The implementation of diversity in predominately white collegesDoc Ife
The document summarizes a study on the hidden service requirements placed on faculty of color at predominantly white colleges and universities. It finds that universities hire faculty of color to implement diversity but then place hidden agendas on them like mentoring students of color and teaching diversity courses, which can hinder their scholarship, promotion, and retention. The organizational structure also fails to truly support diversity or change daily practices. It recommends that for diversity to be successfully implemented, the institution must commit to changing underlying structures and daily activities, not just hire faculty of color.

This document summarizes a presentation about implementing private clouds. It discusses key concepts in building reliable private clouds such as isolation, concurrency, failure detection, fault identification, live upgrades, and stable storage. It also covers challenges such as complexity, automation, configuration management, continuous delivery, communities of practice, testing, monitoring, skills like web operations, networking and storage, and high availability even during failures. The document emphasizes that building reliable clouds at scale is difficult and requires addressing many technical challenges.
The document contains data on various websites and organizations from different countries and industries. It includes metrics like SEO score, index page results from search engines, WCAG accessibility score, use of assistive technologies, and social media/link metrics for each site. The sites are ranked and compared based on these optimization and accessibility indicators.
This document summarizes Andrew Clay Shafer's talk "Making OpenStack Work: An Authentic Critique" given at the Open Business Conference on May 6th 2014. The talk discusses issues with OpenStack including a long feedback cycle with weak signals, the proliferation of projects with no foundation, and metrics that don't reflect real contributions or usage. Shafer suggests focusing on quality instead of timed releases, learning distributed systems principles, and handling dissent within communities.

Geothermal power is generated from heat within the Earth and can be used to heat buildings. There are currently nine geothermal power stations operating in New Zealand, located in areas with geothermal activity like Northland, Bay of Plenty, and Waikato. Geothermal power works by pumping steam or hot water from underground up through pipes to power turbines and generate electricity. Schools in New Zealand could use geothermal power since it is readily available from existing power stations and would provide a cheap heating option.
The document discusses key concepts of the Christian worldview including creation, fall, redemption, and consummation. It defines a worldview as a framework through which people view the world. The creation section notes how Genesis describes humans being made in God's image to be responsible for the earth. It discusses how everything God made was good. The fall section notes how rebellion led to broken relationships between humanity and God, each other, creation, and a loss of shalom.

Solar power is a renewable energy source that uses sunlight to generate electricity through solar panels. It provides a huge amount of energy from the sun, enough to power the earth for over 45 minutes. In New Zealand, solar power is commonly used to power street lamps, buildings, and small devices. Solar panels absorb heat from sunlight which boils a liquid to create steam and spin a turbine, generating electricity. The document suggests that solar power could be used at a school by installing solar panels on the many roofs to help power computers, calculators, and potentially heaters.
Hindus and Buddhists have historically resided in Kashmir for thousands of years, until Islam invaded a few hundred years ago. This led to the genocide and forced exodus of around 300,000 Kashmiri Hindus and Buddhists from their homeland. Hindus are now not allowed access to important pilgrimage sites in Kashmir because they are not Muslim. There have been terrorist attacks against Hindu pilgrims visiting the Amarnath cave, an important Hindu shrine, showing intolerance towards Hindus practicing their religion in Kashmir.
The document discusses seeking a poetic discovery or "well of milk" within dense urban spaces through phenomenological inquiry. The document discusses the importance of recruiting, developing, and retaining minority teachers in K-12 public education. It notes that while student diversity is increasing, the teaching population is becoming less diverse. Minority teachers play an important role by bringing positive role models and varied perspectives for minority students. The authors argue that educational leaders need to identify ways to close the growing gap between student and teacher diversity.

This document discusses the longstanding problem of disconnect between campus courses and field experiences in university-based teacher education programs. It describes how campus courses are often taught separately from field placements with little coordination and guidance for connecting the two. Current efforts are exploring ways to create "hybrid spaces" where academic and practitioner knowledge come together in less hierarchical ways to better support teacher learning. The document argues this type of integrated approach between university and schools is needed for teacher education programs to fulfill their mission of preparing effective teachers.
Williams, Monica national focus on postmodernism in higher educationWilliam Kritsonis
This article examines the integration of postmodernism in higher education. It discusses how postmodernism challenges traditional education approaches and how higher education institutions need to implement more innovative teaching styles to prepare students for the future. The article also addresses issues like the lack of resources at minority-serving institutions, such as historically black colleges and universities, and how this educational disparity can be addressed. Overall, the article argues that higher education must embrace postmodern strategies in order to continue adapting to changing needs and remain relevant in the 21st century.

The document discusses the influence of principals on school culture in light of increasing diversity in US schools. It argues that principals must embrace cultural diversity and promote acceptance of all students to create a supportive environment where students feel valued. Specifically, the summary discusses how principals should hire a multicultural staff, acknowledge cultural differences, and make all students feel special and accepted regardless of race or background to develop a culturally diverse school culture.

This document summarizes a classroom activity designed to help education students visualize how Stanovich's four factors of reading development - cognitive consequences, developmental change, reciprocal causation, and organism-environment correlation - differently influence each student's reading history. Students used play dough to represent the four factors around "history circles" on a paper, creating a "flower garden" visualization of diverse student histories. The activity helped students see each student as a unique "flower" requiring individualized support to develop reading skills.

This article summarizes a classroom activity designed to help education students visualize how individual learners are influenced by four factors that affect the learning process: cognitive consequences, developmental change, reciprocal causation, and organism-environment correlation. Participants were given play dough in different colors representing the four factors and asked to use it to illustrate connections between the factors on a paper with circles labeled "history". The goal was to demonstrate both the cognitive and practical aspects of understanding diverse learners and how each learner's history is uniquely shaped by the interaction of these four influences.
CRITICAL THEORY AND PRESERVICE ART EDUCATION: ONE ART TEACHER EDUCATOR’S JOU...Orked Faudzan
This dissertation examines the author's experience providing inclusion training to preservice art teachers through the lens of critical theory. As an art teacher, the author initially struggled to effectively teach students with disabilities due to a lack of disability-specific training. This motivated the author to investigate how to better prepare art teachers for inclusion. The study involved conducting seminars on inclusion for seven preservice art teachers, applying principles of critical theory. Data sources included interviews and questionnaires with the preservice teachers. The findings showed critical theory impacted the author's teaching philosophy and identity as a teacher educator. It also helped the preservice teachers develop their teaching identities and competence in addressing educational dilemmas regarding inclusion. The implications suggest how critical theory can enhance inclusion training for

This article explores three major theories of learning and student development: classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and information processing theory. Classical conditioning posits that learning occurs through strategic stimuli that create conditioned responses in students. Operant conditioning argues that reinforcement or punishment shapes students' innate behaviors. Information processing theory views students as actively processing new information based on their background and experiences. While each theory offers insights, they also have limitations in fully explaining the complexity of learning. Educational leaders should consider the strengths and weaknesses of these theories in designing learning environments and interventions.
This chapter examines research on learning in inclusive education. It defines inclusive education as aiming to transform school cultures to increase access, acceptance, participation, and achievement for all students. The chapter reviews two strands of inclusive education research - whole-school research and classroom-based research. It analyzes how different views of learning have informed this work and calls for future research to consider additional learning theories.
This article argues that postmodernism can be used to improve educational practices and better serve students. It challenges the status quo in public schools by claiming that maintaining existing practices is easier and more cost effective but does not best serve students. The article advocates breaking rules and conventions to stimulate new ideas about how to reform educational systems and practices from a postmodern perspective in order to prioritize student needs.

How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17Celine George
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.
THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

ABSTRACT
This article examines one component of a fast-track teacher certification program designed
for postbaccalaureate preservice teacher candidates recruited to teach in high need
secondary schools. While the authors feel the integrated nature of this particular program
