Confidentiality requires healthcare providers to keep patient health information private unless the patient consents to its release. It is one of the core duties of medical practice. To ensure confidentiality, all patient information must be out of plain view and healthcare employees must receive proper training and management so that patients trust the organization and its staff to privately handle personal medical affairs. Effective confidentiality training for employees will be evident in the workplace and improve patient response to and trust in the overall healthcare organization.
