CALL is a program derived from CAL (Computer-Assisted Learning) which is
implemented to language, but the use of computer here is mainly aimed at
providing a language learning tutorial program (Hartoyo 2006, 21).
In additional, Egbert (2005, 4) says that CALL means students learn language in
any context with, through, and around computer technologies form both definition,
the main focus of CALL is on the application of computers in language learning.

Web-based learning is a process of learning that is done by utilizing the internet
network, so it is often referred to as e-learning.
The Concept Of Web based Learning comparises many practical applications of
computer and internet in developing, administering, and conducting learning
activity such as the use of internet as the source of material, online course, online
assignment and test.

Kruse (2004) elaborates that web based learning generate a lof of
advantages such as :

- An affordable equipment cost per-students
- Better tracking, assessing and recording students’ presence and

- More personalized learning and material support
- Easily update content

7. D. Disadvantages of Web Based Learning
There are at least two major disadvantages of web based learning (
Unesco 2009 and Kateri 2009) which reported that web based
learning still lack of interaction among students and between
students and lecturer or instructor. The second is the lack of
multimedia in many WBT program, which is due to the limitation of
bandwidth
