Currently assisting on a NASA-sponsored project for DOE dealing with the production of
Pu-238 fuel pellets for deep space missions.
Assisting with the design and construction of a gamma measurement sensor for detecting Neptunium
(Np) pellets (patent-pending).
Assisting with the design and construction of automated handling equipment for housing and tracking
Np pellets.
Assisting with the design and construction of automated metrology equipment to measure the mass,
length, and diameter of Np pellets before entering the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) for transmutation.
Creating technical writing documentation for instructions on operating, troubleshooting, and
replacing components related to automated equipment exclusively designed for the NASA project.
Carbon Fiber Project September 2013-September 2014
Assisted on a Work for Others (WFO) project for DOE dealing with real-time measurements of
carbon fiber production during the oxidation process geared to aid the automotive industry.
Assisted with the design and construction of a prototype measurement sensor using spectroscopy as a means
of collecting in-situ data on line conditions for process control and waste reduction during the
oxidation process (patent-pending).
Aided in inventory management related to carbon fiber production and shipping to offsite locations for

Organized a fundraiser to raise money to purchase eco-friendly household products and then went into
50 homes to teach residents about the environmental risks and hazards associated with using dangerous
household cleaning products. Changed all the lightbulbs in these 50 homes from incandescent bulbs to
energy-saving fluorescent bulbs and installed water-saving shower nozzles in their bathrooms. All of the
cleaning products, lightbulbs, and shower nozzles were given to the residents for free.
Set up a booth at a Girl Scout expo to educate younger Girl Scouts and members of the community how to reduce,
reuse, and recycle, and about the financial benefits of making eco-friendly choices.
