Hyunjin Kim, Senior Staff Engineer at DEEPX, presents the “State-of-the-art Model Quantization and Optimization for Efficient Edge AI” tutorial at the May 2023 Embedded Vision Summit.
Extremely efficient edge AI requires more than efficient processors; it also requires tools capable of generating superefficient software. In this talk, Kim explains and demonstrates how DEEPX’s DXNN SDK utilizes state-of-the-art optimization techniques to generate extremely efficient, accurate code for DEEPX’s new M1 neural processor.
Kim begins by describing how the DXNN SDK uses hardware-aware, selective quantization to maintain high accuracy while achieving efficient DNN implementations. Next, he explains how the SDK maps DNN layer operations into processor micro-operations to provide both efficiency and flexibility. Kim also shows how the DEEPX SDK conserves memory by utilizing tiling, layer fusion and feature reuse. Finally, he illustrates the ease of use of the SDK by demonstrating the use of the DXNN SDK to implement a state-of-the-art model on the M1 NPU.

2. Relembramos que, os códigos do MNPS e CAT3D são de 64 bits. O
desenvolvimento para 32 bits foi descontinuado. Consequentemente é
necessário instalar sob sistema operacional Windows de 64 bits. Pode
ser Win 7, Win 8 ou Win 10. Nossa recomendação hoje é Windows 10
de 64 bits.
Recomendamos como
antivirus o NOD32 de
ESET. Como segunda
opção o Windows
Defender da Microsoft.
Outros antivirus
podem eliminar partes
do sistema devido a
falsos positivo.
3. • New functional atlas maps were digitalized, based on Morel sagittal, brain
Hb1.
• MNPS now saves the functional atlas setting parameters, such as
magnification for each axis, translation, and active atlas.
• The size of font and color of the POIs are saved as preferences. The same
font properties are applied to X-ray pairs.
• New ROI smoothing methods.
• Improvements in Virtual Fiducials for Leksell frames. Including better
support for tractography and “Atlas Struct to ROI”.
• MNPS now saves the gray level settings of external image sets used in
fusion.
• MNPS saves gray level settings of X-ray and DSA images.
• Updated support to Riechert-Mundiger apparatus on MNPS 64 bits.
• New parameter for MNPS.INI: ALIGN_IMAGES. If ALIGN_IMAGES is equal
to zero (0), no rotation is made to align the sequence.

4. • 2D-3D registration with POIs now has an automatic search of POIs to
match with X-ray landmarks. POI names intended for 2D-3D registration
must contain the character ‘<’ to be considered as automatic search
candidates.
• Improved solution of the perspective projection matrix used in X-ray
pairs. A second pass of non-linear minimization of square errors in
camera pose estimation was implemented.
• Faster and more accurate solution of the 3D localization from 2D points.
• Portal image can be loaded from IMG files in the same folder or the open
plan, use ALT-F2 if you want to load IMG files. When SHIFT-F2 is used
MNPS looks for DCM images in the PORTAL folder.
• A special purpose ROI provide isolation of portion of the stereotactic
volume for 3D and DRR rendering. If the user creates a ROI with name
“ROI-MASK” or “ROI_MASK” it will be used to render only densities
inside such ROI, in 3D and some DRRs. Useful to render angio-CT
removing the bone structure.

5. • New Dialog for setting POI rendering properties.
• <Shift-HOME> and <Shift-POI> open a dialog for POI special tools, such as
properties, putting a POI in the center of mass of an object, etc.
• Import POIs from a text file. Use <Shift-HOME> and select “Import POIs
from File>. A POIs file must start with a line including the word ”POI” ,
optionally the word “YXZ” allows to import POIs with the CRW/BRW style,
that is (Anterior, Lateral, Vertical).
• Better rendering of some elements when the windows is maximized of
scaled up.
• Small scale adjustment to three vectorial sagittal maps derived from
Schaltenbrand-Wahren atlas.
• Added support to Radionics LUMINANT localizer frame, tested with axial
CT only.
• Added support for MHT stereotactic system. It is a variation of the original
Riechert-Mundinger.
• Improved “Clean Image”. Clean Image now includes a FOV tool to remove
undesired objects outside FOV.

7. SHIFT + HOME

9. • Dicom implemented support to multiframe images with JPEG2000
compression, lossless or lossy.
• Dicom importer solved an issue with “burned in annotations” over the
image. The program now reads TAG (0028,0301) if present.
• Dicom failed if the path to a dicom file included the string “DicomDir”.
Was solved.
• Dicom importer can read tractography data (trk) directly inside of a gzip
packed file (.gs). This is the case of file “whole_brain.trk.gs”, created by
DSI-Studio.
• Dicom.exe now support the mosaic style of Siemens MRI format.
Principais novidades do importador DICOM
Ler o formato Mosaic da Siemens permite importar tractografias que antes não
podíamos utilizar.
10. Planos previstos para desenvolvimento no período
2019 – 2020
• Localização automática de DBS em CT pos-op.
• Suporte a campos elétricos de outros DBS direcionais.
St. Jude / Abbott deve ser o próximo a implementar.
• Interface gráfica do volume em lesões térmicas por RF.
• Implementar exportação como DicomRT-Plan de radiocirurgia no
MNPS, para conectividade com sistemas MosaiQ e Aria.
• Renderização 3D via Anaglífos (Anaglyphs).
11. Informação completa das novidades está publicada no
documento “MNPS_updates_history.pdf”.
