Community health workers feel positively about using mobile health (mHealth) technologies to support their work. However, several considerations are important for effective mHealth solutions. First, the needs of end users, especially community health workers and the people they serve, should be understood and prioritized. Second, all relevant stakeholders must provide input into solutions to ensure functionality, usability, and potential for scale-up. Finally, the context including technology infrastructure, power availability, and data needs must inform appropriate technology choices. The key is developing people-centered mHealth solutions that serve program objectives and can work effectively in the field.
