This document provides instructions for Concierge Desk student employees on checking out keys to student organization office spaces. It outlines the steps to verify a student's access and identity before checking out a key, including looking up their information on the key sign out database and filling out the sign out sheet with their contact details. It emphasizes only providing keys to students who are authorized in all areas of the database to access the requested office space.

1. This is a tutorial for the Concierge Desk Student
Organization Office Space Key Sign Out
Procedures. As you review these slides, please be
thinking about how you can contribute to meeting
our mission and goals and how you might grow
from your work experience.

2. Welcome to the Concierge Desk (CD)!
A major attribute of the Concierge Desk is the
copious amounts of keys used to get into the many
different Student Organization Offices in the MCU.

3. Student Organizations share office spaces and get
access to the keys through the Concierge Desk

4. As the Concierge Desk employee,
when a patron comes to the CD and
asks for a key:
1. Ask for their Geneseo student ID
2. Ask person what organization
office space key they would like
3. Look up if they have access.

5. • To look up whether or not a patron has access
for the key they are requesting, on your
computer go to:

10. Each Student Organization is assigned office space, with
specific people allowed access to the room. (1)If the name
on the ID is on the list, (2)have a phone # and (3) email
address listed then they are authorized. If name is not on
the list, the list is missing the phone # or email address
they are not authorized to sign out the key.

12. Fill out the key sign out sheet in the corresponding
blue folder (you will need to ask for the email and
phone number of patron verifying it matches what
is on the computer)

14. Make sure to keep out the blue key sign out folder
on the desk until the key is returned!

compartment!

16. Once the patron has returned their key, you may
sign it back in and put the blue folder back into the
key box in the correct room folder.
