My magazine challenges conventions by focusing on street style fashion in Pakistan to promote freedom of expression among teenagers. It represents social groups interested in Western street style seen in magazines like Grazia and Elle. The magazine would be distributed both online through sites like Issuu and as a print publication through bookshops and shopping malls to engage audiences. Working on this project helped improve the creator's photography, editing, and presentation skills through learning tools like Photoshop and developing a stronger understanding of composition. Technologies like blogs, social media, and embedding tools were integrated at different stages of the project from planning to content sharing.

2. Codes and Conventions:
Codes are the rules by which signs are put together to create a meaning. Codes and
Conventions are the rules, put together to communicate certain ideas and brands to
a mass audience, using multiple media platforms. New perspective can be
introduced regarding the Codes and Conventions. They are internationally
recognised rules. In this presentation here I will tell about the conventions, I
followed. The conventions which I didn’t followed `to discuss my genre in its own
way.

3. Firstly, I will talk about the Conventions of my cover page.
The cover page is an expression of a magazine. It forces the
Target audience to take actions and decisions. The main thing on the cover
page is the title/Mast Head of the magazine.. It is surely very important that it
should look different than all the other fonts to be used on the same page.

4. . It’s not useful to use the same fonts or sizes for the Mast head. I have
used a black BOLD font for the Mast head of the cover page. In most
fashion accessories magazines the Mast head is edge to edge. Here, It is
placed directly over the head, with a font named Trajan pro BOLD,
placed capitally.
The convention I have followed that it’s Title ‘STYLE INN’ is slightly according to and
matching with my genre. Furthermore, the date and website mentioned below the
Mast head. The buyers/audience can slightly emphasize it’s genre. I have used a bit
casual font for the Mast head because my genre itself is very Casual and Trendy. I have
also used this convention so that all the alphabets could easily be readable.

5. In most Street style fashion magazines, the mise-en-scene of the
cover page is a simple white background or a random street. I
followed this convention for my cover page. Anyhow, this is also
the convention which I challenged because in most of the Street
style magazines it focuses on the main object or the accessories
with a plain background or a blur background.I focus more
towards my mise en scene, the reason behind this is I want to
make my target audience to observe the importance of freedom
for teenage and Street style fashion out there in Pakistan.

6. CONTENT PAGE
The content page of a magazine is recognized as a more
functional and informative page and this page have some
conventions which is necessary to follow, First of all I
decided to divide the page from center and left side is
decided as content information side, and right side is
decided as photographic visuals side which related with
contents , and then I placed the Masthead at the top left
side of the page and then placed the content heading
and then placed content information’s with page No. and
proper heading and on right side of the page is full of
photos which is related to the contents and make a sense
of aesthetics for audience

Unlike, in most of the magazines the main focus is on the main image the
Mast head is defocused and is not prominent well. But according to my

ISSUES OF MY MAGAZINE:
Such issue I wanted to clear through my magazine was to clear the
wrong perception developed in the minds of the people according to my
genre about the western dressing or Street Style fashion. There is a less
focus on Street Style fashion in Pakistan.

12. Unique Selling point (USP)
A USP (Unique Selling Point) of my magazine was that I wanted to highlight the
youngsters fashion sense and ideas. , especially teenagers who try to invent latest
daily life fashion trends regarding casual dresses , footwear’s, and other fashion
accessories and meaningful discussions , opinions and offers about fashion in our
society fashion is a debatable topic because a large number of people have dislike
opinion about youngsters street style fashion point of view . Through my magazine, I
wanted to provide a strong voice to those youngsters who want to follow street style
fashion and and want to introduce new ideas of street style fashion in real world
because fashion is directly connected with multiple businesses now a days , my
magazine is a platform for introducing new ideas of youngsters fashion and allow
them to present their work about fashion trends to the world and hopefully to
inspires others to share their own vision about street style fashion genre .

My magazine is working as support group and platform for
fashion researchers, designers, and those trend makers who are
new in field and searching a platform to express their work and
idea to the audience , they can used double spread page of my
magazine as a fashion based main article, my magazine
encourage those newcomers who want to connect the fashion with
business world with branding information’s and offers, I am very
confident about my magazine that it will effect my target audience
and make a strong connection with them to understand the status
of the street style fashion in our society its role according to
business point of view .

14. Q2-How does your product engage with audiences
and How would it be distributed as real media text?
Part i.
I made a connection with my audience through surveys that I conducted in to
understand their needs and demands. Additionally, I came up with my USPs
(Unique Selling Points) for my magazine through this survey, so that my
magazine would generate a strong impact on my target market. In my survey
that I made on survey monkey, I included those questions which targeting my
audience’s needs wants so that I could make a product that would cater to it e.g.,
what type of street style fashion and accessories information’s, they would they
preferred to read about.
After collecting the survey results I incorporated some of the demands into my
magazine content while choosing to ignore some of the results to maintain the
uniqueness of my magazine.

15. Part ii.
Furthermore, the front cover of my magazine attracts youngsters towards the cover story which
targets teenage street style fashion followers and aspiring fashion trend setters who have wish to
make set the trend of new fashion and looking for an inspiration to pursue their fashion passion.
The main image of my cover page of the magazine is directly connected with my genre of the
magazine and the content page is also following conventions and convenient to understand the
content hidden theme for the readers to develop an effective perception about my magazine .
When I started to conducted my survey, I asked a question to my audience if they preferred reading
magazines online or in print and the majority had voted for both. Therefore, as a real media text, my
magazine would be distributed online through sites like Issuu , and other digital magazine sites and
my publishing company FASHION CENTRAL app and would be distrusted a print media through
my publishing house, Fashion central would be distributed it to local bookshops popular among
youngsters e.g., 'Readings' and 'Variety Books'. According to the results of my survey, I will also
display my magazine in shopping malls and will give some free copies to coffee shops and other
waiting areas like airport lounges as promotional activity and spread the popularity of my magazine.

16. Q3 How does your production skills develop throughout this project ?
I have lot of interest in photography, and I was well aware about Camera composition
and what kind of camera angle/shots should be used to capture the effective photos
of models and accessories. During my pre-production work of my photoshoots I had
learn different camera techniques shots and angles and had also realized that every
individual shot and angle had a meaning behind it. Due to this my camera handling
had been improved in a very short time. I was properly familiar with the manual mode
of a DSLR, due to this I achieved a new perspective of photography and knowing the
importance of expressions, angle or framing of a shot can make a new effective
perception for photography. I had learn photo editing properly for this purpose,
because for this project it's necessary that I learn photo editing to implement my
ideas in my magazine work I have improved my editing skill for continuous practice
and have a strong command on my editing style, for learning photo editing I started
work on Photoshop. Learning Photoshop increased me the confidence to step out of
my comfort zone and experiment with software like Adobe Lightroom and Adobe
Photoshop, which allowed greater features and more flexibility than mobile apps in
terms of creative editing.

17. Q4 how did you integrate technologies in this project ?
In the project the use of technology is an essential part and proper use of technology is very important
to achieve our desired results first of all I researched on various blogging sites like Blogspot, Tumblr,
Weebly, and Blogger to see which was the best for me. After complete research about this i started work
on BlogSpot as a personal blog and it was very comfortable with the layout , due to this comfort level i
decided to choose BlogSpot to create my blog for my Foundation Portfolio.
Social Networks - For the purpose of communication and class coordination, I used whatsapp and other
social media networks (facebook, Instagram, messenger ) to communicate with my teachers and
updates of the class progress and syllabus. Furthermore, any concerns and confusions regarding my
work, was easily improved for the use of these apps. Secondly, I also used zoom for online lectures so
that classmates could discuss and help each other in whatever way we could.
Embedding and Research - for this purpose we required different types of tools and softwares of data
presentation, one of the things that was very helpful that most of files could be embedded on my blog
which made data compilation easy for me and manage the continuity of my blog. This constitutes of
presentation making sites like Google Slides and Visme, visual sites like Pinterest: which made it
convenient to search up sample pictures for the project as well as make a moodboard, and Scribd on
which I could easily upload a document and embed the link on my blog.
Other technological instrument camera ,and editinging software are also directly integrated with this
project because use of camera with effective skill and photoshop editing skills are necessary part of this
project without these , this project cannot be consider as completed ….
