This document outlines Multnomah County's framework for managing culverts as critical stormwater assets. It discusses collecting a culvert inventory with location and attribute data, inspecting culverts to assess condition and prioritize maintenance, and maintaining culverts on a schedule based on condition ratings. Culverts are inspected annually and on a 2 to 10 year cycle depending on their condition rating. Inspections assess structural integrity, hydraulics, and other factors to assign an overall condition score. Automated workflows then schedule appropriate routine, preventative, or replacement work based on the culvert's condition rating. The framework provides a comprehensive, data-driven approach to culvert asset management.
