Jesus heals a man who was born blind. When Jesus' disciples ask if the man's blindness was due to his own or his parents' sins, Jesus says it was so God's power could be shown. Jesus heals the man by making mud with spit and rubbing it on his eyes, telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. When questioned about the healing, the man testifies boldly about Jesus and glorifies him. The Pharisees expel the man from the synagogue for his belief. Jesus finds the man and tells him he is the Son of Man, and the man believes.
1) Daniel was a leader in Babylon who was faithful to God and refused to stop praying to God even when a new law banned prayer to anyone but the king.
2) Daniel was thrown into a den of lions as punishment for disobeying the law, but God protected him and he was unharmed.
3) The next morning, the king found Daniel alive and well, and realized it was because of God's protection. The king then had Daniel's accusers thrown to the lions instead.
The Parable of the Good Samaritan is a wonderful story that Jesus tells to illustrate how we have to love our neighbors as ourselves. It is about a generous person who was ready to provide help to a stranger in distress without hesitation. God created the world over six days according to the biblical account. On each day God created something new: on day one light and darkness, day two sky and water, day three land and plants, day four sun moon and stars, day five fish and birds, and on day six land animals and humans. God created humans, Adam and Eve, in his own image and placed them in the Garden of Eden. On the seventh day God rested from his work of creation.

God tests Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice his only son Isaac on a mountain. Abraham takes Isaac and travels to the appointed place, building an altar and binding Isaac to it. As Abraham raises a knife to sacrifice his son, an angel stays his hand and provides a ram caught in nearby bushes as a substitute. Abraham names the place "The LORD will provide." God sees that Abraham is willing to sacrifice his son and spares Isaac.

God gathered the waters and let dry land appear with vegetation on the third day. The fourth day saw creation of the sun, moon and stars. Whales, fish and birds were made on the fifth day. Animals and humans were created on the sixth day. God rested on the seventh day, seeing all creation as good.
Noah built an ark according to God's instructions to save his family and two of every kind of animal from a coming flood that would destroy the sinful world. Though people mocked Noah, he obeyed God. When the rains came for 40 days and nights, Noah and the animals were safe in the ark. After the waters receded, Noah released a raven and dove to find land, and God promised to never destroy the earth with a flood again, placing a rainbow in the sky as a sign of this promise.
The story of Noah from Genesis describes how in ancient times, people had become wicked and forgotten God. Only Noah remained faithful to God. God told Noah he was saddened and planned to flood the earth, so Noah built an ark and took his family and two of every animal aboard. It rained for 40 days and nights, flooding the entire world, before the waters receded and Noah's ark landed on Mount Ararat. God created a rainbow as a sign he would never flood the earth again.
Mary and Joseph traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem for a census. When they arrived in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus in a stable because there was no room at the inns. Angels told shepherds in the fields about Jesus' birth, and they went to see the baby. Wise men from the East followed a star and brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the infant Jesus. Joseph fled with Mary and Jesus to Egypt to escape King Herod, who wanted all baby boys in Bethlehem killed.
The document discusses the fall of man according to the Bible. It describes the steps in the fall as unbelief, changing God's word, and disobedience. It defines physical life, physical death, spiritual life, spiritual death, eternal life, and eternal death.
The book of Ruth tells the story of Ruth, a Moabite woman who demonstrates loyalty and faithfulness to her mother-in-law Naomi. During a time of famine, Ruth's Israelite family moves to Moab but her husband and sons die, leaving her and Naomi widowed. When Naomi decides to return to Bethlehem, Ruth insists on accompanying her and converting to her God. In Bethlehem, Ruth gleans grain in the fields of a relative of Naomi's late husband named Boaz, who treats her kindly and later marries her according to levirate law, continuing the family line. The story illustrates God's grace even in difficult times and his inclusion of all people regardless of origin
The document tells the story of Joseph from the Bible. Joseph was the favorite son of Jacob and was given a special coat by his father. Joseph's brothers became jealous of him and sold him into slavery after he told them dreams that implied he would rule over them. God had a plan for Joseph, and through many trials, Joseph rose to become the governor of Egypt and was able to save his family and the surrounding nations from famine. The story illustrates that even through difficulties, God is with us and has a plan for our lives.

This document provides background information on Moses and the story of Exodus from the Bible. It discusses who Moses was, including being raised in Egypt but born to Hebrew parents. It also summarizes the key events of Exodus such as the 10 plagues, Israelites being freed from slavery, and wandering in the desert for 40 years. However, it notes that some details are not likely historical facts, such as the parting of the Red Sea which was more likely a marsh that trapped Egyptian chariots. The overall message is that the religious truths of God's love for his people and leading them to freedom are more important than the specific factual details. Students are assigned to read more on Moses and answer accompanying questions.

Pastors as Brothers: How to Form Gospel-Centered Discipleship and Accountabil...Derick Parfan
This document discusses the importance of Christian accountability and discipleship groups for pastors. It notes that studies have shown pastors who experienced moral failures lacked personal accountability and daily time with God. The document then addresses common objections to accountability groups, citing Bible verses to show why confession of sins to one another and accountability are vital. It explains how such groups can help pastors remain gospel-centered by focusing on praise, confession, understanding the gospel, prayer, and obedience.
The Pastor as Minister: Facing the Unique Challenges of MinistryDerick Parfan
The document discusses a pastor who struggled with suicidal thoughts after slowly shifting his identity from being anchored in the Gospel to being anchored in his success as a messenger of the Gospel. He learned that anchoring one's identity and self-worth in something smaller than God leads to greater pain when it is lost. It provides biblical passages about living for Christ rather than for self. It addresses identity issues in ministry and asks questions to help reflect on signs one's identity is too tied to their ministry calling and how that impacts relationships and what a pastor needs to communicate to their congregation for support.
Pastors as Disciples: Our Ongoing Need of the Grace of God in SanctificationDerick Parfan
This document discusses the ongoing need for pastors and ministry leaders to pursue sanctification and grow as disciples of Jesus. It outlines three theological foundations: 1) Our primary identity is as disciples, not pastors; 2) Sanctification is a lifelong process; 3) Perseverance is crucial for salvation. It encourages pastors to "fight the good fight of faith" through knowing their sins, confessing them, trusting their Savior, and fighting alongside other believers. The document emphasizes that pastors still need God's grace daily and warns against underestimating one's need for Christ and relationships in his body.
Jesus calls us to be doers of his word and not mere listeners. But another mistake - a huge one - we can commit is to think that external obedience will be enough. If we think that way, we are like the Pharisees to whom the Lord issued a very strong condemnation in this passage. Our obedience must be from the inside out.
True discipleship means not merely hearing the Word but listening intently with a heart toward obedience. In this sermon, we will explore three qualities of life that God desires for all followers of Jesus.
There are two opposing forces in our world today. As disciples of Jesus, we must take side with Jesus and his kingdom against the kingdom of Satan and this worldly system.
This document contains a daily bible reading plan for January 13th to 18th focusing on Luke 10:38-42. It also includes a quote about the importance of worshipping and spending time with Jesus in order to represent him properly. The reading plan analyzes the story of Mary and Martha, noting that Mary cherished time with Jesus while Martha let distractions take her focus away.
The Parable of the Good Samaritan is much more than just telling us to love our neighbor. Listen to this sermon how that parable points us to our need of Jesus for eternal life. http://wp.me/po4gZ-1XL
All Christians are "sent-out" by the Lord Jesus Christ to be on mission with him to bring the gospel to wherever God is leading us. We need to work together for this. http://wp.me/po4gZ-1Ux
The document discusses listening to and praying for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. It references a Bible passage of Herod killing male children in Bethlehem. It then asks "Why?" and discusses how the birth of Jesus tells us that he was sent to a world full of pain, that he shares in our pain, and that he will save us from all our pain. It provides guidance to face pain, feel God's presence in pain, and have hope in God's promises. It concludes by saying Jesus gives the hope of comfort in life's pain.
Jesus did not call us to live longer, feel happier, and look better, but to, "Deny your self, take up your cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). http://wp.me/po4gZ-1vW
We must examine ourselves to see the fruit of obedience in our walk with Jesus. To know why this self-examination is so serious, join me in walking thru Jesus' teaching in Luke 8:4-21.
John the Baptist sends his disciples to ask Jesus, "Are you the One who is to come or shall we look for another?" In our minds, the answer is obvious. But in our hearts, we have a tendency to look for another.
1. Ang Kuwentong ito ay galing sa Bibliya. Totoo ito dahil ito’y Salita ng
Diyos. Ang Diyos ang Bida sa Kuwentong ito. Siya ay banal. At lahat
at maghahari magpakailanman.
Diyos. Magsisi na kayo at maniwala sa Magandang Balita.” May
ilang nakinig at sumunod sa kanya.
nabuhay. Sa pamamagitan nito, nagtagumpay siya laban sa
kasalanan at sa kamatayan. Nasaksihan ito ng 500 katao.
Bautismuhan n’yo sila at
turuang sumunod sa lahat ng utos ko. Sasamahan ko kayo sa
pamamagitan ng aking Espiritu.”
