Communication And Diverse
Workplace
Denying and Marginalizing
 Accept the presence of others in organization but at
the same time keep at a lower power.
 They are involve in a powerless work
 Obtaining power means obtaining upward mobility.
 These countries needs a system that enable their
formal structure of the organization to give
opportunities for advancement. This will enhance
their benefits for retirement. People with power gets
the best retirement benefits in these countries.
Small Change into Major Unintended
Consequence
 This is a issue that exist because of the lock of
communication.
 if the people that are making these change over the
period tells everybody else what is going on it will
ease them into the change.
 Therefore there wouldn’t be a resistance in the first
place. Good or bad everybody deserve to know.
Societal Expectation & Organizational Process
 Stereotype to guide interactions
 Employee afraid to talk to the leader
 Expect newer member to occupy low power position.
Therefore they suppress their ability to provide inside
information.
 This differ amongst the three culture, as for Denmark
their implying the plan to them would be easier
because they are a country that has an open dialog in
operation. As for the other two they might be happy to
see a retirement plan in place but implementing it
would be a problem. Because of the disproportion in
the organizations.
Flexibility/ Valuing others
 Treat people fairly when achieving your goals.
 Organization should adopt to the needs of the talent some
times instead of demanding every employee adapt to the
organization.
 Loyalty vs. self concern
 People in these develop countries has a different set of
value then in other parts of the world. In the south
Africa people care about being loyal to the company
where as for Denmark to are more concern with
recognition of their work. Therefore even if it is done
in a team they do good because they want people to
recognize them as good workings.
Home & Work Balance
 With technology advancement many people doesn’t
ever leave work
 Downsizing , overtime demands has also contribute to
this
 Work home spill-over
 With the advancement of technology it is easier the
mix work with home activities. In these country each of
them really didn’t promote home and work
balance, some even promote over time.
