The document discusses how teaching children self-care skills and environmental conservation is important in Montessori education. It provides tips for establishing a self-care station for children with mirrors, cleaning tools, and organizing clothes. Children can learn skills like handwashing, cleaning, gardening, and using reusable materials. The goal is to help children understand cleanliness and caring for themselves and the planet.
The proverb, "practice makes perfect" is apt in the context of "Experiential Learning" which means the more one engages in an activity, the more proficient they become at it.
An emphasis is also placed on experiential learning in NEP 2020.
Experiential learning provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a particular field or subject. It helps students better understand the concepts they are learning, and gives them the opportunity to apply them in a real-world setting. Experiential learning also helps students develop key life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.
We learn from our experiences almost every moment. We remember what we do better than what we read or hear. Using this simple fact, making children (even adults) learn from their experience is effective. If the medium used is fun, it makes it that much easier. Along with fun, if we use adventure, nature, outdoors

The need to teach children about environmental care has become more urgent in our rapidly changing world. As parents, we hold a unique responsibility to nurture a generation of children who are aware of the environment and actively take on the role of Earth's stewards – individuals who safeguard and champion the planet's well-being.
Simple toddler Activities blogs | 2022 | Teach Your Child To Be Eco-conscious.JacobDennis15
The future is in our children’s hands. It is never too early to start to teach your child to be eco-conscious. As a parent, you play a major role in helping your child form a green mindset and develop eco-friendly skills.
In a society built around mass consumerism, it’s more important than ever to raise children who are environmentally conscious. We should strive to teach our kids to be mindful of global citizens who learn everything from how to avoid plastics to how to compost food waste.

Baby wipes are single-use, moist towels or cloths which are supposed to clean babies’ skin whilst diapers are being modified or for widespread health reasons. In widespread, they’re fabricated from tender, mild materials which are secure for toddlers’ pores and skin. Baby wipes in India already have a solution on them that normally has water, moderate cleaning sellers, and other things like moisturizers or hypoallergenic materials in it.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
2. • Lately, the Earth’s environment has faced several drastic changes,
thus putting our planet on the brink of irreversible climate change. Of
course, the reasons for this are the mistakes that we have committed.
All the mismanagements, emissions, and other atrocities have
increased the Earth’s temperature, melting ice caps, and increased
water levels. Therefore, to stop the progression of this imminent
disaster, it is necessary to teach the children to interact with the
environment so that they grow to play a protective role in the
conversation about the Earth’s climate.
3. Why is Teaching Montessori
Children Regarding Environmental
Protection Important?
Teaching children about environmental protection and
conservation at the Montessori level helps them
understand the importance of recycling and waste
reduction. The necessary supervision at the Montessori
level also allows them to understand the practices
concerning protecting essential environmental assets.
5. Safe-Cleaning Products
Children can learn about the preparation of a natural
disinfectant and an all-purpose house cleaner by mixing:
Baking soda
Vinegar, and
Water, salt
Micro cloth
6. Child-Size
Cleaning Tools
Allowing the children to use child-sized
cleaning tools will help them understand
the importance of cleaning after
themselves. These tools include:
Broom
Dustpan
Mop, and
Washcloth, etc
7. Importance of Conserving the Home
Environment
The following objects and activities can help teach
the children about the importance of conserving
the environment of their homes:
● Wet cloth for wiping and cleaning
● A small mop for floor moping
● Vacuuming
● Learning how to hang laundry for drying
● Folding towels
● Washing socks
● Putting toys away and rearranging them in their
spaces
● Cleaning and taking care of the pets
● Dishwashing
● Shoe polishing
● Watering the plants
9. Water Conservation
Water is one of the most precious natural
resources. And children can waste it if not
properly supervised. Thus, the Montessori
environment is the perfect place for them to
teach them ways to save water.
Some tips that they can be taught in this regard
are taking short showers, drinking tap water
instead of bottled water, turning the water off
while brushing, etc.
10. Encouraging them to Use a Reusable
Bag
Reusable bags are usually made of cotton or canvas and serve as a safe
alternative to conventional paper and plastic bags.
It is important to teach the children to use reusable bags while
shopping to teach them about plastics' role in polluting the
environment. It will also discourage them from using paper or plastic
bags.
Parents and teachers can encourage children to use reusable bags by
allowing them to decorate them using markers, paint, pens, stencils,
rubber stamps, etc.
11. Reusing Materials for Arts and Crafts
Used shoe boxes, cardboard boxes, or plastic
boxes can be used to teach the children about
organizing their stuff, such as fabric, extra
buttons, and ribbons in one place. In this
regard, the adults can teach children to make
their flower pots by making holes in the bottom
of a milk jug.
Children can cut the jug in half below its handle
and use various small materials for decorating
this “flower pot.” The adults can help children
sell them by making such materials and then
share the profit with different environmental
charities.
12. This activity is appropriate for the pre-schoolers
who like to get themselves dirty. In this regard,
parents (or teachers) can help the children by
assisting them in choosing fruits and seeds.
These activities help them get exercise and make
them bond with the environment.
The air surrounding their environment will also
provide them with healthy nourishment. Also,
the children familiar with fruit and vegetable
gardens learn to grow the connection between
food and environment, personal health, and
overall community well-being. Planting activities
also inculcate a sense of care and compassion
for the planet.

15. The following 2019-graph shows why teachers do not teach climate
change concepts to the students, starting from the preschool level up.
17. 1. The main idea behind teaching the children about self-care
activities is very crucial. This helps them understand the
importance of cleanliness and take care of themselves as they
grow. For adults, establishing a little self-care station consisting
only of a mirror hung at the child level for toddlers and
preschoolers may not be a big deal. However, for their children, it
holds a very significant value.
18. What is the Importance of Teaching
Children the Concept of Self-
Cleaning?
1. Self-cleaning allows children to learn the concept of looking after
themselves independently. This is because they make the children
realize that they can look after themselves without asking for help
from an adult. In addition, self-care stations allow the children to
gain skills in washing, to brush, and dressing themselves.
19. Necessary Tips for Establishing a
Self-Care Station
1. Before establishing a self-care station, the parents and teachers of
the toddlers can look at the following:
2. The adults should decide whether their child is more interested in
clothing or the bathroom sink. Here, the adults should focus on
educating their child about self-care according to his interest.
3. By placing a mirror at the child’s eye level, their adults convey that
they are providing their children with the environment that will
help them meet their needs. In addition, by placing the mirror at
their height, the children feel welcome as they can use their
“personal” mirror at any time.
20. • Installation of hooks and shelves to hang personal belongings can
also teach the concept of self-care to the children.
• At the places where things cannot be moved lower, adults can
offer stools to the children. For example, placing a stool to a light
switch up high can make a child habitual in turning off the light
every time he leaves the room.
21. The Personal Basin
1. The adults should allow the children to
use a large bowl as their basin to teach
them how to clean their hands. Then, the
child’s supervisor can pour water from a
jug by which the children can wash their
hands.
2. The water dispenser is also a solution to
allow children to clean their hands and
themselves. By opening the tap of the
dispenser themselves, children can brush
their teeth.
22. The Steps of Handwashing
Proper handwashing establishes a protective barrier in front of
germs and our health. Since children use their hands frequently in
touching and exploring things, it is essential to teach them the
correct handwashing technique.
23. The following are the seven simple steps of handwashing:
1. Wetting the hands with clean water.
2. Applying soap such that it covers all the areas of the hand.
3. Rub the hands thoroughly and briskly, such that the soap lather
covers all the fingers, nails, fingertips, and surfaces of the hand.
4. Scrubbing the hands for at least 20 seconds.
5. Rinsing the hands and rinse under the running water.
6. Dry hands and wrists with a clean towel (or allow them to air dry).
7. Use a towel to turn off the tap.
24. Dressing Stations
According to the Montessori
approach, the children should be
assisted in the tasks that they
cannot perform themselves. And
dressing comes under this
category. So, to help them in this
case, you can implement the
following ideas:
25. Points to remember
Having a low-hanging rack and shelf allows children to select their
clothing from limited options. Clothes included in this category are
socks, pajamas, and underwear.
A small basket lets them place their laundry before changing them
with clean clothes. In addition, having a basket with a handle will
help the child carry his dirty clothes to the laundry area.
26. What to Expect From Self-Care
Activities of a Child?
The adults should understand that their children might not be able to
perform the self-care acts meticulously like them. However, their
constant supervision and assistance can prove quite helpful n this
regard. For example, they can invite their children to engage in a self-
care activity where they can re-arrange their wardrobe.
27. Essentials of a Self-Care Station
A child self-care station can include the following items:
1. Hairbrush
2. Mirror
3. Toothbrush
4. Toothpaste
5. Tissue to help with nose-wiping
6. A small towel
7. Soap and water for cleaning the hands and the face. The adults
can break the bar soaps for easier handling.
