This document discusses cooperatives and building broadband internet access. It outlines seven cooperative principles including open membership, democratic control, member economic participation, autonomy and independence, education and training, cooperation among cooperatives, and concern for community. It discusses a vision for generative economies and owning our future through living purpose, rooted membership, mission-controlled governance, stakeholder finance, and ethical networks. An example is given of the Northeast Investment Cooperative which started in 2012 with over 260 members and $1000 membership shares.
