Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development
Piaget s Theory Of Cognitive Development
Jaclyn F. Losquadro

Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development
Cognitive development is much more than addition of new facts and ideas to an existing store of
information. According to Piaget, our thinking processes change radically, though slowly, from
birth to maturity because we constantly strive to make sense of our world. He also believed that
all people pass through the same four stages (sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational,
and formal operational) in the exact same order. These four stages are required for one to gain
understanding of his or her world. As a result of Jean Piaget s early research in Biology, Piaget
concluded that all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through this they begin to form schemas to shape memory. As infants approach the fourth month,
they continue to show trail and error attempts to repeat and prolong fortuitous interesting events.
Their movement is more accurate, prГ©cised, and often described as outside their body. This
sub stage is known as the secondary circular reactions (Miller 2011). During the circular
reactions, the child becomes aware of what is referred to as Object Permanence. Object
Permanence is one s realization that something exists even when it s out of perception (Sugarman
1987). For example, the infant understands that the ball that has rolled out of sight still exists even
though it is not in view anymore. At around 8 12 months, the sub stage of coordination of
secondary circulatory reactions is seen (Miller 2011). Within this domain, the infant shows
coordination of schemas. He or she retrieves hidden objects but continues searching where objects
were previously found rather than where they were last hidden. As the infant experiences object
permanence, they begin to develop separation anxiety. At around 12 18months, he or she shows
tertiary circular reactions (Miller 2011). Tertiary circular reactions involve the infant showing an
interest in novelty for it s own sake. He or she begins to walk on it s own without a walker. They
continue to show lots of curiosity and interest. They may begin creating ideas and experiments. For

Investigating The National Check Fraud Center
Individuals should take the time to carefully review their bank statement in order to help secure
their own accounts and the things that banks overlook.
Inks that will make a Criminal Rethink
The National Check Fraud Center recommends for people to change the type of pen that he or she
signs with in order to protect him or her from falling victim to this crime. The majority of both
ballpoint pens and dark inked markers have a rich dye base. This simply means that switching pen
types can help protect individuals from check washing. There are security pens that have a
completely different ink base. Among water resistant inks, the inks gel does not allow fluid to
pass through it making it a safer pen. Gel pens have been found to be the most impervious pens
and have been discovered as counterfeit proof pens. These counterfeit pens are secure from acetone
and many other chemicals used in check washing. According to a recent study performed by the
National Check Fraud Center, a specific and inexpensive pen called Uniball 207 makes check
washing much more difficult for the check washers. The Uni ball pen has been around for over
125 years. Originally made of wood, this pen was first started in 1887 by Niroku Masaki and ten
employees in Tokyo... with these wooden pens history begins. When check washing became a
serious problem worldwide the Uni ball company business leaders began attempting to create a pen
to trump all others. Only a few years ago did this company create the

Marketing Schemes Of Monsanto, Major U.s. Pharmaceutical...
INTRODUCTION Over 88% of the American people want to know if they are consuming food or
using products containing Genetically Modified Organisms, GMO, according to the consumer

in a laboratory through genetic engineering, or GE, according to the non GMO project website.

Those organisms may be able to live longer, speed up the growth process, or withstand herbicides

In 2014, around the globe, nearly 500 million acres of biotech crops were grown in 28 countries.
That s at least 15 million acres more than were grown in 2013. (Penn State College of
Agricultural Sciences, the science of GMOs)It is important to research my topic because by not
knowing or being informed, we are in danger of losing a sound body or mind. Not labeling
genetically modified organisms can also cause multiple health issues, by not labeling them
people are at risk because genetically modified organisms can cause allergies and later lead to
sever defects and even death. This paper is not to debate the safety of genetically modified
organisms, rather to raise awareness about the social injustice of not labeling genetically
modified organisms. Though there is substantial evidence that rules in favor of the safety of
Genetically Modified Organisms, there is also a considerable amount of evidence that can
prove that Genetically Modified Organisms are not safe. Only 37 percent of the American public
believes that GM foods are safe to eat, while 88 percent of scientists believe they are safe ,
according to a survey conducted in 2014 by the Pew Research Center. However the two are
completely different social injustices. If Genetically Modified Organisms are truly safe, why are
they not labeled? Monsanto spends millions of dollars to change the genetic material of natural
seeds, into genetically modified seeds and sells them to farmers to make their crops.

Reactor Process Parameter Monitoring Using Plc And Hmi
Reactor process parameter monitor using PLC and HMI Abstract our paper outlines the basic stage
of operation required to automate the reactor. Over the years demand for high quality, better
efficiency and automated machines has increased in this globalized world. It briefly explains the
process followed by the industry to automate an entire plant. This project basically focuses on the
primary part of monitoring the parameters namely the temperature and the pressure. As the reaction
proceeds in the reactor the temperature and pressure of the same varies. The temperature and
pressure are measured using various temperature sensors like RTD and pressure sensors like pt100
respectively. Our aim is therefore to monitor them on HMI which is connected to PLC via a
communication cable. (Keywords PLC Programmable logic controllers, HMI Human machine

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pydimethylsiloxane
Polydimethylsiloxane is a silicone based polymer which is commonly used in huge flexible
electronics applications due to its unique properties such as optically clear, inert to chemical
compounds, and good mechanical strength when compared to the existing flexible substrate.
PDMS are the most preferred substarte due to its ease of processing and its biocompatibility
(Peterson et al. 2005; Ostuni et al. 2000; De Silva et al.2004; Tan et al. 2003; du Roure et al.
2005). (Abel L. Thangawng et al 2007). The mechanical strength of the PDMS is directly
proportional to the amount of cross linking agent integrated into the polymer. Increasing the
concentration of cross linker increases the mechanical strength of the PDMS and makes the PDMS
to be less... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fabricated sensor withstands mechanical deformation without damage and exhibits stable
electrochemical properties. Being flexible it finds lot of applications in real time day to day life.
Jasbir N. Patel et al 2008 developed a flexible glucose sensor using PDMS layers sandwiched
between the gold electrodes. Due to unique advantages such as optically transparent, flexible and
bio compatible it finds a role as implantable sensors. The size of the sensor is about 2 mm x 3 mm
with a thickness of 700 Вµm. The PDMS based glucose sensor is economical and easy to fabricate
and shows a linear response.
Anjali Khatri et al 2013 proposed a micro molded U shaped PDMS optical waveguide for
biosensing applications using soft lithography technique. Due to its low refractive index contrast
compared to SU 8 in the sensing region, it finds lot of application in biosensing. They reported
that PDMS based waveguides were exhibits five fold more sensitive than SU 8. Ease of
fabrication, high sensitivity and mechanical robustness of PDMS finds a promising and versatile
platform for biosensor

The Australian Pilots Association ( Apa )
Introduction
The Australian Pilots Association (APA) is seeking to establish whether they would be able to
pierce the corporate veil in order for the pilots of Xpress Air Ltd (XAL) to claim their former
employment entitlements from Kwik Air Ltd (KAL). In its struggle to respond to the economic
downturn, KAL incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary XAL, and its restructure resulted in 200
pilots from KAL being made redundant and re employed by XAL at lower pay and superannuation.
The APA becomes infuriated at the fact that newly employed pilots at KAL are offered the original
contract with higher pay. In advising the APA in their representation, the nature of the wrongful act
must be identified. Then, we should evaluate the companies legal identity within the corporate
group and the potential existence of agency relationship between them to figure out whether the
veil of incorporation can be lifted in determining the liability that exists for the parties involved.
Separate Legal Entity
In order to establish the liability of each party involved, it must first be determined whether the
liable party will be KAL itself as a corporate personality or its directors. The case of Salomon v
Salomon Co Ltd has established the legal principle of a company as a separate legal entity with its
own rights and responsibilities. This legal doctrine was reaffirmed in Andar Transport Pty Ltd v
Brambles Ltd when Justice Kirby held that the mere fact that the company may be owned or
controlled

Summary Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
A society s myths and legends are much more than stories. They represent the values, fears, hopes,
and rules at the core of that culture. Due to the significance and complexity of morality and
societal expectations, these lessons of life are taught to children in the form of symbolic stories
much like fairytales. In his book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis manages to
encompass the incredibly complex concepts of the Christian ideology, such as sin and redemption
into a fairytale like story. Using symbols and metaphor, Lewis creates the fantastic world of Narnia
with just enough parallels that his young audience is able to appreciate the Atonement and nature
of Christ in a format they understand.
In the Mormon church, the Spirit is often described as a burning in one s bosom (D C 9:8).
Burning does not sound very pleasant, it is reminiscent of the symptoms of a heart attack. Lewis
compares these feelings of the Spirit to something from a child s experience. When the Pevensies
hear about Aslan, they felt as if it had come from a dream with enormous meaning, simultaneously
terrifying and too lovely to put into words...so beautiful that you remember it all your life (68).
Good and bad dreams are something that kids have experience with. Because Edmund was
poisoned by sin, the mention of Aslan gave him a sensation of mysterious horror rather than a good
feeling (68). This explains the feelings of guilt one feels after doing something wrong, especially in

The Pros And Cons Of Cloning
Cloning A very controversial topic in the world today is cloning, some believe that it is very
unethical and we should not be cloning people. Cloning researchers employ a technique called
somatic cell nuclear transfer,t involves removing the nucleus from an egg and replacing it with the
nucleus from a somatic cell(a regular body cell, such as a skin cell), which provides a full
complement of 46 chromosomes. The egg is then stimulated and, if successful, begins dividing as a
new organism at the earliest (embryonic) developmental stages. This new individual is genetically
(virtually) identical to the person from whom the somatic cell was taken. It is a humanclone.(Stark,
Paul). The process of cloningfor research is even seen as dangerous to people. When we start to
clone for research, it builds a pathway for scientists and people to want to start cloning to produce
children. (Stark, Paul). Most of the world feels that it extremely unethical and if we turn to cloning
humans it could raise many health concerns. Yet having the majority think that cloning is very
unethical, there is still a community that believes cloning can help out the world in a greater way.
When you think of cloning what does your mind begin to think about? It thinks of the cloning of
humans, and many people are unhappy with the fact that this may be coming soon. However, some
people still like the benefits that could come with cloning. Human cloning should give us many

The Allied Powers of the First World War
I. Introduction
During the First World War (1914 1918) The United Kingdom was one of the Allied Powers,
fighting against the Central Powers (the German Empire, the Austro Hungarian Empire, the
Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Bulgaria).
In 1914, British Army did not have the power to fight a major war on the continent, and throughout
the course of military actions had to multiply in size fourteen times (Chandler/ Beckett 211). Nature
of the conflict that forced reorganization of the British Army, including raising one of the largest
all volunteer militaries in history, creation of the Royal Air Force, and use of conscription, as well
as facing modern and far more brutal weapons resulted in tremendous changes in the British
warfare. British commanders, experienced in fighting small colonial wars, had to quickly adapt to a
very different set of circumstances.
The end of War marked a decline in the respect of authority. Economical effects of massive
casualties, during carnages like the Battle of the Somme (1916), became felt and evidences of
Generals incompetence were brought to light (for example in 1927 publication of Lions Led by
Donkeys: Showing how victory in the Great War was achieved by those who made the fewest
mistakes by British Captain P.A. Thompson). The criticism intensified after the end of the Second
World War, when massive sacrifices of the previous war were put in perspective. Publication of
book like the Donkeys (1961) by Alan Clark or release of

The Daintree Rainforest houses the most primitive flora in the world and 12 out of 19 families are
found here, namely the Austrobaileyaceae and Idiospermaceae.
The break up of Gondwana:
In the Daintree Rainforest, a myriad of fauna found resembles the most ancient animals that once
roamed the land of Gondwana. For example, the most ancient member of the kangaroo family is:
the musky rat kangaroo also known as: Hypsiprymnodon moschatus. This small brown animal has
stayed the same over 20 million years. Also, frogs that come from the following families:
Myobatrachidae and Hylidae are originated from Gonwana. Such frogs found in the Daintree
Rainforest are: the Sharp Snouted Torrent Frog Taudactylus acutirostris.
Biological evolution and radiation during thirty five million years of isolation:
The Daintree Rainforest shows how this Wet Tropics location was once isolated as well as linked
with other rainforests. The national park contains tall and open sclerophyll and mangrove forests
on the western margins where it is dry. Eucalypts as well as sclerophyll have progressed from
rainforest stock and radiated into drier environments from the margins of closed forests.
The origin and radiation of songbirds:
Birds have evolved from Australian ancestral stock. For example Lyrebirds (Menuridae), scrub birds
(Atrichornithidae), and treecreepers (Climacteridae) belong to the most ancient passerine
generations

Infrared Spectral Ranges For Imaging Application
Abstract: Infrared imaging is widely used in biochemical sensing, medical diagnosis, and
astronomy. In this summer High Scholar program, we will develop reflection microscopy
working at wide infrared spectral ranges for imaging application. Reflection microscopy is based on
gold coated parabolic mirrors which make the microscope accessible to visible, infrared, and even
terahertz lightwithout chromatic aberration. Here, we will design and build a reflection
microscope, and obtain visible and infrared images of simple biological samples such as onion cells
to study a resolution and other potential functions of the home built microscope.
Introduction: An optical microscope is an instrument that allows us to view micrometer scale
objects in a larger image. [Carl Zeiss] The microscope uses a compound lens which allows to get
maximum magnification. The compound lens is made up of multiple lenses that have a
common axis, allowing for a high magnification to be possible. The microscope consists of
objective lens and eyepiece. The objective lens is a vital part of a microscope since the lens
provides a few different variations of power for magnification, and the eyepiece magnification
power helps multiply the objective lens power, which will create a large amount of magnification.
However, a microscope image is limited by a lens material. Glass (fused silica) is only transparent
to visible light and it cannot be used for infrared light. Recently, infrared imaging has been used

World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest....
World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest. Serious discussion about reorganization
began in Congress and the military department in 1944 and aroused much public interest (Trask
1997). Because the Air Force played such a large role, discussion of separating the Air Force from
the Army Air Forces (AAF) began. A proposal was created to establish one department for the
United StatesArmed Forces, combining all the military branches under one department. On 19
December 1945, President Truman sent a message to Congress recommending a single department
of national defense with three coordinate branches land, sea, and air. (Trask 1997). Management of

The National Security Act of 1947 not only created the CIA, but it also separated the Air Force
from the United States Army Air Forces (AAF). This act established a new Department of the Air
Force and the U.S. Air Force (Trask 1997). The importance of National Security in the 1940s was
still present during President Regan s administration in the 1980s. To strengthen strategic
deterrence, President Reagan revived the B 1 advanced bomber and approved acquisition of the B
2 stealth bomber (Trest 1998). The United States Air Force has adapted since the Cold Warera since
there is no longer a need for such a large force. The modern United States Air Force has aircraft
designed to destroy air and ground targets, and their cargo aircraft can be used to support
humanitarian aid across the globe. The United States Air Force is an active component of the
United States Cyber Command and combating cyber attacks against America. The Air Force has
created a Reconnaissance Squadron that operates Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The United
States Air Force has been involved in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, and is still active in
the Global War on Terrorism.
The National Security Act of 1947 created a cabinet level, civilian Secretary of Defense to preside
over separate departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It institutionalized the wartime Joint
Chiefs of Staff (JCS), established a National Security Council (NSC) in the White House to

Acts Of Terrorism And Political Terrorism
Acts of terror and political violence are inevitably one in the same. Terrorism requires violence
towards non combatants with a goal derived from a social or political view differing from the
target of interest. It also pertains to violence or acts of terror committed to achieve a political goal.
Political violenceis described as violence perpetrated by either persons or governments to achieve
political goals. These definitions are one in the same. However, what they don t include is the use
of symbolism behind their malevolent acts. Symbolism introduces itself when the use of
propaganda campaigns and statements is utilized to critically convey the righteousness and
benevolence of the terrorist. The symbolic value of targets also distinguishes terrorismfrom other
simple acts of extreme violence. Another seldom thought component behind terrorism is that these
acts seek to inflict psychological damage rather than demolish its material or ability to fight
(Matusitz). Terrorism exploits symbolism by using it to push an extremist agenda, commit graves
acts of terror and strategically target items or people of interest. Terrorism uses symbolism in many
dissimilar ways. The most basic of ways are established terror groups adopting symbols and flags
and associating them with the noble causes for the public. Most extremist groups incorporate
nationalist workings like national colors, emblems or historic insurrectionary symbols to
sympathize with the masses and further create a

Negative Effects Of Wild Animals
Not only do zoos cause physical damage to animals, but also, they cause mental and emotional
issues in wild animals. After all animals do display signs of consciousness, so they do have
feelings about being locked up in displays and cages around the clock. Recently, a group of
animal researchers signed a declaration proclaiming that animals are self aware. Alex Halberstadt s
article called ZooAnimals and Their Discontent stated, The Cambridge Declaration on
Consciousness in Humanand Nonhuman Animals was signed by a group of leading animal
researchers in the presences of Stephen Hawking. It asserted that mammals, birds, and other
creatures like octopuses possess consciousness, and in all likelihood, emotions and self awareness.
Several animals remember and feel emotion, so leaving them in a box all day seems slightly
torturous. Humans should have empathy for the contained animals. It turns out common shore
crabs feel and remember pain, zebra flinches experience REM sleep, fruit fly brothers cooperate,
dolphins and elephants recognize themselves in mirrors, chimpanzees assist one another without
expecting favors in return, and dogs really do feel elation in their owner s presence (Halberstadt).
These feelings sometimes have some dangerous effects, as animals can and do act out against their
aggressors.
When wild animals kept in captivity act out against captivity, they develop unusual symptoms
known to experts as zoochosis in some cases. The article Zoos on

Perceptions Of The British And Indian War
Perceptions of Britain
Many events happened during the period of time between 1763 1775, that changed Americans
mindset from then until now. Certain people and certain events during this time frame affected the
nation of the United States enormously. This time period changed the United States for better and
for worse. Certain people like Thomas Paine and Samuel Adams, tenaciously tried to change the
course of history; haven wars, such as the French and Indian war altered the perception of the
American people. These events and people were some of the many facilitated with the defiance
against the British. This essay will show how these altercations turned the People of the newly
formed Americas against the British.
During the time of 1763 1775 one of the occurrences that happened to affect the colonist s
perception of the British was the French and Indian War. The amazing thing is that the war itself
was not the main factor of the colonist s trouble with the British, but the time after the war that was
the cause of trouble. During the war the British fought with France around the Ohio valley for the
control of land. The Ohio valley was very important to both of the empires, because of the value of
the land and the strategic point it held in the years to come. Although both had their struggles
especially with the Native Americans that called this place their home. Most of the Native
Americans sided with either the British or the French, because they thought that if they had

Analysis Of Deborah Brandt s Sponsors Of Literacy Essay
Introduction: In Deborah Brandt s essay Sponsors of Literacy, Brandt describes the process of
how people become literate, the effect of their experiences, and influential people on their
learning. The term that Brandt uses frequently to describe those who have a profound influence
on a child s learning is literacy sponsor. She defines literacy sponsors as, Agents, local or distant,
concrete, or abstract, who enable, support, teach, model, as well as recruit, regulate, suppress, or
withhold literacy and gain advantage by it in some way, (Wardle 46). Essentially, Brandt is
saying that every literate person has had the support of a person or idea that inspires their desire
to read and write. The concept of sponsorship can be applied to fields outside of reading and
writing too. There are sponsors of science, sponsors of art, and sponsors of medicine. Similarly,
these sponsor help students learn to understand the principles of their individual fields. This paper
focuses on the sponsorship of first year and second year University of Minnesota Medical School
students from the Nu Sigma Nufraternity. Data was collected through interviews with four students
from this fraternity. The guiding question for this research paper was, Can Brandt s definition of
literacy sponsor be applied to other fields of learning, such as the medical field. If it is found that
the definition for sponsorship can be applied to the medical field, then sponsorship can be applied

In Praise Of The F Word By Mary Sherry
A few students will either leave high school happy or upset for many reasons. According in the
story of In Praise of the F Word, by Mary Sherry, she believe that it s healthy fear of failure, which
mean students can fail. Also, she believes that if a student is misbehaving in class, to threatened
them by saying I will flunk you in the class. By threatening the students, she strongly believes that
they will straight up and they will do their work. In other words, students care about more in the
grades then the actually learning in class.
When students flunk in school, it looks imperfect on the school and many more of other reasons.
Now the students have to retake the classes, because they were either not doing the work or just
didn t care about school. It starts to show how some students prefer to drop out of school for
drugs and etc. If they feel like they re not smart for whatever reason, their excuses will be oh not
doing the work, because I don t understand. When they can ask for help or get a tutor that will be
willing work out the problems for them.

Mammoth Cave National Park Research Paper
Geology of Mammoth Cave Kentucky
Introduction
Mammoth Cave is found in Mammoth Cave National Park that was founded in 1941. Currently, it
is the longest cave known in the world with approximately 350 miles of underground interconnected
chambers and passages. Mapping and exploration continues and seems like it has no end. Mammoth
Cave National Park is situated near Park City in south central Kentucky. It lies in forested and
hilly areas of three counties; Hart, Edmonson, and Barren. It occupies about 50,000 acres. A
landscape that is mainly covered by the solution features such as sinking streams, large springs,
sinking holes, and caves is referred to as karst. For instance, as shown in figure 1. The caves are

The typical paths found above the water level are canyon like and narrow as shown in figure 5
below. (Figure 5)
These pictures show a canyon found in Mammoth Caves
They have sinuous, curving channels and their heights are higher compared to their widths
(Thompson Thompson, 2003). Irregularities toward the local direction of slant cause paths
sinuosity. Canyons located in the Mammoth Cave run up to 80 to 100 feet high and 10 30 feet wide
but many of them are not that high and much narrower. Vertical shafts are created where water can
run down vertically alongside fractures (Call, 2010) as illustrated in figure 6. (Figure 6)
This picture shows a shaft created by water running down
Shafts are oval or round in parallel cross section. In their walls, many shafts have a series of drains
at different elevations (Call, 2010). Currently, water running down a shaft exit through the drain

My First Time on a Plane
My First Time on a Plane Personal Narrative
When I was seven years old I went on my very first holiday abroad, to America. I can remember
waking up at Five o clock in the morning to catch an early flight from Heathrow airport. I was so
excited I forgot about the daunting effort of getting up so early. My Mum, Dad, Brother,
grandparents and I set off on the long journey to the airport, then Orlando Florida. I remember the
white taxi van used to transport us to the airport with its incredibly tiny seats, which made getting
any sleep impossible. Sitting next to my brother, who was in a very irritable and annoying mood,
made this slightly harder.
There had been a major accident on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It felt a great achievement to actually step off the plane on to American soil. We then had to follow
some kind of rep. There was a huge sign stating United States Of America Customs with a huge
man sitting behind a bit of glass and not really looking at your passport just kind of waiting for his
shift to finish.
It was now time for the most boring part of going on holiday, the luggage belt. We stood there for
fifteen minutes and eventually I was relieved to see a bag emerge through the rubber flap, but
then having to wait another ten minutes to see the next one. I can remember how intrigued I
was about what was on the other side of the curtain. I poked my head through only to be
disappointed by a big man on a walky talky. We then hired a huge white six seated car that could
actually fit eight people with comfort. The first memory outside of the airport was driving up a
ramp and then having to stop at traffic lights and then watching these huge cars pass in front of us.
We followed instructions to our bungalow apartment but having to stop and ask for directions. My
dad was useless at following instructions although he was not helped by my granddad reading out
the instructions. But we did get there in the end. We all ran into the house (except my Grandparents
who walked in) to check out where we would

Grand Theft Auto Debate
A.Can you imagine a situation where an entertainment industry designed or created a video game
where you were allowed to kill any police officers by set them on fire, massacre them using rifles
and chainsaws? Do you think that anyone wanted to buy that kind of games? The answer is yes
and they already did.
1.Did you know the worldwide sale of a violent game named Grand Theft Auto has sold nearly
$2.3 billion? According to a CBS news article with a title Can a Video GameRelate to Murder ,
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a video game where the players can live in a world administered by the
laws of depravity. If there re people you don t like? Kill them. If you see a car that you like, steal it

So, for me, banning the sale of violent video games to minors is one of the best prevention methods
to put an end to this problem.
1.This legislation is to strengthen the present industry controlled rating system and to ban the sale
or rental any video games that are excessively violent that consist killing, hurting, dissecting or
sexually assaulting an image of a human being to those who were under 18 (Mears).
2.Retailers who violate this law will be fine and it also requires the game maker to put an 18 label
on greatly violent video games (Mears).
3.This legislation is really beneficial to our society as it can prevent youths in our community to
get engaged in any violent acts caused by video games influence. Restriction may not be a good
solution as there are some parents that do not care what their children do; they just allow their
children to do whatever they want. But, with government involvement, it was harder for the
minors to get access to the violent video games. Now, you all can see that banning of the sale of
violent video games to minors is the best way that we can do, as there are no other efficient ways
to put an end to this problem. What happen if we do not support this legislation?

The Importance Of Eternal Life
First, let s be absolutely clear on what God wants for each of us. He wants us to have all of the
blessings of eternal life. He wants us to become like Him. To help us do that, He has given us a
plan. This plan is based on eternal truths and is not altered according to the social trends of the
day. (Elder Jeffrey R. Holland.) My dear brother I wantyou to be sure that you know how much the
Lord loves you and to have clear that he gave us commandments, but at the same time free will.
This means that you have the power to choose how to live your life. As the Lord loves you I love
you too, and I want to see you shining and doing what makes you happy, but I can assure you that

We are to follow them in marrying and providing physical bodies for Heavenly Father s spirit
children. Obviously, a samegender relationship is inconsistent with this plan. (Elder Jeffrey R.

In The Family: A Proclamation to the World, the First Presidency and Council of the Twelve
Apostles proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the
family is central to the Creator s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. As we were
commandment to be fruitful and multiply we need to focus on the plan and follow this
commandment. Our responsibilities to learn and understand the doctrine of the plan, to uphold
and be examples of righteous marriage, and to teach correct principles in the home and at
church may cause us to wonder if we are equal to the task. We are ordinary people who must
accomplish a most extraordinary work. (Elder David A. Bednar Ensign, Jun 2006, 82 87.) The
Lord loves us and want us to follow the plan, but if we decide to do not do it is when we break
his commandments and when its consequences follow, and yes he still loves us. But he expects us
to live the commandments and to repentance whenever we break them. Do not feel attack by the
Church or by the ordinances instead ask for the guide of the Lord and pray with a humble heart

Black To Reality Play Analysis
BACK TO REALITY combines comedy with drama. It s a story that sends a strong message about
learning to appreciate life and that money can t buy happiness. These themes resonate well with the
mainstream audience.
While the message is solid, the overall script would benefit from more development. The areas to re
examine include the structure, tension, and character development.
The opening does a good job of establishing Dan s ordinary world. He s established as being a loser
and he s pretty unhappy with his life.
There are solid inciting events that are the catalyst for change for Dan. The first is when he finds
his wife cheating on him. The only concern about this scene is that it feels like a familiar scene
that has been done before when the husband or the wife comes home early to find their cheating
spouse.
The other inciting event is when Dan wins the lottery, but the idea of the lottery isn t well setup or
foreshadowed. Thus, it s a bit jarring to suddenly learn he has a lottery ticket and that s it s the
winning lottery ticket.
However, even after he wins the lottery, the script doesn t define any real goal for Dan. There s
no actionable or external goal for Dan to achieve. Without a strong goal for the protagonist, the
plot feels as if it has no clear direction. If the goal is for Dan to win his wife back then the second
act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

established as being rather immature and pathetic. Then when he wins the lottery he turns vengeful
towards his former clients. This makes him overly mean spirited. These scenes (with Tracy) don t
endear the audience to Dan. The scenes also don t generate strong enough humor. Then Dan does
drugs. Dan never does anything to redeem his behavior, and therefore, the audience doesn t root for

The Puzzle Of The 15 Puzzle
We have all seen the modern form of the 15 puzzle as children. (Temporary) The puzzle was
initially constructed with 15 removable blocks and the challenge was to start with the blocks in
the arrangement where 14 and 15 are switched (as shown in the figure below). In the 1870 s the
impish puzzle maker Sam Loyd offered a thousand dollars to anyone who could solve the puzzle.
He writes of how he drove the entire world crazy. People became infatuated with the puzzle and
ludicrous tales are told of shopkeepers who neglected to open their stores and of a distinguished
clergyman who stood under a street lamp all through a wintry night trying to recall the way he had
performed the feat (S. Loyd, Mathematical Puzzles of Sam Loyd). The reason for this madness was
that the puzzle had no solution at all. (2)
It is impossible to pass between (1) and (2) by sliding the pieces. The proof of this is very
interesting and it follows from group theory. Each move of the puzzle must involve switching the
empty space and some other adjacent piece. For the sake of convenience, let s number the empty
space 16. Now every move can be written as a transposition(a 2 cycle).
For example the sequence of moves can be written as a product of transpositions (12 16)(15
16)(11 16)(12 16) where we are following the usual convention of composing functions from right
to left. So, to create (2) we must be able to represent (14 15) as a

Fice Of The Governor Of India
Introduction
The office of the Governor, as envisaged by the framers of the Constitution has a lot of important
functions to perform and is of paramount importance. In a Federal setup like India, Centre State
relations carry a lot of importance and weightage in governance. A carry forward of the British era,
the institution of the Governor is not merely a figurehead, but performs the important function of
being an intermediary between the Centre and the State. Unfortunately, the post has lost much
respect and consideration nowadays. Sarojini Naidu, the first woman Governor of India once
famously remarked that she felt like a bird in a golden cage . It has become a resting place for
old politicians. The Governors are appointed by the President under Article 156, based on
recommendations of the Council of Ministers at the Centre, effectively giving a lot of power to
the Centre in matters of gubernatorial appointments, which allows the Centre to operate a free will
in a capricious manner in appointment and removal of Governors. The recommendations of
Commissions constituted for the purpose of suggesting alternatives to the already existing
situation were seldom incorporated. The above problems pose a critical situation not only for the
Federal system of India, but also attack at the very root of fair and democratic procedure. The
paper aims to look at these problems of appointment of Governors, and come up with
recommendations in order to tackle this falling sanctity in hope

Great Britain And The European Union
The recent decision of Great Britain to leave the European Union coincides with the recent election
of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States. Both events can be explained by using
economic and cultural arguments. In order to fully understand these occurrences, one must
understand the economic anxiety as well as the anti globalisation sentiment that surrounded the
Brexit movement. Trump s candidacy involves some of the same aspects, yet Trump s voter
demographic, the white, working class, must also be studied. In the end, it can be determined that
there is arguably more of a cultural reasoning to these incidences.
The instances of Great Britain s exit from the EU and the election of Donald Trump were both so
originally downplayed that when both possibilities came to light, the world was in shock and
awe. June 23, 2016 was the first shock as Great Britain held a referendum in order to decide the
question of whether or not the country should remain within the European Union. Brexit was the
winning vote. Political elites had been defeated and the complaints of the voters were heard. These
complaints stemmed from economic anxiety within the country and the demise of the support of
globalisation. The Economist article, Drawbridges Up , describes the way in which voters wished
to take control of borders once again in order to slow the flow of immigrants and refugees.
The Trump candidacy shares some of the same fundamental aspects of Brexit yet Trumps true rise to

Lorraine Hansberry was born in Chicago on March 19, 1930. Hansberry was an African American.
She was one of four siblings that include two brothers and one sister. In the 1930 s racism and
segregation was prevalent in the time. Her parents were civil rights activist Carl and Nannie

family was one of the wealthy African American families in Chicago. When she was five years

Persuasive Essay On How To Apply Makeup
How to Apply Makeup: Step by Step We all hit the age of first wanting to wear makeup, but we
all run into the same problem. How do we apply it? There are so many steps and products to use
but not everyone knows what to use or how to apply it. You can find many videos online of girls
doing their makeup, but today I will explain a step by step process of how to apply it and what
tools you should use. The very first step you should do is wash your face. This step should be
done every time before doing makeup. Before you ever do your makeup you should have a clean
canvas before you start applying products to your face. If you have dry, flaky patches on your
skin, you could exfoliate. Most exfoliating scrubs have small rough microbeads in them. As you
rub the scrub onto your face in circular motions, it will remove the dry patches. By doing this, it
will help to make your foundation go on smoother. After you wash your face, you will want to
apply a moisturizer, another extremely important step. The moisturizer will nourish all of the dry
patches that the exfoliator could not remove. Moisturizers are made for every skin type. For
example, there are moisturizers for oily skin, dry skin, combo skin, and nighttime and daytime.
You should pick a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type. You only need to apply a dime
size amount to your entire face. If you apply too much, the excess moisturizer will sit on top of
your skin and not sink in. You will want to let the moisturizer

Evaluation Of The Cross Site Scripting Attacks
A vast array of techniques is implemented to counter the cross site scripting attacks (XSS) that
only seems to increase in number and complexity day by day. However, all the prevention
practices to avert the XSS attacks can be classified based upon the place it is deployed. Validation
checks can be setup at server side, client side or at both end points.
1.Server Side Validation: Before any data is passed to the server or the database, it needs to be
systematically checked and validated to reduce any ambiguity, duplication and inconsistent data.
Over the years, a number of testing tools have been used in the web development industry along
with white box weakness scanners to detect any incoming XSS attacks in the real world. (V....

Furthermore, server side validation can be further boosted by the input validation techniques and
are capable of preventing XSS attacks. Bisht, Venkatakrishanan (2008) proposed several
techniques to identify the HTML inputs as an XSS scripts as well as examined various causes a

Sacred Twins Movie Analysis
Sacred Twins, Profane Treatment This is the story of the sacred twins, Thaues and Taous, and the
events that lead to them becoming the attendants of the Apis bull, as recounted in a letter written by
Ptolemaios to Ptolemy VI.The film is a tale of murder, betrayal, theft and the gods, and includes
scenes daily Egyptian life that create ties between the modern viewer and ancient Egypt. One of the
central themes of the film is the economic activity that surrounds spiritual life in Egyptand the
temple complexes. Another major theme is the legal structure that developed in Egypt around
economic activity and family law. These two aspects combine to form the major structure
underpinning the girl s narrative, creating a fascinating look at life in Ptolemaic Egypt. Temple
complexes in Egypts functioned as market places for a diverse range of goods and services.
People would travel to the city of Sakkara to seek answers to their prayers, bringing coins with
them that were quickly spent in the city. Pilgrims could purchase charms, potions, and favors from
the gods, converting their gold or silver coins into a less temporal, religious currency. This
attracted merchants and craftsman to the temples, creating an entire economy devoted to serving
the visitors. A ceremony such as the Apis bull funeral depicted in the film would draw in far
greater numbers of pilgrims and provide an economic boom for the temple economy. Service in an

fourth grade where the read to learn comes in. I think it is important for students to get in all the
different ways of learning. I plan on giving the students time to work in groups or alone. I think it
is important they learn to work with others as well as alone. I plan on using a lot of brain breaks so
the students have time to get up and move around. I like to do things with physical movement too.
This will give the students something to go back to to remember things. An example is using
movements while learning the water cycle. When the students go back to try to remember it, they
could imagine the movements and that may helpthem remember. I wantto give students as much
choice as I can too. I want to do this because it helps... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am going to make sure there is only a handful of rules. It is important for students to not to have
so many rules they will not remember them. A few rules I may have is, raise your hand to ask a
question or no talking when the teacher is talking . I will make sure I have the consequences
displayed around the room too. They may be something like, First warning teacher talks to you
about what happen. Second warning note sent home/call home. Third warning principal s office.
This will let the students know exactly what is going to happen. I am going to have a reward
system that is based on individual bevaior. Each student will not be given points if they have the
teacher talk to them throughout the day. This will go with any of the warnings the teacher gives.
The students will have a month to get a certain amount of good days. After each month is over,
the students will be given a prize that is determined at the beginning of the month. For the
students who may not be doing so well, I may have a system that if you get so many good days
you get a prize. This will help all the students

The Mexican American Invasion
Americans know it as the Mexican War, but the people of Mexico know it by a different name.
The U.S. Invasion. The borders of America after the Louisiana Purchase was finalized, went from
what is now Oregon s eastern border all the way to the very northern tip of Texas and into
Louisiana. But President Polk still wanted more land, so in 1836 when Texaswon its independence
from Mexicothey scrambled to get the new republic annexed into the U.S. This caused problems
with Mexico because when Texas signed the treaty with the U.S they, the Americans, were
convinced the border was the Rio Grande. The Mexicans, on the other hand, thought it was the
Nueces River. But the war became unavoidable once armed American soldiers crossed into Mexico.

This land that the Americans were fighting for was originally Mexico s land. However, when
Texas had declared its independence in 1836 America saw a chance to gain more land and hurriedly
tried to convince them to join the United States. It was only then when Texas joined the U.S did
they have border problems. This is because President Polk was power hungry and what shows
power more than how much land a country has? And even though the land did not belong to
them, nor did it Texas they still tried to claim it as theirs. Polk says I had ordered an efficient
military force to take a position between the Nueces and the [Rio Grande] This had become
necessary to meet a threatened invasion of Texas [because of] the Mexican force... threatened
[Americans] solely because Texas has determined... to annex herself to our Union...it was plainly
our duty to extend our protection over her citizens and soil. (Doc B) What Polk failed to take
into consideration is that by mobilizing his armies and sending them into the disputed land
Mexico had also claimed as theirs that it could be viewed as an invasion of their lands or an act
of war. Mexico thought they were invading and merely reacted to the fact that they had soldiers
from a country they were having conversations with. This whole battle that is responsible for
starting the war could have been avoided if the

Economic Inequality Within The Global Economy
Economic inequality can be defined by the unequal access to economic resources, in the form of
opportunities, wealth, capital, land, etc., which determine the individual s or the group s level of
power. Generally speaking, individuals and groups with high access to resources have high levels of
vertical and horizontal power, which in it turn generate more access to resources and power. The
unequal access to economic resources is institutionalized within a society. Thus, economic
inequality has far reaching effects and manifestations in other social and political institutions. In
addition, with increasing role of global economyon national economies, and the increasing
inequality in the global market, which is reflecting on increasing inequality in it turn increases
inequality within nations. Thus, the interest among political economists has increased in an effort
to understand stratification and to create policies which aim to elevate economic inequality
globally and nationally.
I will argue that the capitalist economic system is inherently unequal. Farther more, it thrives on
creating highly level of economic inequality, where resources and capital is concentrated in the
hands of the economic elite, while the rest of the population service to provide cheap labor
(specialized on non specialized) which increase economic, social, and political inequality in a
society. For that reason, I don t believe that economic policies can end inequality globally or
national (short from

Ck vs Warnaco Essay

Case Study Assignment: Calvin Klein vs. Warnaco Group Inc.
On May 30, 2000 The Calvin Klein family filed a lawsuit against Warnaco Group Inc for eighteen
counts of trademark infringement, trademark dilution and intentional misrepresentation. Nearly a
month later Warnaco answered with a counter suit, denying the major allegations and justifying the
dilution to falling within the scope of the two parities licensing agreement. The case study brings
forth information regarding fashion retailing, distribution practices and even the licensing practices
expected within the marketplace, however as a reader one should keep in mind that during the
millennium licensing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This mutual understanding is what was portrayed within an agreement between the two parties and
what worked toward success over the next forty years. This case study touches on many topics
within licensing but the three most dominant aspects within the Warnaco Group vs. Calvin Klein
suit are the agreements and understandings discussed with a contract, the rights to a trademark and
the rights of both the licensor and the licensee. While briefing this case study one can not help but
notice, stated on page 21, the agreements that are displayed in exhibit 1: Excerpts from Calvin
Klein Jeanswear Licensing Agreement. Here it is clear that the agreement, signed by BOTH
parties, states that Warnaco agrees to maximize the quantity of Articles sold, and will be consistent
with CKI s past practices. One can assume, that due to the prolonged history between the two
parties this includes Costco, Sam s Club and BJs store, which alone were held responsible for 150
million dollars in warehouse sales, just one year prior to the filing of the lawsuit. It is also
important to point out that this licensing agreement is not with CKI as the owner, it is in fact a
licensing agreement with the CK Trademark Trust being the beneficial owner to ALL rights, titles
and interest in or to the Licensed Mark. The licensing agreement then continues to state that
Warnaco controls any such act or thing which may cause any affect to the Trust. With the
understanding of licensing,

As we know the computer network and communication has brought many sophisticated changes to
the networking world, But it also made the network systems vulnerable to attacks by hackers
anywhere at a distance. These attacks usually start by interrupting the network through some host
and encouraging further more attacks on the network. The hackers usually use sophisticated
techniques in interrupting the network, they use some softwares which will hardly use some

Pre intrusion activities are utilized to plan for intruding into a system. These incorporate port

utilized by programmers to interface with the framework and figure out what TCP or UDP ports
are open and vulnerable against attack, which is called as scanner. These scanners will discover

Examples Of Machiavellian Characters In The Governor
Machiavellian Character Essay: The Governor Brian Blake, also known as The Governor,
presented a terror far greater than cannibalistic zombies throughout seasons two and three of the
hit show, The Walking Dead. He was psychotic; driven mad by the death of his daughter. Using
his position as governor within a small group of survivors and refugees of the zombie
apocalypse, he manipulated, terrorized, lied, cheated, many people in order to secure and
maintain his position of power. Out of the list given in the prompt for this paper, The Governor
matches at least seven of the twelve Machiavellian characteristics. The concepts exhibited most
strongly in The Governor, however, are the concepts of the end justifies the means and the use of
force to avoid danger. In the midst of a zombie apocalypse, the prioritization of self preservation
above all else is understandable. However, even when he had the resources to help himself and
nearly 100 other people, The Governor still slaughtered people who posed even the slightest threat
to his position of power. Machiavelli writes for although the act condemn the doer, the end may
justify him. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

uses force to keep himself out of physical danger. He himself says, after he killed is right hand
man the man who was arguably his most loyal supporter in this life, you kill or die, or die and
kill. In several instances, this has been the case. In one particular instance, The Governor and his
supporters happen upon a group of survivors, all of whom were members of the military, and
killed them all without a second thought; he stole all their weapons and food. Throughout his
lifespan in the series, The Governor has looked out solely for himself. He meticulously manipulates
people in order to maintain his position of power, and to preserve his

  • 3. Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development Piaget s Theory Of Cognitive Development Jaclyn F. Losquadro Hunter College, The City Of New York Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development Cognitive development is much more than addition of new facts and ideas to an existing store of information. According to Piaget, our thinking processes change radically, though slowly, from birth to maturity because we constantly strive to make sense of our world. He also believed that all people pass through the same four stages (sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational) in the exact same order. These four stages are required for one to gain understanding of his or her world. As a result of Jean Piaget s early research in Biology, Piaget concluded that all ... As infants approach the fourth month, they continue to show trail and error attempts to repeat and prolong fortuitous interesting events. Their movement is more accurate, prГ©cised, and often described as outside their body. This sub stage is known as the secondary circular reactions (Miller 2011). During the circular reactions, the child becomes aware of what is referred to as Object Permanence. Object Permanence is one s realization that something exists even when it s out of perception (Sugarman 1987). For example, the infant understands that the ball that has rolled out of sight still exists even though it is not in view anymore. At around 8 12 months, the sub stage of coordination of secondary circulatory reactions is seen (Miller 2011). Within this domain, the infant shows coordination of schemas. He or she retrieves hidden objects but continues searching where objects were previously found rather than where they were last hidden. As the infant experiences object permanence, they begin to develop separation anxiety. At around 12 18months, he or she shows tertiary circular reactions (Miller 2011). Tertiary circular reactions involve the infant showing an interest in novelty for it s own sake. He or she begins to walk on it s own without a walker. They continue to show lots of curiosity and interest. They may begin creating ideas and experiments. For example, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Inks that will make a Criminal Rethink The National Check Fraud Center recommends for people to change the type of pen that he or she signs with in order to protect him or her from falling victim to this crime. The majority of both ballpoint pens and dark inked markers have a rich dye base. This simply means that switching pen types can help protect individuals from check washing. There are security pens that have a completely different ink base. Among water resistant inks, the inks gel does not allow fluid to pass through it making it a safer pen. Gel pens have been found to be the most impervious pens and have been discovered as counterfeit proof pens. These counterfeit pens are secure from acetone and many other chemicals used in check washing. According to a recent study performed by the National Check Fraud Center, a specific and inexpensive pen called Uniball 207 makes check washing much more difficult for the check washers. Not labeling genetically modified organisms can also cause multiple health issues, by not labeling them people are at risk because genetically modified organisms can cause allergies and later lead to sever defects and even death. This paper is not to debate the safety of genetically modified organisms, rather to raise awareness about the social injustice of not labeling genetically modified organisms. Though there is substantial evidence that rules in favor of the safety of Genetically Modified Organisms, there is also a considerable amount of evidence that can prove that Genetically Modified Organisms are not safe. Only 37 percent of the American public believes that GM foods are safe to eat, while 88 percent of scientists believe they are safe , according to a survey conducted in 2014 by the Pew Research Center. However the two are completely different social injustices. If Genetically Modified Organisms are truly safe, why are they not labeled? Reactor Process Parameter Monitoring Using Plc And Hmi Reactor process parameter monitor using PLC and HMI Abstract our paper outlines the basic stage of operation required to automate the reactor. Over the years demand for high quality, better efficiency and automated machines has increased in this globalized world. It briefly explains the process followed by the industry to automate an entire plant. This project basically focuses on the primary part of monitoring the parameters namely the temperature and the pressure. As the reaction proceeds in the reactor the temperature and pressure of the same varies. The temperature and pressure are measured using various temperature sensors like RTD and pressure sensors like pt100 respectively. Our aim is therefore to monitor them on HMI which is connected to PLC via a communication cable. • 10. The Australian Pilots Association ( Apa ) Introduction The Australian Pilots Association (APA) is seeking to establish whether they would be able to pierce the corporate veil in order for the pilots of Xpress Air Ltd (XAL) to claim their former employment entitlements from Kwik Air Ltd (KAL). In its struggle to respond to the economic downturn, KAL incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary XAL, and its restructure resulted in 200 pilots from KAL being made redundant and re employed by XAL at lower pay and superannuation. The APA becomes infuriated at the fact that newly employed pilots at KAL are offered the original contract with higher pay. In advising the APA in their representation, the nature of the wrongful act must be identified. Then, we should evaluate the companies legal identity within the corporate group and the potential existence of agency relationship between them to figure out whether the veil of incorporation can be lifted in determining the liability that exists for the parties involved. Separate Legal Entity In order to establish the liability of each party involved, it must first be determined whether the liable party will be KAL itself as a corporate personality or its directors. The case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd has established the legal principle of a company as a separate legal entity with its own rights and responsibilities. • 11. Summary Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe A society s myths and legends are much more than stories. They represent the values, fears, hopes, and rules at the core of that culture. Due to the significance and complexity of morality and societal expectations, these lessons of life are taught to children in the form of symbolic stories much like fairytales. In his book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis manages to encompass the incredibly complex concepts of the Christian ideology, such as sin and redemption into a fairytale like story. Using symbols and metaphor, Lewis creates the fantastic world of Narnia with just enough parallels that his young audience is able to appreciate the Atonement and nature of Christ in a format they understand. In the Mormon church, the Spirit is often described as a burning in one s bosom (D C 9:8). Burning does not sound very pleasant, it is reminiscent of the symptoms of a heart attack. Lewis compares these feelings of the Spirit to something from a child s experience. When the Pevensies hear about Aslan, they felt as if it had come from a dream with enormous meaning, simultaneously terrifying and too lovely to put into words...so beautiful that you remember it all your life (68). Good and bad dreams are something that kids have experience with. Because Edmund was poisoned by sin, the mention of Aslan gave him a sensation of mysterious horror rather than a good feeling (68). This explains the feelings of guilt one feels after doing something wrong, especially in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Pros And Cons Of Cloning Cloning A very controversial topic in the world today is cloning, some believe that it is very unethical and we should not be cloning people. Cloning researchers employ a technique called somatic cell nuclear transfer,t involves removing the nucleus from an egg and replacing it with the nucleus from a somatic cell(a regular body cell, such as a skin cell), which provides a full complement of 46 chromosomes. The egg is then stimulated and, if successful, begins dividing as a new organism at the earliest (embryonic) developmental stages. This new individual is genetically (virtually) identical to the person from whom the somatic cell was taken. It is a humanclone.(Stark, Paul). The process of cloningfor research is even seen as dangerous to people. When we start to clone for research, it builds a pathway for scientists and people to want to start cloning to produce children. (Stark, Paul). Most of the world feels that it extremely unethical and if we turn to cloning humans it could raise many health concerns. Yet having the majority think that cloning is very unethical, there is still a community that believes cloning can help out the world in a greater way. When you think of cloning what does your mind begin to think about? It thinks of the cloning of humans, and many people are unhappy with the fact that this may be coming soon. However, some people still like the benefits that could come with cloning. Human cloning should give us many unbelieveable medical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Allied Powers of the First World War I. Introduction During the First World War (1914 1918) The United Kingdom was one of the Allied Powers, fighting against the Central Powers (the German Empire, the Austro Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Bulgaria). In 1914, British Army did not have the power to fight a major war on the continent, and throughout the course of military actions had to multiply in size fourteen times (Chandler/ Beckett 211). Nature of the conflict that forced reorganization of the British Army, including raising one of the largest all volunteer militaries in history, creation of the Royal Air Force, and use of conscription, as well as facing modern and far more brutal weapons resulted in tremendous changes in the British warfare. British commanders, experienced in fighting small colonial wars, had to quickly adapt to a very different set of circumstances. The end of War marked a decline in the respect of authority. Economical effects of massive casualties, during carnages like the Battle of the Somme (1916), became felt and evidences of Generals incompetence were brought to light (for example in 1927 publication of Lions Led by Donkeys: Showing how victory in the Great War was achieved by those who made the fewest mistakes by British Captain P.A. Thompson). The criticism intensified after the end of the Second World War, when massive sacrifices of the previous war were put in perspective. • 15. Infrared Spectral Ranges For Imaging Application Abstract: Infrared imaging is widely used in biochemical sensing, medical diagnosis, and astronomy. In this summer High Scholar program, we will develop reflection microscopy working at wide infrared spectral ranges for imaging application. Reflection microscopy is based on gold coated parabolic mirrors which make the microscope accessible to visible, infrared, and even terahertz lightwithout chromatic aberration. Here, we will design and build a reflection microscope, and obtain visible and infrared images of simple biological samples such as onion cells to study a resolution and other potential functions of the home built microscope. Introduction: An optical microscope is an instrument that allows us to view micrometer scale objects in a larger image. [Carl Zeiss] The microscope uses a compound lens which allows to get maximum magnification. The compound lens is made up of multiple lenses that have a common axis, allowing for a high magnification to be possible. The microscope consists of objective lens and eyepiece. The objective lens is a vital part of a microscope since the lens provides a few different variations of power for magnification, and the eyepiece magnification power helps multiply the objective lens power, which will create a large amount of magnification. However, a microscope image is limited by a lens material. Glass (fused silica) is only transparent to visible light and it cannot be used for infrared light. Recently, infrared imaging has been used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Acts Of Terrorism And Political Terrorism Acts of terror and political violence are inevitably one in the same. Terrorism requires violence towards non combatants with a goal derived from a social or political view differing from the target of interest. It also pertains to violence or acts of terror committed to achieve a political goal. Political violenceis described as violence perpetrated by either persons or governments to achieve political goals. These definitions are one in the same. However, what they don t include is the use of symbolism behind their malevolent acts. Symbolism introduces itself when the use of propaganda campaigns and statements is utilized to critically convey the righteousness and benevolence of the terrorist. The symbolic value of targets also distinguishes terrorismfrom other simple acts of extreme violence. Another seldom thought component behind terrorism is that these acts seek to inflict psychological damage rather than demolish its material or ability to fight (Matusitz). Terrorism exploits symbolism by using it to push an extremist agenda, commit graves acts of terror and strategically target items or people of interest. Terrorism uses symbolism in many dissimilar ways. The most basic of ways are established terror groups adopting symbols and flags and associating them with the noble causes for the public. Most extremist groups incorporate nationalist workings like national colors, emblems or historic insurrectionary symbols to sympathize with the masses and further create a ... After all animals do display signs of consciousness, so they do have feelings about being locked up in displays and cages around the clock. Recently, a group of animal researchers signed a declaration proclaiming that animals are self aware. Alex Halberstadt s article called ZooAnimals and Their Discontent stated, The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness in Humanand Nonhuman Animals was signed by a group of leading animal researchers in the presences of Stephen Hawking. It asserted that mammals, birds, and other creatures like octopuses possess consciousness, and in all likelihood, emotions and self awareness. Several animals remember and feel emotion, so leaving them in a box all day seems slightly torturous. Humans should have empathy for the contained animals. It turns out common shore crabs feel and remember pain, zebra flinches experience REM sleep, fruit fly brothers cooperate, dolphins and elephants recognize themselves in mirrors, chimpanzees assist one another without expecting favors in return, and dogs really do feel elation in their owner s presence (Halberstadt). These feelings sometimes have some dangerous effects, as animals can and do act out against their aggressors. When wild animals kept in captivity act out against captivity, they develop unusual symptoms known to experts as zoochosis in some cases. The article Zoos on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Certain people and certain events during this time frame affected the nation of the United States enormously. This time period changed the United States for better and for worse. Certain people like Thomas Paine and Samuel Adams, tenaciously tried to change the course of history; haven wars, such as the French and Indian war altered the perception of the American people. These events and people were some of the many facilitated with the defiance against the British. This essay will show how these altercations turned the People of the newly formed Americas against the British. During the time of 1763 1775 one of the occurrences that happened to affect the colonist s perception of the British was the French and Indian War. The amazing thing is that the war itself was not the main factor of the colonist s trouble with the British, but the time after the war that was the cause of trouble. During the war the British fought with France around the Ohio valley for the control of land. The Ohio valley was very important to both of the empires, because of the value of the land and the strategic point it held in the years to come. • 21. Analysis Of Deborah Brandt s Sponsors Of Literacy Essay Introduction: In Deborah Brandt s essay Sponsors of Literacy, Brandt describes the process of how people become literate, the effect of their experiences, and influential people on their learning. The term that Brandt uses frequently to describe those who have a profound influence on a child s learning is literacy sponsor. She defines literacy sponsors as, Agents, local or distant, concrete, or abstract, who enable, support, teach, model, as well as recruit, regulate, suppress, or withhold literacy and gain advantage by it in some way, (Wardle 46). Essentially, Brandt is saying that every literate person has had the support of a person or idea that inspires their desire to read and write. According in the story of In Praise of the F Word, by Mary Sherry, she believe that it s healthy fear of failure, which mean students can fail. Also, she believes that if a student is misbehaving in class, to threatened them by saying I will flunk you in the class. By threatening the students, she strongly believes that they will straight up and they will do their work. In other words, students care about more in the grades then the actually learning in class. When students flunk in school, it looks imperfect on the school and many more of other reasons. Now the students have to retake the classes, because they were either not doing the work or just didn t care about school. It starts to show how some students prefer to drop out of school for drugs and etc. If they feel like they re not smart for whatever reason, their excuses will be oh not doing the work, because I don t understand. When they can ask for help or get a tutor that will be willing work out the problems for them. Therefore, students that choose to flunk in school is a bad thing. The reason why, because they find so many excuses to fail when they can t try it out first before saying it s too hard. I can remember waking up at Five o clock in the morning to catch an early flight from Heathrow airport. I was so excited I forgot about the daunting effort of getting up so early. My Mum, Dad, Brother, grandparents and I set off on the long journey to the airport, then Orlando Florida. There was a huge sign stating United States Of America Customs with a huge man sitting behind a bit of glass and not really looking at your passport just kind of waiting for his shift to finish. It was now time for the most boring part of going on holiday, the luggage belt. We stood there for fifteen minutes and eventually I was relieved to see a bag emerge through the rubber flap, but then having to wait another ten minutes to see the next one. I can remember how intrigued I was about what was on the other side of the curtain. I poked my head through only to be disappointed by a big man on a walky talky. We then hired a huge white six seated car that could actually fit eight people with comfort. The first memory outside of the airport was driving up a ramp and then having to stop at traffic lights and then watching these huge cars pass in front of us. We followed instructions to our bungalow apartment but having to stop and ask for directions. These themes resonate well with the mainstream audience. While the message is solid, the overall script would benefit from more development. The areas to re examine include the structure, tension, and character development. The opening does a good job of establishing Dan s ordinary world. He s established as being a loser and he s pretty unhappy with his life. There are solid inciting events that are the catalyst for change for Dan. The first is when he finds his wife cheating on him. The only concern about this scene is that it feels like a familiar scene that has been done before when the husband or the wife comes home early to find their cheating spouse. The other inciting event is when Dan wins the lottery, but the idea of the lottery isn t well setup or foreshadowed. Thus, it s a bit jarring to suddenly learn he has a lottery ticket and that s it s the winning lottery ticket. However, even after he wins the lottery, the script doesn t define any real goal for Dan. There s no actionable or external goal for Dan to achieve. • 29. The Puzzle Of The 15 Puzzle We have all seen the modern form of the 15 puzzle as children. (Temporary) The puzzle was initially constructed with 15 removable blocks and the challenge was to start with the blocks in the arrangement where 14 and 15 are switched (as shown in the figure below). In the 1870 s the impish puzzle maker Sam Loyd offered a thousand dollars to anyone who could solve the puzzle. He writes of how he drove the entire world crazy. People became infatuated with the puzzle and ludicrous tales are told of shopkeepers who neglected to open their stores and of a distinguished clergyman who stood under a street lamp all through a wintry night trying to recall the way he had performed the feat (S. Loyd, Mathematical Puzzles of Sam Loyd). The reason for this madness was that the puzzle had no solution at all. (2) It is impossible to pass between (1) and (2) by sliding the pieces. The proof of this is very interesting and it follows from group theory. Each move of the puzzle must involve switching the empty space and some other adjacent piece. For the sake of convenience, let s number the empty space 16. Now every move can be written as a transposition(a 2 cycle). For example the sequence of moves can be written as a product of transpositions (12 16)(15 16)(11 16)(12 16) where we are following the usual convention of composing functions from right to left. Fice Of The Governor Of India Introduction The office of the Governor, as envisaged by the framers of the Constitution has a lot of important functions to perform and is of paramount importance. In a Federal setup like India, Centre State relations carry a lot of importance and weightage in governance. A carry forward of the British era, the institution of the Governor is not merely a figurehead, but performs the important function of being an intermediary between the Centre and the State. Unfortunately, the post has lost much respect and consideration nowadays. Sarojini Naidu, the first woman Governor of India once famously remarked that she felt like a bird in a golden cage . It has become a resting place for old politicians. The Governors are appointed by the President under Article 156, based on recommendations of the Council of Ministers at the Centre, effectively giving a lot of power to the Centre in matters of gubernatorial appointments, which allows the Centre to operate a free will in a capricious manner in appointment and removal of Governors. The recommendations of Commissions constituted for the purpose of suggesting alternatives to the already existing situation were seldom incorporated. The above problems pose a critical situation not only for the Federal system of India, but also attack at the very root of fair and democratic procedure. • 33. Great Britain And The European Union The recent decision of Great Britain to leave the European Union coincides with the recent election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States. Both events can be explained by using economic and cultural arguments. In order to fully understand these occurrences, one must understand the economic anxiety as well as the anti globalisation sentiment that surrounded the Brexit movement. Trump s candidacy involves some of the same aspects, yet Trump s voter demographic, the white, working class, must also be studied. In the end, it can be determined that there is arguably more of a cultural reasoning to these incidences. The instances of Great Britain s exit from the EU and the election of Donald Trump were both so originally downplayed that when both possibilities came to light, the world was in shock and awe. June 23, 2016 was the first shock as Great Britain held a referendum in order to decide the question of whether or not the country should remain within the European Union. Brexit was the winning vote. Political elites had been defeated and the complaints of the voters were heard. These complaints stemmed from economic anxiety within the country and the demise of the support of globalisation. The Economist article, Drawbridges Up , describes the way in which voters wished to take control of borders once again in order to slow the flow of immigrants and refugees. • 36. Persuasive Essay On How To Apply Makeup How to Apply Makeup: Step by Step We all hit the age of first wanting to wear makeup, but we all run into the same problem. How do we apply it? There are so many steps and products to use but not everyone knows what to use or how to apply it. You can find many videos online of girls doing their makeup, but today I will explain a step by step process of how to apply it and what tools you should use. The very first step you should do is wash your face. This step should be done every time before doing makeup. Before you ever do your makeup you should have a clean canvas before you start applying products to your face. If you have dry, flaky patches on your skin, you could exfoliate. Most exfoliating scrubs have small rough microbeads in them. As you rub the scrub onto your face in circular motions, it will remove the dry patches. By doing this, it will help to make your foundation go on smoother. After you wash your face, you will want to apply a moisturizer, another extremely important step. The moisturizer will nourish all of the dry patches that the exfoliator could not remove. Moisturizers are made for every skin type. For example, there are moisturizers for oily skin, dry skin, combo skin, and nighttime and daytime. You should pick a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type. You only need to apply a dime size amount to your entire face. If you apply too much, the excess moisturizer will sit on top of your skin and not sink in. You will want to let the moisturizer ... • 44. The Mexican American Invasion Americans know it as the Mexican War, but the people of Mexico know it by a different name. The U.S. Invasion. The borders of America after the Louisiana Purchase was finalized, went from what is now Oregon s eastern border all the way to the very northern tip of Texas and into Louisiana. But President Polk still wanted more land, so in 1836 when Texaswon its independence from Mexicothey scrambled to get the new republic annexed into the U.S. This caused problems with Mexico because when Texas signed the treaty with the U.S they, the Americans, were convinced the border was the Rio Grande. The Mexicans, on the other hand, thought it was the Nueces River. But the war became unavoidable once armed American soldiers crossed into Mexico. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This land that the Americans were fighting for was originally Mexico s land. However, when Texas had declared its independence in 1836 America saw a chance to gain more land and hurriedly tried to convince them to join the United States. It was only then when Texas joined the U.S did they have border problems. This is because President Polk was power hungry and what shows power more than how much land a country has? And even though the land did not belong to them, nor did it Texas they still tried to claim it as theirs. Polk says I had ordered an efficient military force to take a position between the Nueces and the [Rio Grande] This had become necessary to meet a threatened invasion of Texas [because of] the Mexican force... threatened [Americans] solely because Texas has determined... to annex herself to our Union...it was plainly our duty to extend our protection over her citizens and soil. (Doc B) What Polk failed to take into consideration is that by mobilizing his armies and sending them into the disputed land Mexico had also claimed as theirs that it could be viewed as an invasion of their lands or an act of war. Mexico thought they were invading and merely reacted to the fact that they had soldiers from a country they were having conversations with. This whole battle that is responsible for starting the war could have been avoided if the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Economic Inequality Within The Global Economy Economic inequality can be defined by the unequal access to economic resources, in the form of opportunities, wealth, capital, land, etc., which determine the individual s or the group s level of power. Generally speaking, individuals and groups with high access to resources have high levels of vertical and horizontal power, which in it turn generate more access to resources and power. The unequal access to economic resources is institutionalized within a society. Thus, economic inequality has far reaching effects and manifestations in other social and political institutions. In addition, with increasing role of global economyon national economies, and the increasing inequality in the global market, which is reflecting on increasing inequality in it turn increases inequality within nations. Thus, the interest among political economists has increased in an effort to understand stratification and to create policies which aim to elevate economic inequality globally and nationally. I will argue that the capitalist economic system is inherently unequal. Farther more, it thrives on creating highly level of economic inequality, where resources and capital is concentrated in the hands of the economic elite, while the rest of the population service to provide cheap labor (specialized on non specialized) which increase economic, social, and political inequality in a society. For that reason, I don t believe that economic policies can end inequality globally or national (short from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This case study touches on many topics within licensing but the three most dominant aspects within the Warnaco Group vs. Calvin Klein suit are the agreements and understandings discussed with a contract, the rights to a trademark and the rights of both the licensor and the licensee. While briefing this case study one can not help but notice, stated on page 21, the agreements that are displayed in exhibit 1: Excerpts from Calvin Klein Jeanswear Licensing Agreement. Here it is clear that the agreement, signed by BOTH parties, states that Warnaco agrees to maximize the quantity of Articles sold, and will be consistent with CKI s past practices. One can assume, that due to the prolonged history between the two parties this includes Costco, Sam s Club and BJs store, which alone were held responsible for 150 million dollars in warehouse sales, just one year prior to the filing of the lawsuit. It is also important to point out that this licensing agreement is not with CKI as the owner, it is in fact a licensing agreement with the CK Trademark Trust being the beneficial owner to ALL rights, titles and interest in or to the Licensed Mark. The licensing agreement then continues to state that Warnaco controls any such act or thing which may cause any affect to the Trust. With the understanding of licensing, ... These attacks usually start by interrupting the network through some host and encouraging further more attacks on the network. The hackers usually use sophisticated techniques in interrupting the network, they use some softwares which will hardly use some traditional techniques to hack the network. Therefore we need some detection systems to detect the unusual data approaching the network.
