Lead 15-20 children on interpretive hikes, learned natural history/ecology of area,taught children about
how to preserve the dunes, used conservation techniques to remove invasive species (European beach
grass,ice plant, etc.),practiced knowledge of animal tracking, botany and ecology when teaching
children: identified specific fauna evidence, how to preserve endangered plant species, schooled in dune
ecology, cleaned, organized and created displays in the Friends of the Dunes Interpretive Center for
public education.
Naturalist Intern June 2010-August 2010
Sunriver Nature Center Sunriver, Oregon
Prepared and instructed environmental education classes of 15-20 children, enriched the public with
Natural History Interpretive talks (20-50 people), accomplished raptor glove handling, practiced bird of
prey feeding techniques, cleaned raptor enclosures, administered rehab practices to injured raptors: prey
baiting, supervised aviary flight and tethered glove training, herp. care:cleaning displays, feeding and
looking for disease, assisted herpetologist in researching frog leeches: collected frogs, leeches, pond
