Mohamed Ebrahim is running for Chairman of the ICPAK Coast Branch for the 2020-2022 term. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Coast Branch and on the ICPAK National Public, Policy and Research committee. If elected, he aims to serve members in an open and inclusive manner, focusing on member services like supporting practitioners and promoting employability, as well as public services like contributing to county government budgets and promoting the accounting profession. He has over 20 years of experience in accounting and is seeking the position to utilize his expertise.

position of Chairman, to serve you for the
period 2020 to 2022. I currently serve in
the ICPAK National Public, Policy and
Research, DevolutionWork stream Sub-
Committee of Council.

The delivery of the service during my term in office will be in an
open, transparent and all-inclusive manner.The Branch will exist
for all its members who have chosen the Coast Branch as their
Branch because they live there, ply the profession their and con-
sider it their home irrespective race, ethnicity, age, gender, area
of professional practice or religion.
My campaign is focused on ICPAK's mandate and on the
Branch's role in exercising and promoting that mandate as per
the Branch governance policy, which are measured in accord-
ance with the Key Performance Indicators, which are used to
evaluate the performance of ICPAK Branch’s.
These are divided into two broad categories namely:-
1) Member service
2) Public service

2. Under my chairmanship of the branch member service focus:-
1) Protecting Members interests including that of practitioners which I
includes supporting Council in its endeavour to have an Accountants
Remuneration order passed, which enables the implementation of the
minimum fees guidelines, supporting Council in expanding scope of licensing.
2) Promoting Member employability in Practising firms, Businesses, County
governments, in state owned agencies and authorities by constructive
engagement with these bodies.This would mean that adequately trained
CPA’s are positioned for these opportunities, hence the Trainee Accountant
Practical Experience Framework (TAPEF) will need to be effectively executed.
You the youth and young at heart accountants start regular talks or
workshops focused on leveraging on the recently signed memorandum of
understanding with bodies like CPA Australia, ICAEW, SAICA, to enable them
seek professional opportunities globally.
3) Enhancing facilitation by building relationships with relevant stakeholders
like KRA, KNCCI, Universities, technical training institutes and other
organisations with which ICPAK has overlapping of shared goals with them
or their stakeholders in the Coast region.

Under my chairmanship of the branch public service focus: -
1) Constructive contribution to County Governments in the coast regions budg-
et making process.The this will be through the Public Finance and Taxation sub-
committee in liaison with the County Conveners and their committee.
2) Constructive criticism of Income and expenditure reports of County govern-
ments issued by Controller of Budget and Auditor General.
3) Promotion of accounting profession in Schools and Colleges, by having regular
engagements with them, to ensure that the accountancy profession continues to
attract the right talent.
NB:This will be primarily through the County Conveners and relevant Sub–
committees, either Member Services or Public Finance and Taxation.

Secretary and CPD Convener (2013-15) and from May 2016 to May 2018. Vice
–Chair May 2018 to date. He was commended by ICPAK in June 2015 for his
services to the Accounting profession by ICPAK. He currently (2019-2021)
serves on the ICPAK National Committee of Council, Devolution Workstream.
