2. This costume idea would be good
to use in my pop magazine as it is
very feminine and girly. This is
displayed through the pastel pink
colour of the shorts, bold
statement pink necklace and
floral patterned kimono. The top
has a shell shaped cut-out at the
top to add more detail and
femininity to a typically plain white
top, which hints at the creative
side of the reader. The costume
goes well with the pop genre as it
is fashionable, appeals to a
younger audience as it is on-trend
and fun looking, and has an
uplifting colour scheme which
goes with the style of pop music.
3. I like this costume as it has a
bright, floral, flowing skirt which is
loose fitting, making the costume
more age appropriate. The
brogues and socks give the
costume a more mature feel, but
the small heels on the shoes keep
it girly looking. The top is baggy
and oversized but tucked into the
skirt to show off more of the colour
print, and there are a pair of
rainbow coloured reflective
sunglasses tucked into the top to
give the costume a relaxed,
casual look, which works with how
readers of pop magazines would
be quite free due to the fact their
occupation is school. This would
appeal to young girls as the
colour scheme makes it obviously
feminine and it is also something
which famous pop artists would
wear, making the audience want
to be like them.
4. This costume would go well
with my magazine as it has
summery, small pink printed
flower pattern over it which is
reminiscent of a young child’s
outfit. The dress is in a strappy
sundress style and is not fitted
but flowing so that it is not too
revealing. This links with the
youthful pattern on the dress.
The white purse also co-
ordinates with the costume
and adds to the femininity,
though also connotes the
idea of purity and innocence
which comes with youth. This
is why this costume would go
well in the magazine- as it is
appropriate for the target
audience and fits with the
image of the magazine.
5. These ballet-pump/brogue style
shoes are appropriate for my
magazine as they are in a baby
pink colour which the target
audience would like due to the
fact that it is a typically
feminine colour. There are also
heart cut-outs printed over the
shoe which adds to this soft,
girly image. The ribbon used as
laces is a unique feminine
touch and adds to the
imaginative personality of the
target audience. They would
work well in the magazine as
they are cute and stylish which
is what the audience would be
drawn to.
6. The costumes above are all ideas which could be put into my magazine,
as they all reflect the personalities of the readership. They all represent the
fun and feminine personality of the reader, and how she is confident in
who she is though at the same time maintains her youth through the way
the costumes are never too revealing or provocative.
