COURSE DESCRIPTION: Cross-cultural and historical perspective on adolescence and biases regarding youth are explored in order to examine the issues of adolescence in the context of an ever-changing world. COURSE OBJECTIVES: 1. Discuss the basic components of different theoretical perspectives of adolescent development. 2. Identify the typical patterns of adolescent development, including physical development, intellectual and cognitive development and personality development. 3. Describe the basic issues involved in adolescent family and peer relationships, particularly as they related to the educational system. 4. Review the difference between normalcy and psychopathology in adolescent development. 5. Identify issues of concern in adolescence for which prevention and intervention are needed, i.e. crime and delinquency, drugs, adolescent pregnancy, suicide, depression, etc. 6. Discuss how issues of gender, social class, race, ethnicity and culture impact adolescent development and behaviors. 7. Identify networks/systems of services available for work with adolescents and their families. .

ABSTRACT : The question of youth moral quality in Tanzania since independence is the main question in this
article. From literature reviewed and observation, it was found that, since independence youth moral quality has
been declining exponentially. That is to say, youth of present modern society of Tanzania manifests a
continuous moral decay compared to youth in traditional society before independence and colonialism. Several
factors have been presented as roots for moral decadence among youth. These factors include poor parenting,
poor example from elders, lack of systematic study of morality, improper use of social media and internet,
superstitious beliefs and conflicting values of the past and present. The author of this article argues that, to
improve moral quality among youth in Tanzania, philosophical study of morality should be introduced from
primary school to tertiary level. This will help to form proper moral reasoning from childhood. In addition to
that, elders and other guardians should change their attitude to become proper example to the youths.
Superstitious beliefs should be abolished and good traditional values of Tanzania should be revived in society.
The author thinks that, good moral quality can be achieved when government and citizens decide to cooperate in
implementing the above suggested solutions. This work is divided in three parts, introduction, discussion and
conclusion.

This study aimed to investigate the factors of juvenile delinquency in Ajloun, Jordan from the perspective of employees at social institutions. A questionnaire was administered to 100 employees at social institutions to examine family, social, psychological, economic, and physical factors. The results showed that employees believe the family plays an active role in stimulating deviant behaviors in children through parenting styles, lack of supervision, and family conflicts. Social factors like peer relationships and characteristics of social institutions were also seen as potential causes of delinquency. The study recommended activating the role of schools and social workers in collaboration with families to help raise children and address their problems.

This document discusses using stories as a tool for moral education in kindergartens in Indonesia. It finds that while moral education is part of the kindergarten curriculum, few teachers currently use stories for this purpose. Stories can help teach children moral lessons in a fun way by providing examples of good and bad behaviors and allowing children to think critically about the lessons. The study examines one kindergarten in particular that holds regular storytelling sessions and finds that teachers play an important role in helping children understand the stories' messages. They also find that the way teachers view morality influences how they convey moral values through stories.

Personality develops through the process of socialization and is influenced by biological, environmental, cultural, and social factors. It is shaped from childhood through interactions with family, peers, school, work, religion, and media. Socialization involves learning social norms and developing a self-concept through roles and role performance within social groups. The family is the primary socializing agent, though socialization is a lifelong process as individuals take on new roles and statuses over their lifespan.

A questionnaire was administered to 100 employees at social institutions to examine family, social, psychological, economic, and physical factors. The results showed that employees believe the family plays an active role in stimulating deviant behaviors in children through parenting styles, lack of supervision, and family conflicts. Social factors like peer relationships and characteristics of social institutions were also seen as potential causes of delinquency. The study recommended activating the role of schools and social workers in collaboration with families to help raise children and address their problems.

Personality develops through the process of socialization and is influenced by biological, environmental, cultural, and social factors. It is shaped from childhood through interactions with family, peers, school, work, religion, and media. Socialization involves learning social norms and developing a self-concept through roles and role performance within social groups. The family is the primary socializing agent, though socialization is a lifelong process as individuals take on new roles and statuses over their lifespan.

This document discusses a study on juvenile delinquency from the perspective of employees at social institutions in Jordanian society. The study aimed to identify factors of juvenile delinquency related to family, psychological, economic, social, and physical issues. A questionnaire was administered to 100 employees at social institutions. The results showed that the family plays an active role in stimulating deviant behavior in children through parenting styles, conflicts, lack of religious faith, and mental illness.
