V.K. Industrial Corporation Limited (VKICL) is India’s leading steel
importer and stockiest of special quality steel plates. Guided by
philosophy to supply best quality and variety of steel plates at
competitive prices, VKICL is the leading supplier of steel products in all
major markets including automotive, construction, infrastructure,
packaging and household appliances.
VKICL was founded in the year 1985 as a Partnership under the
guidance of Mr.Kakubhai Mehta and his son Mr.Viren Mehta . Since
its inception in 1985, the company has accomplished a lot in terms of its
structure, size, and presence. Through a successful expansion strategy,
VKICL has rapidly grown to become a closely held public limited
company which has operations in three major port states: Maharashtra,
Gujarat and Chennai.

For over last one decade the company has been holding 35,000 - 40,000
metric tons steel in various grades and thickness. This high inventory
allows VKICL to meet their numerous and diversified customers
requirement at very competitive prices. VKICL’s customers are spread
all over India and come from different industries. Some of the

6. SUPPLIER BASE
Succeeding is inextricably linked to relationship with customers,
suppliers and employees. VKICL’s has always worked with the prime
aim to meet the needs of their customers while enriching long-term
relationship with their suppliers.
Some of VKICL’s suppliers are even twenty years old. Having built long-
term relationships with suppliers, enables VKICL to take advantage of
low prices, credit facilities and priority preference. VKICL uses stringent
selection system and purchases materials from only the best and
renowned mills from all over the world. The map below reveals the

7. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
In the steel trading industry in India, VKICL has set a high customer
satisfaction benchmark by:
Holding inventory of nearly 40,000 metric tons of various
grades and thickness.
Offering materials at competitive prices.
Providing 24x7 high seed customer service.
At their warehouse, VKICL has four cranes and four labourers that are
available to work day and night. This allows VKICL to satisfy customers
and meet all orders before time. Moreover, ultrasonic testing and
cutting is also available at all times. Today VKICL is proud to have
completed 30 years without a lost time injury.
Further, the strict quality control regulations adopted by VKICL are the
key to this success. VKICL ensures that all imported materials are duly
inspected, stamped and certified by renowned third party inspection
agencies such as BVIS, TUV, LRIS and/or similar inspection agencies
prior to dispatch. Clients can avail the same if required or are even
permitted to carry out their own inspection.
Due to such strict quality control VKICL is proud to announce that its
sales returns to sales turnover percentage only equals to less than 0.5%
annually. Moreover, VKICL’s employee retention rate is more that 90%
and its customer retention rate is more that 86%.
