It has expanded over time to include 3 graving docks and facilities for ship repair, construction, and maintenance. The shipyard aims to serve the large number of vessels in Indonesia and meet the demand for docking facilities. It strives for quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. PT. 3. HISTORY
PT. Karya Delka Maritim shipyard has been in operation since
2003 at the strategical position of North Sumatra, Belawan -
Medan which was the entry tip point to Indonesia from middle
east and south east asia sea route. Located at just 15 minutes
boat ride from Medan, the shipyard is tremendeously strategic
and giving so much advantage to the customers. With a land
coverage of 100 hectares, the lean area for ships are more than
enough.
Being in the shipping business for more than 3 decades, the
founder of PT. Karya Delka Maritim was an industry veteran of
anything related to ship peripherals that possesed vast boatyard
experience. At PT. Karya Delka Maritim, we build the tradition of
quality workmanship, customer service and affordable rates to
west Indonesian sea transportation ships.
From just 1 graving dock at the first of its' establishment, now PT.
Karya Delka Maritim is comprised of 3 graving docs, all supported
with repair and fabrication facilities – all committed to the
company values of Integrity, Customer Service and Pride.
Currently, we make up North Sumatra’s most extensive array of
docks, slipways, steel fabrication shops, outfit and machine shops
and blast and also paint facilities.

5. ABOUT PT. KDM
The main idea behind the establishment of PT Karya Delka Maritim is
that Indonesia is an archipelago country with thousands islands that
needs a good sea transportation system to connect them, which is
cheaper than air transportation. As per 2003, Indonesian flag vessels
are more than 7,000 units, which are not included navy and foreign flag
vessels operated by Indonesian companies. This number will increase
continuously as directly proportional to the potential of shipyard
serving as repair docks.
The improper balance between number of vessels operated in
Indonesia versus the number of dockyard facilities available are indeed
our opportunity to excel in the shipyard business. Since there is only
about 15 dockyards available across the country by far, and yet vessels
can not wait to be docked at certain period annually, therefore ship
owners have to queue for a long time to get dock space for their
vessels.
As for the above conditions, PT. Karya Delka Maritim embraces this
opportunity to be different than the rest, building a different culture
that displays the practice of effectivity, agility and creativity to serve with
such a competitive advantage.

10. REPAIR DOCK SERVICES
PT. Karya Delka Maritim provide full repair service facility providing repairs and even ship building service
to all types of vessels. We can accommodate vessels from 300 to 20.000 DWT in length and up to 170 m.
We are the integrated shipyard in Belawan, Medan that is committed to providing the top level of
services and expertise for all its clients' boating needs. We also provide, Towing and Salvage – We can
dispatch our tug and personnel at a moment’s notice to any location near Belawan, Medan. We also do
boat disposal. Free in-yard estimates – or at your boat for a nominal travel fee. We have extensive
experience with minor and major repairs resulting from collisions, groundings and damages resulting
from insurable events.

Our graving dock allow our customers to drift ships in and impel water away to do thorough
