Cooperative identity and values are highly relevant to Tanzania for several reasons. Cooperatives promote self-reliance, provide an alternative to globalization pressures, create employment opportunities, build a better world through enterprise, address the need for accountable leaders, and generate more profits for farmers by allowing them to bargain collectively and add more value to raw products.
