J. Randall Waterfield's investment firm joined with Environmental Operations, Inc. to form a new mining company called Missouri Cobalt, LLC. The company was formed to capitalize on the growing demand for cobalt from electric vehicle battery makers by acquiring a 4,000-acre cobalt mining operation in Missouri estimated to contain 35 million pounds of recoverable cobalt along with nickel and copper. Missouri Cobalt aims to begin full mining and on-site processing at the site immediately after necessary environmental remediation.
