This document contains brainstorming ideas for connecting the IDEO community to the local Mission neighborhood in San Francisco and bringing more joy and playfulness into the workplace. Suggestions include hosting open studios and community tours, volunteering with local organizations, supporting neighborhood restaurants and artists, and adding playful elements like a meditation room, games, theme days, and animal visits to the office. Several people volunteered to help design new community and workplace experiences going forward.

I chose 11 apps that personally has helped me change my day and consequently my life. I have classified them according to four categories that include areas that I consider important. The idea is not to provide user manuals, but rather glimpses so you can quickly understand what they are, how they work and then download it and try it out on your own. I hope it can help you to transform aspects of your life, making you more organized and happy.
Is poetry instruction still relevant in a time when we are preparing students for high-stakes testing in school while we read and write on cell phones, iPads, and laptops out of school? According to this study, the answer is, “Yes.” Digital poetry bridges new literacy skills with traditional poetry instruction in a collaborative environment. Any opportunities educators can build a bridge between out of school and in school literacies could increase student motivation and engagement to learn. I am confident that the affordances of digital poetry instruction can provide the collaborative digital environment students’ desire while meeting the academic demands of the CCSS.
