The Need
    • The Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20)
    • Technologies assist believers
    • If we don’t take advantage….who is?
    • “…even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts
          1:8)

 The World’s population is growing…
► from 6.8 billion at end of 2008
                                    ► to nearly 8 billion by 2020
                                       ► and over 9 billion by 2050
The World UN Population Assessment 2006
Internet is Good for Ministry
• 25% of Internet users have gotten religious or
  spiritual information*
   – Sept 2009 – 1.73 Billion * 20% = 346M
   – 90% of children ages 5-17
• Never stops communicating – 24/7
• Every language, religion, lifestyle and interest
• Can you name some more reasons?
What It Is What It’s Not
1. Reaches the millions 1. Replacement of the
     who are searching local church
     online – LC provides support
2. Diverse - Cross-cultural and accountability
     mission 2. Free-for-all
3. “Asynchronous” & – Netiquette
     “Synchronous” 3. 100% Safe
     communication – Guard against abuse
4. Equal opportunity and hoax
Postive Negative
 People will reveal more  People will trust less
due to anonymity because of anonymity
 Evangelism works  But believers often are
  e not prepared to share
 The Internet is easy to  The Internet can be
  Access addicting
 Using the Internet is easy  The Internet has no limits
 The Internet is great for  It may be physically,
religious discussion and morally or spiritually
  debate damaging
 It has no boundaries  It can undermine your
                                 faith
