The document discusses the history and evolution of cloud computing. It provides several sources that trace the origins of the term "cloud computing" and describe how it has been defined. The document also references Gartner's Hype Cycle methodology for evaluating the maturity and adoption of new technologies and indicates that cloud computing is beyond the peak of inflated expectations on this Hype Cycle.

Introduction to Continuous Integration with JenkinsEric Hogue
Talk on Continuous Integration given at Sunshine PHP 2015 on February 7.
Continuous Integration allows developers to run tests automatically every time code is pushed to source control. We will look at the different tests that a Continuous Integration server can run. How to create a build script so it runs the tests and make sure it produces the needed reports. Finally, how to set up Jenkins to run the build and display the reports.
In this talk, we will briefly review the current trend toward Edge Computing first. Then, characteristics and requirements for the Industrial Edge Computing will be addressed and discussed. Among them, Decentralized Fault-Resilient Architecture, Time-sensitive Operations, Data-centric Computation, Autonomous Systems and Flexibility are the most important ones. Some influential open-source projects for the industrial edge computing will also be introduced in this talk, including Cyclone DDS, ROS2, Autoware and zenoh.
Garuda Robotics Software Development Engineer Nicholas Ng speaks about open source drones in everyday life at NTU Open Source Society's TGIFHacks on 23 September 2016. He will be sharing on how to use open source UAV technology to solve real world problems. He believes that open source movement enables everybody to kickstart their UAV journey with the correct platforms and frameworks, which he will be sharing with few examples used by Garuda Robotics in their solutions.

During this session Kingdon Barrett, OSS Engineer at Weaveworks & Flux Maintainer, will show you how to quickly create scalable and Cosign-verified GitOps configurations with Flux using the same process with two demo environments: one will be a Kustomize Environment and the other a Helm-based environment.
Our current electricity system is in trouble.
Under investment in research and development has left us with grid infrastructures which are crumbling.
To fix this we need to start rolling out smart meters, smart grids, super grids and market based demand response - this will more closely align the electricity demand curve, with the supply curve (which is now becoming less controllable with the advent of renewables).
Automated demand response programs are our best hope for successful DR programs. That and intelligent appliances which can adjust their behaviour based on information feeds from utilities about the state of the current (no pun) market.

Predicting rainfall using ensemble of ensemblesVarad Meru
The Paper was done in a group of three for the class project of CS 273: Introduction to Machine Learning at UC Irvine. The group members were Prolok Sundaresan, Varad Meru, and Prateek Jain.
Regression is an approach for modeling the relationship between data X and the dependent variable y. In this report, we present our experiments with multiple approaches, ranging from Ensemble of Learning to Deep Learning Networks on the weather modeling data to predict the rainfall. The competition was held on the online data science competition portal ‘Kaggle’. The results for weighted ensemble of learners gave us a top-10 ranking, with the testing root-mean-squared error being 0.5878.
Generating Musical Notes and Transcription using Deep LearningVarad Meru
Music has always been the most followed art form, and lot of research had gone into understanding it. In recent years, deep learning approaches for building unsupervised hierarchical representations from unlabeled data have gained significant interest. Progress in fields, such as image processing and natural language processing, has been substantial, but to my knowledge, methods on auditory data for learning representations have not been studied extensively. In this project I try to use two methods for generating music from range of musical inputs such as MIDI to complex WAV formats. I use RNN-RBMs and CDBN to explore music.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
