This document provides details about activities that preschool children will engage in to learn about seasons and leaves. The activities include using craft materials like cotton, felt, and googly eyes to demonstrate the four seasons; pretending to garden in the spring for dramatic play; eating oranges to experience fall flavors; blowing leaves and comparing them to other objects for a science lesson; singing a song and reading books about seasons; and using a season wheel to discuss the consequences of seasonal changes. The goal is for the hands-on experiences to build the children's knowledge and excitement about seasons and leaves in an engaging way.

1. Seasons and leaves investigation
Dear Parents
After observing and speaking with children, I discovered that they
are enthusiastic about seasons and leaves. Your children are
naturally curious about the topic, and they will have a lot of
experience to learn about seasons and leaves. This will be
amazing experience in their preschool lives, and will build good
foundation for their future development.

2. Children put leaves under papers and did leaf rubbing by using crayon and
color pencils. Some younger children didn’t know how to do it. I shown them
and told them hold paper and leaf stably. They practiced and really wanted leaf
shapes come out.
I provided cotton, felt pedals, googly eyes, drinking straws and other craft
materials for children. I asked them how we can use different materials to
present four seasons. They talked about using cotton to make a snow man or
snow to present winter. Making flowers by using felt pedals present spring. I
asked them, “What happens to leaves in Fall?” They said, “They fall down from
trees.” Then I said, “We can cut brown craft form as a tree trunk and some
paper leaves to present Fall.” Children were busy to stick craft materials on
papers to demonstrate different seasons.

3. I prepared watering cans, sand, artificial flowers, gardening tools and plant
pots for children. I said to them, “Let us pretend to grow some flowers in spring.”
They enjoyed doing gardening. One boy shown me his flowers and asked me if
he can bring the flowers to home.
Sensory activity
I told children, “Oranges are ripe in Fall. Let us eat oranges and have a taste of
Fall.” Then I asked them, “Is the taste of Fall sweet or bitter?” They answered,
“Sweet.”

4. Science activity
I let children blow woodblocks, feathers, plastic letters and leaves. I asked
them, “Why can we move feathers and leaves but not woodblocks?”They said,
“Feathers and leaves are lighter than woodblocks.”
Musical and literacy activity

5. I
I taught children a song named “Leaves falling down”. I read lyric and a book
named “Seasons” for them. I also asked children the consequence of seasons
by using the season wheel.
