Continuos Deployment is the act of deploying software constantly. The idea is if "release early, release often" is good, releasing very often is better. It's not trivial. Automation is part of the battle, and testing is another. Learn to use tools like Jenkins and Ansible to move from deploying software once a month to 15 times every hour, and why you'll want to. In our quest to get to production faster, we've tackled culture, architecture and infrastructure: organizing ourselves in cross-functional DevOps teams, embracing microservice architectures, and deploying to the various clouds out there. Along the way we’ve learned some best practices about how to deploy software at velocity — things like automated releases, immutable infrastructure, gradual rollouts and fast rollbacks. Back in 2014, Netflix started building Spinnaker, an open-source multi-cloud continuous delivery platform that embodied these core principles of safe, frequent and reliable releases. In June Spinnaker 1.0 was released, with core contributions from Google, Microsoft, Oracle and Pivotal to name a few. Built on Spring Boot, its architecture is surprisingly familiar. During this session we'll give you a tour of how Spinnaker works, how we are using it at our clients, as well as what it could do for your continuous delivery pipeline.

You’re at the Cloud Foundry Summit, which means you are by definition a cloud-native enthusiast. There’s no question that building apps in this architectural style will produce resilient, scalable software in an agile manner, and allow you to operate it far more efficiently than you’ve been able to in the past. But you’ve also got a whole lot of software in your company’s portfolio that isn’t there yet. Do you have to resign yourself to the pains of managing those applications the old way until you can finally refactor them to be cloud-native? Kubo to the rescue. You can run legacy applications on Kubo without significant refactoring – pure and simple. As an added bonus, it allows you to satisfy the CIO mandate of running containers (check). But it’s far more than that – running those workloads on Kubo offers advantages over running them on traditional virtualized infrastructure. This session covers those advantages –resource consolidation, health management, multi-cloud and more. You can use tools such as the ECS CLI and Docker Compose for local testing of applications; Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline for building and workflow orchestration; Amazon EC2 Container Registry to store your container images; and Amazon EC2 Container Service to manage and scale containers. In this session, you will learn how to build containers into your development workflow and orchestrate container deployments using Amazon ECS. You will hear how Okta runs 30,000 tests per developer commit and releases 10,000 new lines of code each week to production with a CI system based on 100% AWS services. We'll also discuss how Okta uses ECS for parallelized testing in CI and for production microservices in a multi-region, always on cloud service.

Toute l’attention portée sur Kubernetes et les images Docker amène à découvrir des failles de sécurité plus ou moins importantes, avec un rythme de plus en plus soutenu. Est-ce que votre installation Kubernetes est à jour ? Quelle est votre stratégie de mise à jour ? Comment garantir la sécurité des images Docker, alors même que de nouvelles failles apparaissent chaque jour ?
