Social Media Storytelling: 4 Key Steps to Engage SupportersKimbia, Inc
While there are more channels than ever before to reach your supporters, all of the “noise” makes it more difficult to really reach them. Science proves that storytelling stimulates emotions, a key to better learning, attention, memory and decision-making. In turn, these emotions inspire and mobilize people to donate, volunteer and participate in crowdfunding and other events, as well as share your story with their networks.
Social media stories enable both you and your supporters to freely and quickly share your cause across channels and continents, creating credibility and giving your organization more exposure. Like any other marketing and fundraising discipline, social media storytelling is both science and art. Using examples of successful social campaigns from Houston Grand Opera, Intrepid Fallen Heroes and, Rachel Lewis Biggs, Director of Digital Strategy, from Kimbia partner Social Factor, will teach you how to:
Select the best story based on 5 key principles
1. Script the most compelling story
2. Choose the most appropriate mediums/channels
3. Show you best-practice nonprofit storytelling examples
4. Measure your success
View this webinar to learn:
- How crowdfunding can find you new supporters
- How to use what’s working in the commercial world and bring the right elements over to make your charitable crowdfunding successful
- How to benchmark for success in crowdfunding
Using best practices and up-to-date case studies, learn how to do more than just raise money to make potato salad – learn how to raise money, find new supporters, build brand and make your organization stronger with crowdfunding.

Developing a marketing approach for events
Planning and executing events
Sponsorship and Support
Engaging the Media
Promotional Tools
Events are a marketing activity and need clearly defined objectives to ensure that you can evaluate performance. Evaluation ensures that you are able to make informed decisions to consider the event in future years.
It is important to understand the target market for the event, as this will influence the promotional tools and potential sponsors. Business partners will generally want a return from supporting an event and it is important that you can articulate quantifiable benefits, such as the ability to reach a desired target market.
All promotional tools should reinforce the key messages of the event with a consistent appearance and a clearly defined call to action that encourages participation.
Events can require a lot of work and dedication but can also successfully raise the profile of your organisation or supporting fundraising campaigns.
There’s a lot to do to get ready for your giving day event, from pre-event marketing activities, to day-of event coverage, to post-event follow up. Join the experts at Kimbia for a social media jam session and learn tips and tricks of the trade to get your plan together and bring your social A-game. In this free webinar, we’ll talk about the social channels you should care about (and why) and give you tips for planning your social strategy for your giving day.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

• Did the campaign manager engage supporters throughout
the project?
• If you ran a ‘Rewards’ campaign, did your Rewards have
value – were people enticed?
• Overall, what will I do in the same way for my next
project?
• Overall, what will I do differently for my next project?
• What are my ideas for my next project?
