 School data can be displayed in a creative and positive manner around a school
There is more to school data than students’ test scores
Examples of positive school data include: high attendance rates, positive behavior,
acts of kindness, student interests, student achievement, student work, etc.
Why display school data?
Creatively displaying school data reminds students, educators, administrators,
parents, school personnel, visitors, and community members of the positive and
motivating things occurring at school
Attractive visual display that people can easily access
Creates a sense of inspiration and encouragement

Creates an effective learning environment
Promotes discussion among students, educators, administrators, and families
Provides opportunities for collaboration
Showcases students and teachers in various ways

How to implement creative displays in school
Educators can collaborate and determine how to showcase something positive that occurs in the
school
Examples can include: honor exemplary educators, recognize students with monthly perfect
attendance, recognize students on honor roll, recognize students who have shown the most
growth/improvement academically or behaviorally, student work, etc.
Allow all children to have the opportunity to be showcased at one point throughout the year
Ask students and families what they would like to see on their school bulletin boards

Frequent updates to walls should occur weekly, biweekly, or monthly
Maintain privacy by not using student names, use student numbers
