Analysis of airborne particulate matter collected from different places in induction of
hypo-response in macrophages
Techniques and skills employed:
 Environmental engineering: Collection of airborne PM10 ,methanol extraction
of PM sample, analysis of airborne endotoxin by Kinetic LAL assay, genomic
DNA extraction
 Immunology: Analysis of pro-inflammatory response through stimulation of
PBMC cells, measurement of cytokines by specific ELISA, analysis of
mechanisms that contribute to hypo-response in macrophages, cell viability
assay, oxidative assay , whole blood assay

2.  Animal cell culture: A549 cells subculture and stimulation, THP-1 cells
subculture, differentiation and stimulation, PBMC cells isolation from whole
