A curriculum vitae is a longer, more in-depth document that can span multiple pages and includes details about one's education and accomplishments. A resume is a concise one page summary of skills and experience. The three main differences between a CV and resume are length, purpose, and layout - CVs are longer and more detailed while resumes are brief, and CVs follow a chronological order while resume information can be rearranged on a resume. Both CVs and resumes aim to make an individual stand out from other candidates.
