The document compares and contrasts the Arabian folktales Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and Aladdin. Ali baba and the Forty Thieves and Aladdin have many similarities and
differences.Ali Baba is an Arabian folktale,text book story.There was a
problem,forty thieves, a secret password and a secret cave.It also is a hero
story.Aladdin was a movie,it was colorful, and it had songs.It also had a
genie,it was an Arabian folktale,there was a princess, and a magic
carpet.Talking animals and it was a love story.I compared because i wanted to
know the differences between two Arabian folktales.
In both Ali Baba and Aladdin a character saves someone.In Ali Baba
Morigiana saved Ali Baba from the forty thieves.In Aladdin the monkey helps
Aladdin,captures the guy who wanted all the power and who wanted Jazmin
who Aladdin also wanted.In the end of both stories Ali Baba was OK. In
Aladdin the genie was free.The bad guy was captured,and Aladdin and Jazmin
were together.
Both the Arabian folktales Ali Baba and Aladdin have a problem.In Ali Baba
the 40 thieves wanted the treasure hidden in the magic cave.In
Aladdin,Aladdin wanted Jazmin.Javar wanted to be in charge of the kingdom
and they had to get him out of being in charge.
In both Ali Baba and Aladdin they have a solution.In Aladdin they got Javar
out of being in charge.Aladdin got Jazmin and the Jeanie was free from the
lamp.In Ali Baba,Ali Baba is not injured or killed by the forty thieves.The
forty theives never got the treasure.
In Ali Baba and Aladdin a character in that story helps the main
character.In Aladdin the monkey helps Aladdin from being killed or hurt by
Javar because they both wanted Jazmin and to be in charge of the kingdom.In
Ali Baba Morigiana helps Ali Baba not get hurt by the forty thieves.
In Aladdin the story Aladdin is a love story because Aladdin wants to and
does marry Jazmin the princess.In Ali Baba it's a hero story because
Morigiana saves Ali Baba from the forty thieves.Morigiana becomes a
hero for saving her.
In Ali Baba the donkeys were never with Ali Baba they were never

2. with Ali Baba they were only used for transportation and they were in 1
scene of the story.Unlike Aladdin where he had a monkey friend and the
monkey always stayed with and by Aladdins side no matter what.the
monkey saved Aladdins life in the story.In Ali Baba the donkeys didnt
save Ali Baba.
In Ali Baba it had a hero because Morigiana saved Ali Babas life from
the forty thieves and became a hero at the end of the story.In Aladdin
there was a princess Jazmin.The princess fell in love with Aladdin and
they got married.Thats why Ali Baba is a hero story.That also is why
Aladdin is a love story.
In Aladdin they had talking animals and that made the movie so
cool,fun and interesting I thought.In Ali Baba the donkeys dont talk at
all they just waqlk around and let people ride on them and they are used
for transportataion.They dont do anything for the story and they are not
even involved in the story.
Overall I think Ali Baba and Aladdin are very diferent and similar in
many different ways.For example Aladdin and Ali Baba both had nimals
involved.In Aladdin the animals taled and in Ali Baba the animals didnt
talk.The monkey in Aladdin was always with Aladdin and was always by
Aladdins side and in Ali Baba the donkeys were never with Ali Baba.I
loved both of the Arabien folktales and I really want to read or watch
more Arabien folktales.Overall I liked Ali Baba because it was a book and
i liked the details and i like reading books more than sitting in front of a
T.V and watching a movie.
