We must examine ourselves to see the fruit of obedience in our walk with Jesus. To know why this self-examination is so serious, join me in walking thru Jesus' teaching in Luke 8:4-21.
All Christians are "sent-out" by the Lord Jesus Christ to be on mission with him to bring the gospel to wherever God is leading us. We need to work together for this. http://wp.me/po4gZ-1Ux
The document discusses listening to and praying for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. It references a Bible passage of Herod killing male children in Bethlehem. It then asks "Why?" and discusses how the birth of Jesus tells us that he was sent to a world full of pain, that he shares in our pain, and that he will save us from all our pain. It provides guidance to face pain, feel God's presence in pain, and have hope in God's promises. It concludes by saying Jesus gives the hope of comfort in life's pain.
John the Baptist sends his disciples to ask Jesus, "Are you the One who is to come or shall we look for another?" In our minds, the answer is obvious. But in our hearts, we have a tendency to look for another.

There are two opposing forces in our world today. As disciples of Jesus, we must take side with Jesus and his kingdom against the kingdom of Satan and this worldly system.
Jesus did not call us to live longer, feel happier, and look better, but to, "Deny your self, take up your cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). http://wp.me/po4gZ-1vW
The Parable of the Good Samaritan is much more than just telling us to love our neighbor. Listen to this sermon how that parable points us to our need of Jesus for eternal life. http://wp.me/po4gZ-1XL
True discipleship means not merely hearing the Word but listening intently with a heart toward obedience. In this sermon, we will explore three qualities of life that God desires for all followers of Jesus.
This document contains a daily bible reading plan for January 13th to 18th focusing on Luke 10:38-42. It also includes a quote about the importance of worshipping and spending time with Jesus in order to represent him properly. The reading plan analyzes the story of Mary and Martha, noting that Mary cherished time with Jesus while Martha let distractions take her focus away.
Pastors as Brothers: How to Form Gospel-Centered Discipleship and Accountabil...Derick Parfan
This document discusses the importance of Christian accountability and discipleship groups for pastors. It notes that studies have shown pastors who experienced moral failures lacked personal accountability and daily time with God. The document then addresses common objections to accountability groups, citing Bible verses to show why confession of sins to one another and accountability are vital. It explains how such groups can help pastors remain gospel-centered by focusing on praise, confession, understanding the gospel, prayer, and obedience.
The Pastor as Minister: Facing the Unique Challenges of MinistryDerick Parfan
The document discusses a pastor who struggled with suicidal thoughts after slowly shifting his identity from being anchored in the Gospel to being anchored in his success as a messenger of the Gospel. He learned that anchoring one's identity and self-worth in something smaller than God leads to greater pain when it is lost. It provides biblical passages about living for Christ rather than for self. It addresses identity issues in ministry and asks questions to help reflect on signs one's identity is too tied to their ministry calling and how that impacts relationships and what a pastor needs to communicate to their congregation for support.
Pastors as Disciples: Our Ongoing Need of the Grace of God in SanctificationDerick Parfan
This document discusses the ongoing need for pastors and ministry leaders to pursue sanctification and grow as disciples of Jesus. It outlines three theological foundations: 1) Our primary identity is as disciples, not pastors; 2) Sanctification is a lifelong process; 3) Perseverance is crucial for salvation. It encourages pastors to "fight the good fight of faith" through knowing their sins, confessing them, trusting their Savior, and fighting alongside other believers. The document emphasizes that pastors still need God's grace daily and warns against underestimating one's need for Christ and relationships in his body.
Jesus calls us to be doers of his word and not mere listeners. But another mistake - a huge one - we can commit is to think that external obedience will be enough. If we think that way, we are like the Pharisees to whom the Lord issued a very strong condemnation in this passage. Our obedience must be from the inside out.
The document discusses the results of a study on the impact of climate change on global wheat production. Researchers found that rising temperatures will significantly reduce wheat yields across different regions of the world by the end of the century. Under a high emissions scenario, the study projects a global average decrease in wheat production of 6% by 2050, and a 17% decrease by 2100, threatening global food security.
Only the merciful and powerful touch of Jesus can free us from our slavery to sin, cleanse us from all impurities, and cause our hearts to reach out in love to others.

Is the story of Jesus' battle against Satan's temptations telling us that we should be like Jesus in how we respond to temptations? In a way, yes. But I believe it's much more than that. Jesus was not just giving us an example to follow here. He is actually telling us that there's good news here for all of us who failed over and over again. The document discusses humanity's problem of deriving identity from pleasing others and possessions rather than from God. It describes how people try to hide this through nominalism, self-righteousness, and rituals. True repentance involves confessing sin and need for forgiveness and Christ. Jesus' identity is as sovereign Lord, spirit-baptizer, son of God, and sinless savior. For those in Christ, their identity comes from being God's servants, homes of the spirit, and saints in God's sight as his sons and daughters.
The law and the temple represent something very important for the Jewish nation - the word of God and the presence of God. The Jews failed to obey the law and therefore draw near to God's presence. But both of these are fulfilled in Jesus. http://wp.me/po4gZ-1jQ

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
