How Can Vitamin D Get Breastmilk
Vitamin D and Breastmilk
There is a growing interest in Vitamin D these past few years. Vitamin D is for the metabolism of
the bone. It is important throughout life. Aside from that, Vitamin D have many other functions in
the human body that plays an important role in the prevention of chronic diseases. Vitamin D is
very important and we get enough of it from the time we are born.
Here are the 7 facts you need to know about Vitamin D and the breastmilk
1. Vitamin D is not deficient in breastmilk. It is true that Vitamin D level is low in breastmilk but
it is not nature s fault. There are physiological reasons for it. Breastmilk is the biologically normal
way to feed babies and if breastmilk is a less or plenty, there are good reasons for that.
2. We can get Vitamin D from sun exposure. We are designed to get Vitamin D from sun exposure
rather than from our diet. If we can get enough Vitamin D from sun exposure,... Show more content

The ideal level of Vitamin D is still unknown. According to the Institue of Medicine, the Vitamin D
level is a blood concentration of at least 50 nmol/L while the Endocrine Society suggests that
Vitamin D level should be at least 75 nmol/L.
6. Each country has different recommendations. The recommendation about Vitamin D varies
depending on the country where you live. In the US, the American Academy of Pediatrics
recommends 400 IU per day of Vitamin D for breastfed babies since birth. On the other hand,
Australia recommends the use of Vitamin D supplement of 400 IU is limited to breastfed babies
who are born to dark skinned and veiled women.
7. Supplementing breastfeeding mothers can improve the level of Vitamin D of their babies.
Breastfeeding mothers who will take Vitamin D supplement of 6400 IU/day will supply her
breastmilk enough Vitamin D to support the requirement of her breastfed baby. This is an
alternative way to giving a supplement directly to the

Civil War In Anil s Ghost
Sri Lanka is more than meets the eye. It can be perceived as a place with golden beaches, rising
waves, misty mountains... and many sites (10 Good Reasons). Outside of these golden beaches ,
and deep within the heart of Sri Lanka is a place where the truth is hidden from the public by the
government. In Michael Ondaatje s Anil s Ghost, Sri Lankais the setting of the book and where the
protagonist, Anil tries to prove the truth of government murders. Although, this righteous act is
constantly being delayed because of the civil war, lack of technology, and poor emergency
services in Sri Lanka. For starters, the Sri Lankan civil war has a major impact on Anil trying to
prove the truth of government assassinations. Since the country is in a civil war, the government

Anil and Sarath realize that they do not have the technology to completely analyze the skeleton
body, so they go to Palipana for advice, where he redirects them to Ananda Udugma...a

Lanka, and finally identifying him as Ruwan Kumara... at the third plumbago village (Ondaagtje

discovering Sailor s identity could easily have been a week long. During this time, hundreds of
lives could have been taken away from the government and no one would know or do anything
because there was no solid evidence proving that it was actually happening. If Sri Lanka had the
technology to identify the body quicker, it could have only taken several hours, making a huge
difference compared to the week it originally took them. Those several hours would bring up this
controversy open to the public, scaring the Sri Lankan government and ending the doing of

Case Study Of Charles Van Dorens
Pleased to offer a report analyzing Charles Van Doren s case from the Existential Therapy
perspective. Existential psychotherapy emphasizes that individual s confrontation with existence
causes mental health problems. Irvin Yalom (existential therapist) recognizes four givens of
existence or ultimate human issues that all people struggle with: freedom and responsibility;
isolation; meaninglessness; and death. The goal of existential therapy is to assist the client in their
exploration of the existential givens of life. This approach of psychotherapybelieves that all humans
are capable of doing both good and evil. On the other hand, individuals need to be the authors of
their lives in order to be an authentic self, consequently, reflecting on the kind of person they want
to be by taking responsibility.
Humans live for a purpose, whether it s to fulfil a duty, enjoy the simple things in life, or in this
case form your own identity. Charles Van Doren
, haunted by his lack of an identity amidst a family
of overachievers, believes he is known worldwide as just The son of The Van Dorens. Towards
the beginning of the movie, Charlie is approached by a woman who refers to him as The son to
which he responds, I m Charlie. Pleasure. His reaction showed that he is not surprised, yet he
wants people to know that he has his own identity. Similarly, during the interview with Dan
Enright and Al Freedman, Charlie says that he teaches at Columbia, Same as Dad as he tries to
assert himself. Later, he was referred to as a professor when he quickly corrected Dan and
pointed out that he is just an instructor; however, for the rest of the movie he accepts being
referred to as a professor, as the sense of accomplishment delights him. Furthermore, during that
interview Charlie mentions his novel about a patricide and points out to Dan and Al that even his
father liked it a lot. He is anxiously trying to validate his novel by indicating that someone like his
father enjoyed it. The question is, to what extent will Charlie reach in order to build his own identity.
Charlie believed that creating his own identity will bring him more freedom and independence
from his family name. Dan asked Charlie to be on the quiz show

What Is CAPM Is An Asset Pricing Theory
In theory, CAPM is an asset pricing model which states that assets are priced commensurate with a
trade off between undiversifiable risk and expectations of return (Dempsey, 2013). It is based on
certain assumptions like Modern Portfolio Theory, Arbitrage Pricing Theory (APT) and Efficient
Market Hypothesis (EMH) where investors are assumed rational under the Market Rationality.
Efficient Market Hypothesis: Although all information may be reflected in the price of stock
following the EMH, the application of CAPM amounts to selecting only relevant data from the
markets to be imputed into the model, thus subjecting CAPM to predictions based only on the
information selected (Dempsey, 2013), which may produce less than accurate results. Random...

Essay On Reimbursement
Reimbursement is the blood of any healthcare facility. The rates of reimbursement are varied
based on insurance payers, location, and other factors. Medicare is the biggest insurance payers
in the healthcare industry. The Medicare reimbursements for providers are based on providers
work, practice expenses, and professional liability. A relative value unit (RVU) is assigned to
each of the three factors, which calculates the workload or expended efforts in caring for patients
by providers. Among those, practice expense is calculated based on the actual expenses that
practices invest in the process of care for patients, which is about 41 percent of total
reimbursements. Adopting new technologies to comply with constant changes in rules and
regulations of healthcare as well as improve care process for patients is a part of practice
expenses. The Food and Drug Administration promotes medical technology innovation but the
CMS does not have any guideline to reimburse providers and healthcare facilities for it (Stark
Jaeger, 2011).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) adds extra financial burdens to mammography
facilities by requiring that all facilities must satisfy the minimum standard for technologists,
radiologists, physicists, and equipment. The requirements increase costs but does not increase
reimbursement to cover those costs for healthcare facilities, which may become heavy burdens for
small and low volume facilities (Nass, Henderson, Lashof,

Causes and Consequences of Human Trafficking in Haiti Essay
Throughout the globe, whether a country is highly developed or unstable, all countries must face
the issue of humanitarian crisis. These misfortunes can be triggered by human action or can occur
involuntarily. Ranging from natural disasters, to diseases, to internal or external conflict, each has
been proven to be detrimental to the stability of the society. Haitihas recently gotten attention for
being simultaneously affected by multiple crises; each of which helps to place Haiti in a trap which
they cannot lift themselves out of without foreign intervention and aid. Organizations such as the

universities, are in place hoping to promote awareness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Officials in Haiti estimate that an overwhelming 90,000 to 120,000 children are currently forced
into this practice, reflecting greatly on the lack of economic stability and growth within the country
(2005 Trafficking in Persons Report). When thinking of sexual exploitation, forced prostitution and
rape are often the first to come to mind; however, women of Haiti have been noted to consciously
choose to exploit themselves. Furthermore, women will trade sex for a goods, shelter, or even
security, in turn causing sex to be classified as an income generating strategy (Kempadoo, 84).
According to a statistic pulled in 1984, 30 percent of the prostitutes from Haiti or from the
Dominican Republic were between fifteen and twenty years old (Benoit, 39). Consequently, the
numbers of individuals affected by trafficking in Haiti is evident of the presence and nature of
crisis occurring.
Haiti is extremely susceptible to the humanitarian crisis of human trafficking due to their unstable
government, lack of law enforcement, and static economy. Although Jean Bertrand Aristide held the
position of president, the society still suffered from brutal acts of violence. Due to the fear of being
overthrown, the military acted in this way to divest the Haitian people of their freedoms (Americas
Watch, 1). However, subsequent to Aristide s resignation in early 2004, Haiti continued to struggle
to gain control

Taking a Look at the Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies have been a staple in Major League baseball for over 120 years. The
Phillies are one of the League s oldest teams dating back all the way to the year 1883. Over the
years the Phillies have acquired many accolades and accomplishments; although the Phillies are
a decorated team for many positive reasons they have also become the league s most losing
team, with over 10,000 losses. Although the Philadelphia franchise may have the most losses in
any professional sport, whether it is football, basketball, or soccer, they have had many playoff
runs and even a few World Series appearances. Throughout the winning and the losing seasons
the Phillies have had some very good players, which went on to be a Hall of Famers, while many
of the players were mediocre at best. Although not all of the players that played in Philadelphia
were good, they had heart and drive to not let the rambunctious fans in Philadelphia not get the
best of them. Whenever a family goes to one of these baseball games, the game may not be the
center of attention for the kids or even the adults with the most entertaining mascot of all the
Phillie Phanatic dancing around and being goofy in front of 20,000 people in the stands. The
Phillies are a Major League Baseballteam, located in Philadelphia, PA. The Philadelphia Phillies
were founded in 1883,originally named the Philadelphia Quakers to replace the team from

The Trinity, The Three Distinct Persons Of God Essay
Throughout the ages, scholars and different denominations tried to explain the Trinity, the three
distinct Persons of God. But yet through the limited understanding of human knowledge and
perceptions of God, they were not able to comprehend indefiniteness of God. One of the issues that
Christians wanted to understand is the Triune God; in order to understand Trinity, it is helpful for us
to know the existence of God. Then ask questions like; How the three Gods united and become
One God? How should we understand Trinity? What are the positions and differences of Seventh
day Adventist belief from Evangelical? The scope and limitation of this paper are to answer the
questions above and my own understanding of God as I study the scriptures.
Let us fully understand the existence of God, however for us to be able to comprehend God, we
must ask God in a humble way to reveal Himself to us. Meaning the core of this study is base on
faith and supported by reading the scriptures. To begin with, the sub questions where does God
come from? The Seventh day Adventist belief stated that the existence of God assumes in the
scriptures, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Gen1:1) . In science, we are
taught in order for the hypothesis to be valid it should undergo scientific observation and analysis.
In this kind of processes, we are trying to observe the existence of God by the use of scientific
tools, in contrast, science should be the primarily tool to prove the

Religious Conflict in Russia
RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN RUSSIA
One of the great ironies of history is that Marxism, an atheistic theory, was first implemented in
RussiaВ—a land inhabited by millions of believers practicing most of the world s great religions.
In fact, religion is so integral to the culture and history of Russia, it would be impossible to gain a
full understanding for the unique character of the country and its people without a careful
examination of the religious factors at play throughout its history.
BACKGROUND
Basic Demographics Any discussion of Russia must begin with its single most striking

In terms of languages, Russian is the common official language throughout the Federation,
understood by 99 percent of its current inhabitants and widespread in many adjacent areas of Asia

further reflecting the diverse ethnicity of the country. As a result, there are more than 100
languages spoken throughout the nation, most tied to the particular ethnic groups from which they
sprang.
Economics and Education Perhaps the most significant impact of the collapse of the Soviet Union
in 1991 has been the economic chaos which subsequently consumed the country. For five years
following the collapse, Russia saw its comparatively developed centrally planned economy
contract severely. It was not until 1997 that Russia began to show signs of recovery as a result
of its new open market policies. Since that time, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the
country has grown by an average of 6.7 percent per year, largely on the back of oil exports, as
well as a steadily developing service and industrial output. Currently, Russia s GDP by purchasing

and the fifth largest in Europe. If this growth rate is sustained, the country will become the second
largest European economy after Germany and the sixth largest in

Introduction The topic chosen to analyze in this needs assessment is student satisfaction with the
School of Public Service at DePaul University (SPS). The needs assessment will consist of eight
main sections; defining the problem, determining users and uses, identifying the target population,
describing the service environment, discerning and assessing the needs of the organization
respectively, communicating the findings, and implementing a pilot program.
Defining the problem The problems identified from this needs analysis derived from the
examination of the Spring 2015 Student Survey and identifying the service environment of the
School of Public Service. Ninety two respondents responded to the survey and four of those
respondents failed to complete the survey. The problem the School of Public Service we are
examining is lack of student satisfaction in SPS. Student satisfaction will be define through the
extent students are willing to recommend SPS to prospective students, create relationships with
Faculty Mentors, and use resources from Depaul University for guidance on employment. Student s
satisfaction with the program comes hand in hand with how likely students are to recommend SPS
to future students. Twenty nine noted they would strongly recommend the program, thirty two
mentioned they would recommend the program, twenty four students said they would recommend
the program, with some reservations, three students would not recommend the program (Einolf,

Jonathan Watt s Defoe s Transition From Literary...
1a. According to Watt, Defoe s transition from literary traditionalism to true individual experience
mostly distinguishes Defoe from earlier writers. Defoe also rejects the traditional plot series, which
sets him apart from writers like Chaucer, Spenser, Shakespeare, and Milton, who accepted the
general premise of their times that, since Nature is essentially complete and unchanging in records,
whether scriptural, legendary or historical, constitute[s] a definitive repertoire of human experience
(366). Meaning that Defoe did not just reiterate plots from previous literature, which turn out to be
romanticized versions of historical legends and periods in history.
1b. I believe that Watt is accurate and that Defoe distinguishes his writing from others by making an
emphasis on the individual character. Most of the earlier writers based their prose around a test of
faith or trial that the protagonist either passes or fails. Most of these characters signify bigger
themes, such as Una in The Faerie Queen, who stood for the one true faith of England, and other
characters were based around significant people in feudal system such as Queen Elizabeth I, or
Saint George: Patron of England. Every part of the stories signified something more significant,
whereas Defoe takes his novel and tells the story of Moll Flanders.
2a. According to Watt, this dominant theory of the time period continued to incline toward the use
of traditional plots (367) in written works. Defoe s literary

The Big Data Is Preserve Privacy Information Of The...
The most important and significant challenge in the big data is to preserve privacy information
of the customers, employees, and the organizations. It is very sensitive and includes conceptual,
technical as well as legal significance. Any collected information about a person, when
combined with other sets of data, can lead to the finding of persons secret and private
information. As big data expands the sources of data it can use, the trustworthiness of each data
source needs to be verified, and techniques should be explored to identify maliciously inserted
data (Jaseena K.U. Julie M. David). Big data gives us a significant opportunity in the field of
national security, a breakthrough of diseases, medical researchers, marketing and business
analysis, urban planning, and so on. But these exceptional advantages of big data are also
restricted by the privacy concerns and the data protection. On the other side, privacy is a huge
concern. Critical pieces of information of users are collected and used in furtherance to add value
for any businesses. This is done by exploiting the insight in their personal information, and in most
of the cases, users are totally unaware of it. The user might not want to share his/ her information.
But, it is already being known to the data owner without the consent or even knowledge of it to the
user. Unauthorized release of information, unauthorized modification of information and denial of
resources are the three categories of security

Functions Of An Efficient Portfolio
A. Portfolio; feasible set; efficient portfolio; efficient frontier
A portfolio is a group of financial assets, differing in possible risk and return, and is managed by
an investor or a group of professionals. Generally, a higher return expected by a portfolio owner
generates a higher risk as well, and vice versa. The mix of financial assets can range, and these can
include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash equivalents. Stocks are considered the most volatile
of these options and thus generate the highest return/highest risk, with bonds being one of the safer
options, which only generate a low return/low risk.
A feasible set of portfolios refers to the possible combinations of financial assets that an investor
can have, according to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to portfolios with less diversification, which tend to be sub optimal and below the curve,
the efficient frontier curve outlines diversified portfolios that are optimal. This is depicted by the
graph attached.
{See Graph 1}
As outlined in the example diagram provided by YoungResearch, the efficient frontier
adequately demonstrates the impact of diversification, showing how it is a factor in
determining the curve s optimal portfolios, determined by the amounts of risk (measured by
standard deviation of annual returns) and return (average of annual returns). For example, a
portfolio with only 100% stocks would generate a large return of 12.5%, though also a large risk
of 17%. This is the opposite to a portfolio of 100% bonds, where the return would be smaller at
9%, though with significantly less risk at approximately 9%. Consider the bundle with 10% risk
and 10.75% return, which is the one composed of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. This may be
viewed as a more favorable option for the investor, as return is higher than a portfolio with only
bonds, though with less risk, compared to a portfolio with only stocks.
{See Graph 2}
B. Indifference curve; optimal portfolio
Indifference curves represent the utility the consumer would obtain as a function of certain
variables. In portfolio theory, this would mean utility as a function of both expected returns and

Art From The 15th-18th Century
Throughout the vast history of art, historians can find connections throughout the centuries. Artists
from the beginning of humankind have been inspired by the world around them. From the Apollo
11 stones to present day, history and culture have provided inspiration and have been the focus of
various pieces. Examining artwork from the 15th 18th century, viewers can be shown a whole
world that would be unknown to us without these artist s contributions. History, religion, and
cultural events have sculpted the art world, and we can observe this through many pieces during
the 15th 18th centuries. Observing art from the earlier periods of time, religion and culture were the
driving forces behind the creation of art. Ancient African artwork shows humans using their

The artist, Robert Campin and his disciples, incorporated the patrons of this piece, on the left panel.
The two figures pictured were the patron and his wife, which was supposed to connect the viewers
with the piece and Christianity as well. The trend of making the artwork more realistic appears
frequently, and artists did so through making the holy figures more humanly. Looking at earlier
pieces created in the Middle Ages, the Virgin Mary, Saints, and other holy figures were depicted as
on a higher, more heavenly level. Artists would elevate the feet, have them facing away from the
viewer, and be depicted as highly stylized. However, as shown in The Annunciation Triptych,
Campin and his workshop aspired for the viewers and the general public to feel more connected to
their religion. Altarpieces were used commonly in early European s homes, leading the artist to
create a typical household scene in the second panel where Mary and the angel were pictured. Thus
adding to the connection between the viewer and the Christian religion. Another altarpiece, the
Isenheim Altarpiece, shares similar

How the Increase of R Certified Movies is Impacting American Society Imagine a family walks

see the hot new chick flick movie that is rated PG 13, the daughter wants to see the cute new
children s movie that is rated G, but the father has absolutely no interest in either and wants to go
see the exciting new R rated action movie. The family debates the issue at hand and analyzes
whether the R rated movie is appropriate for their daughter to watch. The first thing that must be
understood is what qualifies a movie for an R certification. This R certification can be issued
because of many different reasons for example; clear and convincing actively flowing blood (not
a puddle or a bit of red makeup on an actor), frequent use of vulgar language, nudity, and clear and
convincing drug use (Rebecca, 2010). To fully understand where the Motion Picture Association
of America comes from with their certifications, there must be some background knowledge of
the former certification system called the Hays Code. The Hays Code was implemented in 1930
and, while it may not be used anymore, inspired the Motion Picture Association of America s
certification system; the Hays Code is religion based, several of the ideas have been reformed
today, and moralistic in fact, one of the general principals is No picture shall be produced that will

Hunting Rifle Ammunition Based on Game Size Essay
Every type of hunting ammunition is designed for different sizes of game. In fact there are several
different types to choose from, but which one is the right choice? For instance there are many
different ways to decide what ammo to use. Specifically the best way to decide is to choose by the
size of the animal that is to be hunted. For instance there are three different size groups that all
hunters can use to help them choose the best ammunition for their hunt.
First of all we have the class known as small game. In example, small game includes animals such
as squirrels, rabbits, birds, snakes, varmints, coyotes, ETC... While any rifle will work for taking
out small game, some larger caliber rounds provide unnecessary overkill. ... Show more content on

Secondly we have the mid sized game. Which is bigger than most varmints, but still smaller than
most deer; this is what makes antelope, mountain goats and sheep a unique challenge compared to
hunting a deer or a similar large animal. Thus using a round that ranges from a .25/06 to a .270,
is preferred with this size game. Hence it is recommended to use bullets that weigh somewhere
around 100 grains. Since they have a lower weighing lead, it causes the bullet to travel faster
which would be ideal for longer shots. Generally shots of 200 300 feet are needed when hunting
antelope and mountain goats, because of their habitat being in areas with open terrain and usually
having cliffs.
Next we have the third and final class of game sizes, which would be the big game. While
hunting smaller animals may be fun, most hunters choose to step it up a bit and to hunt big
game. For instance, big game includes animals such as deer, bears, elk, boar, and more. For this

Athenos Hummus
Kraft Athenos Hummus:
Marketing through sports
Executive Summary
Hummus is already a popular choice among endurance athletes. Competition among brands within
this portion of the target market is important and therefore, should become a focus of the Athenos
brand. Athenos has not yet utilized sports marketing to promote the brand, but with a focus on the
hummus products, a sports overlay can be very effective to target key consumers. Athenos currently
falls behind Sabra as the market leader in hummus and because neither brand currently markets their
products through sports, this is a vital opportunity for Athenos to increase their market share and
gain popularity among consumers.

Athenos is sold in the refrigeration section of most major local grocery stores placed alongside
other snack dips and spreads. Athenos should continue to distribute to major grocery store chains as
hummus is popular as a convenient healthy snack purchase. Athenos is marketed through individual
retail sales by way of wholesale to grocery chains rather than through large quantity sales to
restaurants where the need is not as high. Outside of major grocery store chains, Athenos should
seek to sell their hummus products at selected sports venues specific to endurance sports in order to
gain sales within the market.
Promotion
Promotion is perhaps the easiest variable to use in an effort to develop a sports overlay for the
implementation of a mainstream strategy. (Fullerton, 2010). Athenos has most recently used the
Yia Yia (greek for grandmother) campaign developed by Droga5. Yiayia represents old world
Greece, Greek values, and most importantly she represents preparing food the right way. (Droga5,
2011). Most importantly her approval is a sign of quality and she approves of Athenos hummus.
The campaign was effective but Athenos still continues to struggle and remains behind the market
leader, Sabra.
Eating clean is an especially important concept for endurance athletes, who also fall into the

Cultural Integration And Cultural Assimilation
Cultural Assimilation is a procedure by which a person s culture is transformed by another culture.
Throughout the world, many cultures are being assimilated into the Western way of life. The
cultures of ethnic groups in the United States and other countries are constantly influenced by the
Western culturethrough movies, singers, clothing brands, food companies, and new technology
inventions. Immigrants are expected to resemble the dominant culture in terms of norms, behavior
and values. The three factors that contribute to cultural assimilationare: people throughout the world
are influenced by the western fashion and can buy the same products distributed by multinational
companies globally. The growing number of intra racial and intra cultural marriages advocates
cultural assimilation.
The first factor that contributes to cultural assimilation is that people throughout the world are
influenced by the western fashion. Clothing companies like H M, Forever 21, American Eagle,
Aeropostale, Hollister, Express, and Abercrombie have global markets that portrays what we known
as the American style. In the United States women s of any age are attracted to fashion trends, even
though it might go against their own culture. Immigrants in the United States are influenced by
Western fashion. For example, my friend Beyza used to wear a hijab before moving to New York.
However, when she came to the United States, she stopped wearing the hijab. Beyza comes from

If we skip back a little, in the first chapter of Vermeer s Hat: The seventeenth Century and the
Dawn of the Global World, Brook discusses Vermeer s first painting, View of Delft

one of the only outdoor scenes Vermeer had painted that is still in existence. The first window
Brook opens for his readers in this painting is a view of the city of Delft. This painting shows the

a window to talk about the climate change and sickness in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
In these two centuries, the temperatures were falling all over the world, creating increased sickness
and shorter crop seasons. In Vermeer s Hat, Brook says that the two herring boats in the painting are
evidence of climate change. Brook also uses Vermeer to talk about the exchanges in the seventeenth

The Frontispice And Incipit Of The Gelasian Sacrament
The Frontispice and Incipit of the Gelasian Sacrament, is the art from the first two pages of the
Gelasian Sacrament. While it is impossible to know for certain, since this piece was neither signed
nor dated, it is widely accepted that this piece was created by nuns in the nunnery at Chelles. The
nunnery at Chelles is famous for having cultivated the art of writing. 1 The story of the journey of
this codex is unknown. From the nunnery in France, this codex spent time in the library of Queen
Christina of Sweden, before heading to the Vatican Library. But other than these three location, the
whereabouts of this book through the century are unknown. What is known is this codex was made
for priest not bishops and was used in Roman churches in the seventh century. 2 Also, it has not,
however, reached us in its original form, but with modifications and additions made by generation
after generation. 3
The two pages are strikingly similar. They both use the same color scheme of red outlines, with red,
blue, green and yellow decorations. The figures used on both pages are similar, crosses, birds,
horses, fish, and felines. Also, the stylistic choice of putting figures inside circles was reoccurring.
In the Frontispice, the image on the left, there is a decorative arch encasing a cross. It appears that
the artist attempted to make the image symmetrical, with the line of symmetry running vertically

The first big experimental or avant garde film of the 1930s was L Age d Or, or The Golden Age,

The Seven Deadly Sins
The modern concept of the Seven Deadly Sins is linked to the works of the 4th century monk

Dna Is Not A Bodily Fluid
DNA is not a bodily fluid, but is genetic information that can be identified through a bodily fluid.
According to a scholarly journal article, in the Nineteenth century law enforcement agencies began
to collect, organize, analyze and store collections of DNA samples for forensic purposes (big

There are numerous cases that have been solved based on the findings of DNA through multiple
bodily fluids left at a crime scene. The case that I had chose was E.K MacDaniel, Warden et al.
Petitioners v. Troy Brown, which was a case that dealt with semen taken from a rapekit. Although
the subject of rape could a be a touchy subject for most people, I find cases that deal with such a

Reflection of Prague State Opera’s Performance of Verdi’s...
Prague State Opera s March 12th performance of Verdi s Rigoletto was one of great power and
emotion. Though the opera was sung in Italian and subtitles were only available in Czech, the
language barrier did not hinder enjoyment of the performance in any way. Throughout the entire
opera, the emotions were portrayed brilliantly and could be felt by the audience. The operabegins
with a short prelude that continues as a main theme throughout the entire opera. In contrast to the
rather solemn prelude, Act 1 begins with upbeat dance music. The Duke begins flirting with
Countess Ceprano with the first song Questa o quella. The strophic form and simple tune portray
the shallowness of the Duke. The song reflects the Duke s idea that all women are the same and his
lack of moral character. Count Monterone then enters the scene very distraught because his
daughter was seduced by the Duke. He begins singingVoi congiuraste which has a lurching, jumpy
quality about it. He then curses both the Duke and Rigoletto. As Rigoletto walks home, he is
approached by Sparafucile, an assassin, who offers his services. Rigoletto then begins an aria
reflecting on his current situation and his similarity to the assassin. The string and woodwinds help
to convey the solemn mood and we begin the to see the depth beyond Rigoletto s facade. When
Rigoletto enters his home he is greeted by his daughter Gilda. Afraid that the courtiers will discover
her, Rigoletto then tells his daughter not to go outside

The New Class Of Anti Diabetic Drugs
Abstract
Glitazones are the new class of anti diabetic drugs that are the first to be able to manage
glycaemia goals. Troglitazone was first approved for the market in 1997, but it was withdrawn
from the market by 2000. After the withdrawal of troglitazone, rosiglitazone and pioglitazone
were introduced in 1999 as potentially safer alternatives. However, currently rosiglitazone is
under black box warning for increased risk of cardiovascular disease and pioglitazone is in a
nutshell as the drug required more investigation. In this review, the potential ability to predict the
adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are examined. If it is possible to predict ADRs, should it be done in
the future.
Introduction
Millions of people worldwide are affected due to diabetes, 90% of them having type 2 diabetes
mellitus (non insulin dependent). Since 1921, drug therapy has been improved minutely and in
1950s the antidiabetic sulphonamides and biguanides has been introduced. Therefore, the arrival of
glitazone or thiazolidinediones is an important event (14).
Thiazolidinediones are being developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and insulin
resistance. Thiazolidinediones binds and activate the peroxisome proliferator activated receptor Оі
(PPAR), a nuclear receptor that regulates the several genes which are involved in metabolism. The
PPAR Оі controls lipid storage, insulin sensitization and adipocyte differentiation. Besides the
metabolic activities, thiazolidinediones also have

Although the number of families with access to the Internet has risen sharply in the past decade, a
significant proportion of households are unable to afford the fees for these services. [1] It would
indicate that students from such households at an obvious disadvantage. The students, unlike
children from middle and upper income families, do not have ready access to the specialized and up
to date information and entertainment provided by this new media. Thus, it reinforces the non
digital inequalities.
Thirdly, possibly the next most noteworthy refuting reason is that service provision made possible
by digital technologies would benefit the elderly, the poor and minority. [4] The governmentcan
provide more tailored services for the public through database driven technology. [5] It provides the
opportunity for the public to obtain services from companies and government without visiting the
offices. It would allow government and companies to offer 24 hours services [6], for example,
individual can make the booking in advance anywhere and anytime they need by putting health
service online.
The final argument is that replacing traditional face to face services with digital ones place
burdens on the elderly and the poor. In order to access to digital services, the elderly have to give
up their traditional ways of doing things and learn to familiarize themselves at such old age with
new technologies

Ethnocentrism In Walla
In my observation of Walla Walla University I have seen ethnocentrism being a prominent part of
the campus s culture. Ethnocentrism is a commonly used word in circles where ethnicity, inter
ethnic relations, and similar social issues are of concern. The definition of ethnocentrism is the
belief that one s cultureand way of life are superior of other groups. This causes judging among
different groups and assumptions that there are inferior groups to your own. The roots of the word
are ethnic and centrism, ethnic means cultural heritage and, centrism means to the central starting
point. Put them together and ethnocentrismbasically refers to judging other groups from our own
cultural point of view. It s true we reject those outside our group, our customs, our food, our
traditions, our music, our religion, our beliefs and values. We think that our lifestyle is somehow
much better than those of other societies. The questions I found out through my observation of
WWU was why do people do this. I asked some people if they thought they were ethnocentric and
the results showed that most people think that they are not ethnocentric, but are rather open minded

Mussolini Fascism Analysis
The popularity of Mussolini s fascism among returning veterans was not only because of the
comradery that Mussolini shared with them, but also the role that veterans played in fascismo.
Welk (1938, 8 9), notes a publication in which, Mussolini campaigned for the right of returned
soldiers to lead Italy towards becoming a great nation and a new world power. In order to
understand how powerful this image was, it is important to understand the Post war Italian
economy. Though Italy had claimed victory in 1918, it came at the cost of the lives of
approximately 600 thousand Italian soldiers, and nearly everyone in Italy outside of war
profiteers exited the war more impoverished. Particularly, the transition from war to peace time
production was a slow and painful process. Thus, while Italy claimed military victory, the post
war economy was not only crippled but also disorganized. This left laborers eager to lend their
ears to a solution, and two powerful but contrasting ideologies to vie for their support. The first to
consider is Communism. A year before, communism had claimed an important victory in the
Russian revolution of 1917. The decisive victory of the Russian proletariat in Welk s (1938, 9 11)
opinion provoked Italian communists to encourage the same in Italy. The following years were
characterized by strikes, and worker s seizing the means of production, as the working class
attempted to seize power throughout the nation. One notable example occurred on April 10, 1919,

I have seen firsthand the effects of China s, One Child policy. I was in China over the summer of
2015 attending a summer camp sponsored by the Confucius Institute at CCD on the campus of The
University of Jinan. I encountered with a lot of students my age and I noticed that the majority of
them are an only child with an exception of one who had two other siblings; meaning that the
family had to pay the government for two extra children. The students and I were talking about our
families and I mentioned that I have three other siblings and their reaction was that of shock due to

The Miraculous Substance Of Radium Girls
In the early 1900 s radium was the latest miracle substance (Hersher Blum, 2014). Salesmen
promised that it extended lifespans, increased sex drive, made women more beautiful, and had
many other fantastic effects. The world was infatuated with radium and displayed this by putting it
in slews of items including face cream, bread, chocolate, suppositories, toy sets for children,
drinking water (as shown in figure 1), toothpaste, watch faces, and many more products. (List from
scribal.com, 2007) It was used often in pharmaceuticals and described by advertisers as nature s
way to health. Doctors used it to treat everything from colds to cancer. (Hersher Blum, 2014)
However, the magical substance that was radium turned out to... Show more content on

Figure 3 shows a factory worker who suffered from a lethal chin sarcoma. She was but one of all
the factory workers who suffered as a direct result of radium poisoning. There was one woman
who the dentist went to pull a tooth and he pulled her entire jaw out when he did it, their legs
broke underneath them. Their spines collapsed. (Hersher Blum, 2014) says Deborah Blum, the
author of the novel The Poisoners Handbook. Most of the women were dead before age 30, others
suffered longer and died soon after. It is now known that radium, shown in figure 4, is a potent
carcinogen (a substance the cause s cancer (Wilbraham, Staley, Marta, Waterman, 2005)). It emits a
form of ionizing radiation which includes electromagnetic radiation (e.g., gamma rays and X rays)
as well as particles (e.g., alpha particles, beta particles, high speed neutrons, high speed electrons,
high speed protons, etc.) (National Library of Medicine, n.d.). Acute studies have been done on the
effects of radium exposure on the human body by organizations like the Geneva World Health
Organization, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, and Monographs on the
Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risk of Chemicals to Man. As a result of their findings, The
National Library of Medicine states that sufficient evidence has been provided showing that

b. Internal audit
Internal environment includes factors that can be controlled by the company such as management,
production, finance, accounting, supply of materials, marketing, public relations (PR), human
resources, information systems, etc. Analyzing these factors helps businesses identify strengths,
weaknesses, then finding out the appropriate strategy. Marketing strategies, marketing systems,
marketing organization, marketing function and marketing productivity are included in the internal
audit.
Marketing strategy audit is about the marketing objectives of Kinh Do and how it relate to overall
objectives. It also concerned about whether Kinh Do has enough resources to achieved these
objectives or not. Marketing systems mentions the procedures for formulating marketing plans and
management control. The structural capability to implement the plan is belonged to marketing
organization. Marketing function is a review of the effectiveness of each element of the mix. The
last area in marketing audit is marketing productivity about how profitable and cost effective the
marketing program is. Kinh Do should use some techniques such as value chain, marketing mix or
SWOT as a tool to audit the internal environment. The value chain will show the marketing
systems, marketing organization and

Importance Of Community Service In Education
This semester I engaged in many different community service and civic engagement activities.
The activity that I did the most frequently would be volunteering in a special needs class room at
Vandever Elementary in Broken Arrow. I went to Broken Arrow Public School and actually know
that teacher that I volunteering with from when I used to peer tutor when I was younger. I peer
tutored from 3rd grade through 10th grade, switching between three main classrooms. It was so
nice to see one of the teachers that I looked up so much to when I was younger and who instilled in
me the joys of teaching. Volunteering in her classroom was very fun and nostalgic, but I do think
that she could have been more proactive with her time managementskills. While volunteering in
the classroom, I became very familiar with the classroom s daily schedule and their routines. I
found that there was quite a bit of time wasted in the afternoon. I was not entirely sure if maybe
this had to do with her students and their limits because most of them are only a half day or if it
was poor time management. Although, I think the schedule could easily be accommodated to
include more instructional time if the students in the classroom were able to adjust to that. In the
afternoon they spend a majority of their instructional time watching Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, or
Bookflix. I feel like if they divided their time as well they did in the morning they could get in a lot
more instructional time. In the mornings

Difference Between Alland And Alice In Wonderland
After reading Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and then watching the Disney movie Alice in
Wonderland, I found that there were a couple of main plot differences. A main plot difference was
that the poem the Caterpillar asked Alice to Recite was different in the book than it was in the
movie. In the movie, Alice recited a poem titled How Doth the Little Crocodile, and in the book she
recites the poem titled You Are Old, Father William. The Caterpillar is also portrayed much
meaner throughout the movie compared to the book. At the end of the book, Alice woke up her
sister and told her about the dreams that she had. It turned out that the sister also dreamt
something very similar. In the movie though, Alice had woken up her parents. I feel that the
meaning between the two different poems that are read aloud by Alice are very different. One
being more a story to follow and the other being a short riddle to solve. Each of them are
important, but in a movie context, I feel that the short riddle is a little easier to follow.
Wonderland is not supposed to make much sense, so if the riddle confuses the viewer, they are
able to think that it is just another silly part of Wonderland. The Caterpillar was not the nicest
character to Alice throughout the book, but after watching the movie I realized that that was
probably the nicest the author could have made him. The movie producers had him be awfully
mean to Alice. I think that Alice waking up to tell her sisters is a better way to end

Imperial: War of Tomorrow Summary Lead your base and army in Imperial: War of Tomorrow
where the world is devoid of borders and states. Featuring a real world map, conquer cities and
revive them to their former glory! Use a variety of modern weapons and vehicles, from tanks to
helicopters.
____________________________________________________________________________
Imperial: War of Tomorrow is your typical, run of the mill real time strategy game. The setting is
cliche: you will take the role of a decorated commander. Your next mission which is basically the
tutorial stage will be to return to your hometown and stabilize the situation. The game doesn t give
much of a background story, though it follows the cliche be a powerful commander, raise your
army, and rule the world plot. Despite the game barely providing anything new, it may still be...

Imperial: War of Tomorrow does a good job in giving you rewards for finishing quests. This give

missions are pretty simple and only range from creating a certain building, training a specific

a decent entry to an already bloated genre. It s worth playing and can give you dozens of hours of

Games With Simulated Violence Essay
Many games include guns, and have vicious ambushes. They are addictive and crazy. Violence
may be harsh, but can games with simulated violence teach lessons. Games are just for fun they

Many simulated violent games portray lessons that are normally learned in boring, regular, or old

The Importance Of The Ancient Greek Olympic Games
The Importance of the Olympic Games
Naked men running around competing against each other was once a common thing in the
Olympics. Even though it sounds pretty gross, it was a true thing that happened in ancient times.
The ancient Greek Olympics, although very long ago, have had a lasting effect on our society
today. According to World History teacher Laron Johnson, the Greek Empire started in 8th Century
BC. The Greeks have always valued competition; they constantly fought with each other as well as
working together to fight against other peoples (Johnson). They have given us a lot of our modern
things. Thus, the ancient Greek Olympics have had an impact on our modern society in global
unity, sporting events, and our obsession with sports.
The Olympics have always been a way to bring people together. Even when the city states were
fighting each other, they put aside their differences and competed peacefully. Mark Cartwright
states, The Games started with a procession which went from the host town of Elis to Olympia...and
on arrival at Olympia all athletes and officials swore an oath to follow the established rules of the
competitions and to compete with honour and respect (Cartwright). Basically, the athletes were
promoting unity among the city states by swearing to uphold their oath of truce during the games.
This unity has come into our modern games when athletes from warring countries can enjoy one
another s company, even if their countries hate each other. According to the author of the website

St. Augustine Confessions
The confession of St. Augustine instead of taking a purely autobiographical approach seems to be
a narration of the significant episodes in which God is revealed to Augustine. Writing at a time
when there were no other autobiographies to refer to, the only source that was close to an
autobiography was the epistles of Paul. Augustine s confessionsborrow a lot from Paul as he tries to
decipher the truth in the meaning of the scriptures through relating these scriptures to his own life
and journey to Christianity. His is a conversation with a silent partner. While Augustine talks
directly to Godand not man, God only responds through actions and not words. In this essay,

jolted like St. Paul on his way to Damascus. He declared that he would no longer engage in sexual

did not understand why he had to accept such a blunt command without questioning its logical end.

he had been so deeply rooted into. As a result, without questioning, the incidence that followed was

Exploring Various Best Practices That Can Alleviate...
Airports can often be described as small cities as they require efficient and effective management
to operate in a productive manner. Like small cities, an airport is comprised of a variety of
different systems, facilities, users, and regulations that are all interconnected. This complex and
dynamic environment has proven to be taxing on existing infrastructure over the past several
decades as passenger enplanements continue to reach record highs with a projected 1 billion
passengers set to travel worldwide by 2021 (Price 2011). For airports to achieve these lofty goals,
they must tie sustainability initiatives and objectives into the capital improvement budget process
which requires coordination with a variety of different stakeholders. This essay aims to explore
various best practices that can alleviate existing waste within the airportinfrastructure environment
in the United States and obstacles that may be encountered while attempting to implement such
solutions. It will also formulate arguments for and against the implementation of greener initiatives
from various industry stakeholders. The scope of this research primarily focuses on renewable
power generation, innovative terminal design, and passenger incentives to make greener choices
while traveling. These three components correspond to the critical components that make up the
airport system: the source, the experience, and the passenger respectively. The current
environmental impact of airports is one that leaves

Jealousy And Emilia s Death In Othello By William Shakespeare
Many plays and novels have a main theme that is developed by the death or multiple deaths of
its characters. Such plays and novels often make a statement about life and destiny in those

deaths of Emilia and Othello) in Act 5, scene 2 illuminate the overarching meaning of the work as
a whole. This play is a tragedy. Therefore, there must be a tragic hero, who has a tragic flaw. This
character would be Othello, and he has misplaced his trust and has been overcome by jealousy,
which ultimately leads to his downfall. In Act 5, scene 2, Othello finally finishes his plan for
revenge. He smothers his beautiful wife Desdemona, which ultimately results in Emilia s death and
Othello s suicide. The murder of Desdemona throws off the balance of nature, and the wrong must

Nowadays, in dealing with the rising of the technologies, students need to be encouraged to be
ready to obtain lifelong knowledge and skill in the learning environment. The understanding of the
concept of digital literacy has to go through long term development and its current appearance is
characterized by complexity and technology skills but also cognitive and attitudinal components of
behavior. (Reynolds, 2008 ; Reynolds, 2016) notes that definitions of digital literacy are often skills,

In 1923, Hughes traveled abroad on a freighter to the Senegal, Nigeria, the Cameroons, Belgium

favorite pastimes whether abroad or in Washington, D.C. or Harlem, New York was sitting in the

in his writing, and a series of poems such as quot; The Weary Blues quot; were penned. He returned
to Harlem, in 1924, the period known as the Harlem Renaissance. During this period, his work was
frequently published and his writing flourished. In 1925 he moved to Washington, D.C., still
spending more time in blues and jazz clubs. He said, quot;I tried to write poems like the songs
they sang on Seventh Street...(these songs) had the pulse beat of the people who keep on going.

  • 4. Case Study Of Charles Van Dorens Pleased to offer a report analyzing Charles Van Doren s case from the Existential Therapy perspective. Existential psychotherapy emphasizes that individual s confrontation with existence causes mental health problems. Irvin Yalom (existential therapist) recognizes four givens of existence or ultimate human issues that all people struggle with: freedom and responsibility; isolation; meaninglessness; and death. The goal of existential therapy is to assist the client in their exploration of the existential givens of life. This approach of psychotherapybelieves that all humans are capable of doing both good and evil. On the other hand, individuals need to be the authors of their lives in order to be an authentic self, consequently, reflecting on the kind of person they want to be by taking responsibility. Humans live for a purpose, whether it s to fulfil a duty, enjoy the simple things in life, or in this case form your own identity. Charles Van Doren , haunted by his lack of an identity amidst a family of overachievers, believes he is known worldwide as just The son of The Van Dorens. Towards the beginning of the movie, Charlie is approached by a woman who refers to him as The son to which he responds, I m Charlie. Pleasure. His reaction showed that he is not surprised, yet he wants people to know that he has his own identity. Similarly, during the interview with Dan Enright and Al Freedman, Charlie says that he teaches at Columbia, Same as Dad as he tries to assert himself. Later, he was referred to as a professor when he quickly corrected Dan and pointed out that he is just an instructor; however, for the rest of the movie he accepts being referred to as a professor, as the sense of accomplishment delights him. Furthermore, during that interview Charlie mentions his novel about a patricide and points out to Dan and Al that even his father liked it a lot. He is anxiously trying to validate his novel by indicating that someone like his father enjoyed it. The question is, to what extent will Charlie reach in order to build his own identity. Charlie believed that creating his own identity will bring him more freedom and independence from his family name. Dan asked Charlie to be on the quiz show ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. What Is CAPM Is An Asset Pricing Theory In theory, CAPM is an asset pricing model which states that assets are priced commensurate with a trade off between undiversifiable risk and expectations of return (Dempsey, 2013). It is based on certain assumptions like Modern Portfolio Theory, Arbitrage Pricing Theory (APT) and Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH) where investors are assumed rational under the Market Rationality. Efficient Market Hypothesis: Although all information may be reflected in the price of stock following the EMH, the application of CAPM amounts to selecting only relevant data from the markets to be imputed into the model, thus subjecting CAPM to predictions based only on the information selected (Dempsey, 2013), which may produce less than accurate results. Medicare is the biggest insurance payers in the healthcare industry. The Medicare reimbursements for providers are based on providers work, practice expenses, and professional liability. A relative value unit (RVU) is assigned to each of the three factors, which calculates the workload or expended efforts in caring for patients by providers. Among those, practice expense is calculated based on the actual expenses that practices invest in the process of care for patients, which is about 41 percent of total reimbursements. Adopting new technologies to comply with constant changes in rules and regulations of healthcare as well as improve care process for patients is a part of practice expenses. These misfortunes can be triggered by human action or can occur involuntarily. Ranging from natural disasters, to diseases, to internal or external conflict, each has been proven to be detrimental to the stability of the society. Haitihas recently gotten attention for being simultaneously affected by multiple crises; each of which helps to place Haiti in a trap which they cannot lift themselves out of without foreign intervention and aid. Officials in Haiti estimate that an overwhelming 90,000 to 120,000 children are currently forced into this practice, reflecting greatly on the lack of economic stability and growth within the country (2005 Trafficking in Persons Report). When thinking of sexual exploitation, forced prostitution and rape are often the first to come to mind; however, women of Haiti have been noted to consciously choose to exploit themselves. Furthermore, women will trade sex for a goods, shelter, or even security, in turn causing sex to be classified as an income generating strategy (Kempadoo, 84). According to a statistic pulled in 1984, 30 percent of the prostitutes from Haiti or from the Dominican Republic were between fifteen and twenty years old (Benoit, 39). Consequently, the numbers of individuals affected by trafficking in Haiti is evident of the presence and nature of crisis occurring. Haiti is extremely susceptible to the humanitarian crisis of human trafficking due to their unstable government, lack of law enforcement, and static economy. Although Jean Bertrand Aristide held the position of president, the society still suffered from brutal acts of violence. Due to the fear of being overthrown, the military acted in this way to divest the Haitian people of their freedoms (Americas Watch, 1). The Phillies are one of the League s oldest teams dating back all the way to the year 1883. Over the years the Phillies have acquired many accolades and accomplishments; although the Phillies are a decorated team for many positive reasons they have also become the league s most losing team, with over 10,000 losses. Although the Philadelphia franchise may have the most losses in any professional sport, whether it is football, basketball, or soccer, they have had many playoff runs and even a few World Series appearances. Throughout the winning and the losing seasons the Phillies have had some very good players, which went on to be a Hall of Famers, while many of the players were mediocre at best. Although not all of the players that played in Philadelphia were good, they had heart and drive to not let the rambunctious fans in Philadelphia not get the best of them. Whenever a family goes to one of these baseball games, the game may not be the center of attention for the kids or even the adults with the most entertaining mascot of all the Phillie Phanatic dancing around and being goofy in front of 20,000 people in the stands. But yet through the limited understanding of human knowledge and perceptions of God, they were not able to comprehend indefiniteness of God. One of the issues that Christians wanted to understand is the Triune God; in order to understand Trinity, it is helpful for us to know the existence of God. Then ask questions like; How the three Gods united and become One God? How should we understand Trinity? What are the positions and differences of Seventh day Adventist belief from Evangelical? The scope and limitation of this paper are to answer the questions above and my own understanding of God as I study the scriptures. Let us fully understand the existence of God, however for us to be able to comprehend God, we must ask God in a humble way to reveal Himself to us. As a result, there are more than 100 languages spoken throughout the nation, most tied to the particular ethnic groups from which they sprang. Economics and Education Perhaps the most significant impact of the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 has been the economic chaos which subsequently consumed the country. For five years following the collapse, Russia saw its comparatively developed centrally planned economy contract severely. It was not until 1997 that Russia began to show signs of recovery as a result of its new open market policies. Since that time, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country has grown by an average of 6.7 percent per year, largely on the back of oil exports, as well as a steadily developing service and industrial output. Defoe also rejects the traditional plot series, which sets him apart from writers like Chaucer, Spenser, Shakespeare, and Milton, who accepted the general premise of their times that, since Nature is essentially complete and unchanging in records, whether scriptural, legendary or historical, constitute[s] a definitive repertoire of human experience (366). Meaning that Defoe did not just reiterate plots from previous literature, which turn out to be romanticized versions of historical legends and periods in history. 1b. I believe that Watt is accurate and that Defoe distinguishes his writing from others by making an emphasis on the individual character. Most of the earlier writers based their prose around a test of faith or trial that the protagonist either passes or fails. Most of these characters signify bigger themes, such as Una in The Faerie Queen, who stood for the one true faith of England, and other characters were based around significant people in feudal system such as Queen Elizabeth I, or Saint George: Patron of England. Every part of the stories signified something more significant, whereas Defoe takes his novel and tells the story of Moll Flanders. 2a. According to Watt, this dominant theory of the time period continued to incline toward the use of traditional plots (367) in written works. Defoe s literary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most important and significant challenge in the big data is to preserve privacy information of the customers, employees, and the organizations. It is very sensitive and includes conceptual, technical as well as legal significance. Any collected information about a person, when combined with other sets of data, can lead to the finding of persons secret and private information. As big data expands the sources of data it can use, the trustworthiness of each data source needs to be verified, and techniques should be explored to identify maliciously inserted data (Jaseena K.U. Julie M. David). Big data gives us a significant opportunity in the field of national security, a breakthrough of diseases, medical researchers, marketing and business analysis, urban planning, and so on. But these exceptional advantages of big data are also restricted by the privacy concerns and the data protection. On the other side, privacy is a huge concern. Critical pieces of information of users are collected and used in furtherance to add value for any businesses. This is done by exploiting the insight in their personal information, and in most of the cases, users are totally unaware of it. The user might not want to share his/ her information. • 16. Functions Of An Efficient Portfolio A. Portfolio; feasible set; efficient portfolio; efficient frontier A portfolio is a group of financial assets, differing in possible risk and return, and is managed by an investor or a group of professionals. Generally, a higher return expected by a portfolio owner generates a higher risk as well, and vice versa. The mix of financial assets can range, and these can include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash equivalents. Stocks are considered the most volatile of these options and thus generate the highest return/highest risk, with bonds being one of the safer options, which only generate a low return/low risk. In contrast to portfolios with less diversification, which tend to be sub optimal and below the curve, the efficient frontier curve outlines diversified portfolios that are optimal. This is depicted by the graph attached. {See Graph 1} As outlined in the example diagram provided by YoungResearch, the efficient frontier adequately demonstrates the impact of diversification, showing how it is a factor in determining the curve s optimal portfolios, determined by the amounts of risk (measured by standard deviation of annual returns) and return (average of annual returns). For example, a portfolio with only 100% stocks would generate a large return of 12.5%, though also a large risk of 17%. This is the opposite to a portfolio of 100% bonds, where the return would be smaller at 9%, though with significantly less risk at approximately 9%. Consider the bundle with 10% risk and 10.75% return, which is the one composed of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. This may be viewed as a more favorable option for the investor, as return is higher than a portfolio with only bonds, though with less risk, compared to a portfolio with only stocks. {See Graph 2} B. Artists from the beginning of humankind have been inspired by the world around them. Examining artwork from the 15th 18th century, viewers can be shown a whole world that would be unknown to us without these artist s contributions. History, religion, and cultural events have sculpted the art world, and we can observe this through many pieces during the 15th 18th centuries. The trend of making the artwork more realistic appears frequently, and artists did so through making the holy figures more humanly. Looking at earlier pieces created in the Middle Ages, the Virgin Mary, Saints, and other holy figures were depicted as on a higher, more heavenly level. Artists would elevate the feet, have them facing away from the viewer, and be depicted as highly stylized. However, as shown in The Annunciation Triptych, Campin and his workshop aspired for the viewers and the general public to feel more connected to their religion. Altarpieces were used commonly in early European s homes, leading the artist to create a typical household scene in the second panel where Mary and the angel were pictured. The family debates the issue at hand and analyzes whether the R rated movie is appropriate for their daughter to watch. The first thing that must be understood is what qualifies a movie for an R certification. This R certification can be issued because of many different reasons for example; clear and convincing actively flowing blood (not a puddle or a bit of red makeup on an actor), frequent use of vulgar language, nudity, and clear and convincing drug use (Rebecca, 2010). • 20. Hunting Rifle Ammunition Based on Game Size Essay Every type of hunting ammunition is designed for different sizes of game. In fact there are several different types to choose from, but which one is the right choice? For instance there are many different ways to decide what ammo to use. Specifically the best way to decide is to choose by the size of the animal that is to be hunted. For instance there are three different size groups that all hunters can use to help them choose the best ammunition for their hunt. First of all we have the class known as small game. In example, small game includes animals such as squirrels, rabbits, birds, snakes, varmints, coyotes, ETC... While any rifle will work for taking out small game, some larger caliber rounds provide unnecessary overkill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly we have the mid sized game. Which is bigger than most varmints, but still smaller than most deer; this is what makes antelope, mountain goats and sheep a unique challenge compared to hunting a deer or a similar large animal. Thus using a round that ranges from a .25/06 to a .270, is preferred with this size game. Hence it is recommended to use bullets that weigh somewhere around 100 grains. Since they have a lower weighing lead, it causes the bullet to travel faster which would be ideal for longer shots. Generally shots of 200 300 feet are needed when hunting antelope and mountain goats, because of their habitat being in areas with open terrain and usually having cliffs. Next we have the third and final class of game sizes, which would be the big game. While hunting smaller animals may be fun, most hunters choose to step it up a bit and to hunt big game. For instance, big game includes animals such as deer, bears, elk, boar, and more. For this type of hunting, the best rounds to use are those ranging from a .243 Winchester up to a .338 win magnum. For instance, a good example would be a .30 caliber which is probably one of the best choices for this area. For instance, the heavier bullet generates more momentum that gives it a brush breaker type of effect, which allows the bullet to continue on its path through dense woodland areas. Though the opera was sung in Italian and subtitles were only available in Czech, the language barrier did not hinder enjoyment of the performance in any way. Throughout the entire opera, the emotions were portrayed brilliantly and could be felt by the audience. The operabegins with a short prelude that continues as a main theme throughout the entire opera. In contrast to the rather solemn prelude, Act 1 begins with upbeat dance music. The Duke begins flirting with Countess Ceprano with the first song Questa o quella. The strophic form and simple tune portray the shallowness of the Duke. The song reflects the Duke s idea that all women are the same and his lack of moral character. Count Monterone then enters the scene very distraught because his daughter was seduced by the Duke. He begins singingVoi congiuraste which has a lurching, jumpy quality about it. He then curses both the Duke and Rigoletto. • 34. The New Class Of Anti Diabetic Drugs Abstract Glitazones are the new class of anti diabetic drugs that are the first to be able to manage glycaemia goals. Troglitazone was first approved for the market in 1997, but it was withdrawn from the market by 2000. After the withdrawal of troglitazone, rosiglitazone and pioglitazone were introduced in 1999 as potentially safer alternatives. However, currently rosiglitazone is under black box warning for increased risk of cardiovascular disease and pioglitazone is in a nutshell as the drug required more investigation. In this review, the potential ability to predict the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are examined. If it is possible to predict ADRs, should it be done in the future. Introduction Millions of people worldwide are affected due to diabetes, 90% of them having type 2 diabetes mellitus (non insulin dependent). Since 1921, drug therapy has been improved minutely and in 1950s the antidiabetic sulphonamides and biguanides has been introduced. Therefore, the arrival of glitazone or thiazolidinediones is an important event (14). Thiazolidinediones are being developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and insulin resistance. Thiazolidinediones binds and activate the peroxisome proliferator activated receptor Оі (PPAR), a nuclear receptor that regulates the several genes which are involved in metabolism. The PPAR Оі controls lipid storage, insulin sensitization and adipocyte differentiation. Besides the metabolic activities, thiazolidinediones also have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The conversation was brief, but got me thinking on the ethics of earnings management. GAAP accounting is to reflect in good faith the company s actual financial status and present reality as is. It is not to present a manipulated set of numbers that paint a pretty picture. GAAPrequires recording of revenue when there is persuasive evidence of an arrangement, assurance of collectability, a fixed or determinable price, and delivery. I have found it difficult to decide what I would do if I were in Ben s situation. I know it is wrong for donors to inflate the value of their donations, but I would be afraid to say anything out of fear they might stop donating to the organization. Knowing my manager was aware of the overstated donations and did not care would make matters worse. Unless I had a clear plan to present to him, I would remain quiet. If donations stopped, individuals in need of medical supplies would suffer. In weighing the options, I see the pros and cons of each side. By letting donors continue to overstate donation amounts, donors remain happy, the organization continues to receive donations, and those in need benefit. On the other hand, if someone does not put a stop to the overstatements, they could continue indefinitely and grow bigger over time. Despite the rapid development and widespread use of information and communication technologies in recent years, scholars have drawn attention to the fact that access to these innovations is by no means even [1], and this has raised concerns about an emerging information gap in a society based on income and education. The students, unlike children from middle and upper income families, do not have ready access to the specialized and up to date information and entertainment provided by this new media. Thus, it reinforces the non digital inequalities. Thirdly, possibly the next most noteworthy refuting reason is that service provision made possible by digital technologies would benefit the elderly, the poor and minority. Ethnocentrism is a commonly used word in circles where ethnicity, inter ethnic relations, and similar social issues are of concern. The definition of ethnocentrism is the belief that one s cultureand way of life are superior of other groups. This causes judging among different groups and assumptions that there are inferior groups to your own. The roots of the word are ethnic and centrism, ethnic means cultural heritage and, centrism means to the central starting point. Put them together and ethnocentrismbasically refers to judging other groups from our own cultural point of view. It s true we reject those outside our group, our customs, our food, our traditions, our music, our religion, our beliefs and values. We think that our lifestyle is somehow much better than those of other societies. The questions I found out through my observation of WWU was why do people do this. I asked some people if they thought they were ethnocentric and the results showed that most people think that they are not ethnocentric, but are rather open minded to other cultures. As I will explain in my writing that this their response isn t true at all and that everyone is ethnocentric. There is no way not to be ethnocentric and it cannot be avoided. Mussolini Fascism Analysis The popularity of Mussolini s fascism among returning veterans was not only because of the comradery that Mussolini shared with them, but also the role that veterans played in fascismo. Welk (1938, 8 9), notes a publication in which, Mussolini campaigned for the right of returned soldiers to lead Italy towards becoming a great nation and a new world power. In order to understand how powerful this image was, it is important to understand the Post war Italian economy. Though Italy had claimed victory in 1918, it came at the cost of the lives of approximately 600 thousand Italian soldiers, and nearly everyone in Italy outside of war profiteers exited the war more impoverished. Particularly, the transition from war to peace time production was a slow and painful process. Thus, while Italy claimed military victory, the post war economy was not only crippled but also disorganized. This left laborers eager to lend their ears to a solution, and two powerful but contrasting ideologies to vie for their support. The first to consider is Communism. A year before, communism had claimed an important victory in the Russian revolution of 1917. The decisive victory of the Russian proletariat in Welk s (1938, 9 11) opinion provoked Italian communists to encourage the same in Italy. The following years were characterized by strikes, and worker s seizing the means of production, as the working class attempted to seize power throughout the nation. Difference Between Alland And Alice In Wonderland After reading Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and then watching the Disney movie Alice in Wonderland, I found that there were a couple of main plot differences. A main plot difference was that the poem the Caterpillar asked Alice to Recite was different in the book than it was in the movie. In the movie, Alice recited a poem titled How Doth the Little Crocodile, and in the book she recites the poem titled You Are Old, Father William. The Caterpillar is also portrayed much meaner throughout the movie compared to the book. At the end of the book, Alice woke up her sister and told her about the dreams that she had. It turned out that the sister also dreamt something very similar. In the movie though, Alice had woken up her parents. I feel that the meaning between the two different poems that are read aloud by Alice are very different. One being more a story to follow and the other being a short riddle to solve. Each of them are important, but in a movie context, I feel that the short riddle is a little easier to follow. Wonderland is not supposed to make much sense, so if the riddle confuses the viewer, they are able to think that it is just another silly part of Wonderland. The Caterpillar was not the nicest character to Alice throughout the book, but after watching the movie I realized that that was probably the nicest the author could have made him.
