Introduction
Connect(ed) helps students find and connect with like
minded students who are ready to start their own venture
Problem
Get more students at the University of Alberta excited
about building scalable and repeatable businesses
Break down barriers between faculties and help create a
more collaborative environment on campus
Help students connect with like-minded students who
have complimentary backgrounds and skills
Solution
A web platform where students can connect with other
students who have complimentary backgrounds and skills
Collaborate on
sponsored
projects
Meet with
students and build
their networks
Build ideas and
create scalable
businesses
How It Works
Step 1: fill out short application that includes basic info
Step 2: applicants are internally screened by connect(ed)
Step 3: applicants connect with suggested matches
Business Model
Short-term: build traction and encourage students from
different faculties to sign-up for the platform
Intermediate: build relationships with small businesses
and organizations to add “sponsored” projects

better understand what value they expect from the service
Develop a landing page where students can sign-up, and
maintain monthly correspondence with these students
Follow-up with mentors to show improvements to the
model and receive feedback to continue growing
