Danilo Sergio Pupo is an engineer who works as a field engineer for SEA VISION installing and debugging vision systems for pharmaceutical packaging. He has experience implementing image processing techniques like OCV and OCR. He previously worked as a product specialist assisting with a new electronic health records system. Pupo received a Master's in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a dual Master's from Lunds Tekniska Högskola in Sweden. He also holds a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.

Workexperience
10/2017 – Now SEA VISION S.r.l. – Field Engineer
I am responsible for installation of vision systems on automatic machines for packaging of
pharmaceutical products. My activity mainly involves implementing and debugging of various
types of controls exploiting image processing techniques to perform OCV, OCR, product
presence, correct assembly, reading codes and traceability of the drugs.
Validation and testing of these systems (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ and PQ protocols) as well as after-
sales technical support is also part of my job.
I developed the ability to manage the project through an effective communication with the
customer to ensure that timing and URS (User Requirements Specification) are respected. The
costumers are usually big pharmaceutical companies such as GSK, Pfizer, TEVA and others.
I am a full-time travel agent: traveling for about 85% of the time between Italy, Europe and
the rest of the world.
11/2014 – 12/2014 Lutech S.p.a. – Product Specialist wHospital
The general project was about the introduction of electronic health records in different wards
of “Humanitas Research Hospital” in Rozzano, Italy. During the start-up phase, my task was to
assist the clinical staff in the use of the new digital platform during their daily job and in
reporting criticalities.
Education
10/2014 – 07/2017 Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering
Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy
Final grade: 110 cum laude / 110
The specialization was about Biomedical electronic and Clinical instrumentation, including
subjects about Neurosensory systems, Biomedical sensors, Analog and Digital Signal
processing, Image processing, Robotic surgery, System Modelling and Data Mining.
The master thesis work required the use of methods in signal processing using MATLAB, with
the aim of extracting respiratory information from ECGs of patients affected by atrial
fibrillation.
2. 08/2015 – 06/2017 Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering (Double degree)
Lunds Tekniska Högskola, Lund, Sweden
Average grade: 4.67 / 5
I enrolled in the fourth year of the program in Biomedical Engineering, after validation of all
the study credits in my university education till then. My studies focused on techniques for
Signal and Image Processing at an advanced level. I also had the chance to gain knowledges
about neural networks, genetic algorithms, dynamic programming, microfluidics and lab-on-
a-chip systems.
09/2011–09/2014 Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering
Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy
Final grade: 103 / 110
During BSc I studied standard engineering subjects and attended some biomedical science-
specific courses (Physiology, Bio-mechanics, Bio-electromagnetism, Chemical Bioengineering)
and several Information Technology courses (Analog and Digital Electronics, Electrotechnics,
Automation, Computer Science and Medical Informatics).
As final work, I carried out my thesis at the National Centre of Oncological Hadrontherapy in
Pavia, Italy. The project was about the collection and analysis of clinical data acquired during
radiation treatments with accelerated particles for the evaluation of patient positioning and
setup errors. I also developed a graphic interface in MATLAB for an efficient visualization of
the data and subsequent analyses.
