Whiteboards and traditional chalkboards are being replaced by newer interactive whiteboard technology in many classrooms worldwide. This technology allows for more elaborate multimedia presentations, engages students through interactivity, and facilitates multisensory learning through integrated audio, visuals, and the ability for students to physically interact with the board. While the technology is expensive and requires teacher training, it provides benefits like presenting information faster, appealing to students accustomed to technology, and allowing teachers to instruct from their desk. Looking ahead, future smart classroom technology may include interactive smart desks.
