The first step to success is to learn the basics. In other words, you can say that the key to being successful is learned even at preschool. Your children need a good foundation to be prepared enough for the real world. - http://www.liceo.edu.ph

Documentary about domestic violence, actually even verbal abuse that oppresses the delay, the psychological, or any type of contempt is considered violence!!!!
“YOUR ABUSIVE PARTNER DOESN’T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HIS ANGER; HE HAS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR ANGER.
One of the basic human rights he takes away from you is the right to be angry with him. No matter how badly he treats you, he believes that your voice shouldn’t rise and your blood shouldn’t boil. The privilege of rage is reserved for him alone. When your anger does jump out of you—as will happen to any abused woman from time to time—he is likely to try to jam it back down your throat as quickly as he can. Then he uses your anger against you to prove what an irrational person you are. Abuse can make you feel straitjacketed. You may develop physical or emotional reactions to swallowing your anger, such as depression, nightmares, emotional numbing, or eating and sleeping problems, which your partner may use as an excuse to belittle you further or make you feel crazy.” Let's break this...........
Abuse:
The maltreatment of one person by another.
Battering:
A pattern of coercive control founded on and supported by physical and/or sexual violence or threat of violence of an intimate partner.
Neglect:
Physical neglect of a child includes refusal of or delay in seeking health care, abandonment, expulsion from
the home or refusal to allow a runaway to return home, and inadequate supervision.
Emotional neglect refers to a chronic failure by the parent or caretaker to provide the child with the hope, love, and support necessary for the development of a sound, healthy personality.
Incest:
The occurrence of sexual contacts or interaction between, or sexual exploitation of, close relatives, or between participants who are related to each other by a kinship bond that is regarded as a prohibition to sexual relations (e.g., caretakers, stepparents, stepsiblings) (Sadock & Sadock, 2007).
Rape:
The expression of power and dominance by means of sexual violence, most commonly by men over women, although men may also be rape victims.
1. الرعاية الجسدية:

This presentation, created by Syed Faiz ul Hassan, explores the profound influence of media on public perception and behavior. It delves into the evolution of media from oral traditions to modern digital and social media platforms. Key topics include the role of media in information propagation, socialization, crisis awareness, globalization, and education. The presentation also examines media influence through agenda setting, propaganda, and manipulative techniques used by advertisers and marketers. Furthermore, it highlights the impact of surveillance enabled by media technologies on personal behavior and preferences. Through this comprehensive overview, the presentation aims to shed light on how media shapes collective consciousness and public opinion.

Intimate Partner Violence
1. Intimate Partner Violence
●What is it? Simply put it is the physical, sexual
and emotional abuse acted out between
intimates.
●Consists of a systematic pattern of dominance
and control within an intimate relationship.
●It is the willful intimidation, physical assault,
battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive
behavior perpetrated by an intimate partner
against another.
2. Types of Abuse:
●Physical- which can include:
● hitting, punching, slapping, shoving, throwing objects,
etc.
●Emotional/Psychological- which can include:
● manipulating, name calling, harassment, taunting,
putting down, ridiculing, etc.
●Sexual- which can include:
● demeaning remarks about one's gender, forcing a
person to take off clothes, touching which makes one
uncomfortable, insisting on making one dress more
inappropriately, forcing an intimate partner to engage
in a sexual act without his or her consent.
3. Cycle of Violence
This diagram describes the
pattern of interpersonal
violence in intimate
relationships. Usually
beginning in the honeymoon-
like state which can last weeks
or years. Tension builds which
involves feeling as if walking
on eggshells and intense fear.
Eventually the abuser explodes
with some type of violence.
After violence, the cycle will
begin again with apologies and
charm in the honeymoon
stage.
5. Facts about IPV
● According to the CDC (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention):
– 1 in 3 woman (36%) & 1 in 4 men (29%) have been a
victim of some form of IPV in 2010.
– 1 in 4 woman (24%) & 1 in 7 men (14%) have
experienced sever IPV in 2010.
– Women are victims far more often of multiple forms
of violence
– IPV has resulted in 1.3 million injuries each year &
2,340 deaths in 2007; majority women.
– Nearly 325,000 women are victims of domestic
violence while pregnant
6. Important fact about IPV
Cannot be stressed enough....
IPV DOES NOT DISCRIMNIATE
Intimate partner violence occurs individually
in all communities regardless of age,
socioeconomic status, race, religion,
nationality, or educational background.
7. Myths
● IPV &/or Domestic Violence (DV) is just a momentary loss of
temper.
– TRUTH: True domestic violence is a conscious
choice to exert power and control over someone
using force. It is an ongoing technique.
● IPV &/or DV only happens in poor families.
– TRUTH: It occurs throughout all levels of society.
There is no evidence that suggests any community
is free of violence.
● IPV &/or DV is just an occasional slap or punch that isn't
serious.
– Victims are often seriously injured from acute
battering.
8. Myths continued..
● Heads of households have the right to control the people
they support.
– TRUTH: No person has the right to control another
person or exert physical, emotional, or sexual force
over another.
● If the violent episodes don't happen very often, the situation
is not that serious.
– TRUTH: Violence is always serious. Even if physical
violence does not happen often (if ever), the threat
of it remains a terrorizing means of control.
● Victims have the types of personalities that seek out and
encourage abuse.
– TRUTH: There is no empirically supported evidence
for this claim. Batterers are responsible for the
abuse, not the victim.
9. Myths continued..
● The victim can always leave.
– TRUTH: It takes on average a woman 6-8 times to
leave an abuser. Victims usually do not have a safe
place to go and because of extensive history of
relationship, victim has limited options (money,
friends, family, etc..)
– Sometimes it is safer for the victim to stay with the
batterer for the time being than to try and escape.
Creating a plan to leave can help victims stay safe
and successfully keep away from the batter.
– Over 75% of homicide cases involving IPV/DV occur
when the woman has attempted to leave or has left
her abuser (National Coalition Against Domestic
Violence, 2011).
10. Effects from IPV
● Physical effects-
– Chronic health
issues
– back pain
– seizures
– hypertension
● Psychological effects-
– Anxiety
– PTSD
– Depression
– emotional
detachment
– inability to trust
– low self-esteem
– suicide ideation
11. Red Flags for abuse
*having one or more does NOT automatically mean they are an abuser.
● Controlling who partner speaks and listens to
● In a hurry to be romantically involved
● Questioning partner's behavior or motives
● Imposition of his/her beliefs or opinions
● Belittling partner's beliefs or opinions
● Physically aggressive towards others
● Blaming others for problems
● “playful” use of force during sex
● Verbal mistreatment of others
12. Red Flags continued..
● Having a different persona
in private than in public (Dr.
Jekyll & Mr. Hyde)
● Cruelty towards animals or
children
● Reputation as a womanizer
or player
● Alcohol or drug abuse
● Often charming, charismatic
●
● Possessiveness
● Jealousy
● Forcing isolation
● Lying
● Manipulative
● Secretiveness
● Unpredictable, erratic
temper
