This document outlines a proposed approach to designing faith formation networks for the 21st century. It discusses moving from an education model to lifelong learning anywhere, anytime through online and digitally-enabled resources. A network approach integrates a variety of content, environments, and delivery methods to meet diverse needs. Content areas include caring relationships, rituals, learning, prayer, service, and more. Networks can include intergenerational, age-group, family, missional, and online components. The design process involves researching needs, developing themes, generating programming ideas, planning seasons of programming, building digital platforms, testing, and evaluating.
