Reflection
     First, I carefully observed the children .I found that they
were excited when the leaves were blew off from the trees by
wind in the playground. They collected and sorted leaves by
different colors and shapes. Then, I planned my project based
on the observation. During the project proceed, I asked the
questions to the children to make sure the children were still
interested in the topic in circle time. After that, I posted the
rationale in the center to inform the parents for enhancing
children’s learning. In the whole process, the children are
always in the center.
     Vygotsky’s theory influenced my interaction with the
children. He states, “Adults need to scaffold children’s learning
by asking questions, giving hints.” (Professor Cadieux week 1
handout).When I did my activities with the children, I asked
them open-ended questions. For example, I asked one boy,
“Can you tell me what you have known about leaves?.”
     Children and I learned about the world in inquiry ways.
When we have the question: why do leaves change color?, I
went to internet and found the answer. As a citizen, we can use
inquiry ways to question the world in order to discover and
develop the new technology.
