What *is* a concept of change
• A "concept" statement is very specific and should not use language and words which are
specific to your text
• A concept is not the same as a theme
• A concept is more like a "theory"
• A "concept" statement is a clear and specific sentence that is a particular theory about
an idea about change, eg:
• "Different individuals will respond differently to change"
• "Change is the positive result of a challenging process"
• "Change involves overcoming obstacles"
• "Individuals who resist change will not learn new ideas and processes"
• “Individuals need encouragement and guidance as they navigate the
journey of change and new ideas"
• “Significant and enduring social change requires willingness and
cooperation by the majority population”
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that
only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward
in whatever way they like.
Lao Tzu
For changes to be of any true value, they've got to be lasting and consistent.
Tony Robbins
They always say time changes things, but you
actually have to change them yourself.
Andy Warhol
Life belongs to the living, and he who lives must be
prepared for changes.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
You wait for fate to bring about the changes in life which you
should be bringing about by yourself.
Doug Coupland
