2. REALITY BITES IN THE LABOR MOVEMENT
A. Body Content
In these present times, employment is the major necessity of our countrymen particularly
those people that’d difficulty in seeking a job that mostly a fresh graduate or those people who’d
willing to work but hard to find or they wanted job that fits to their finish degree and most
especially to our Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). Occasionally, most company hired for an
employment by seeking some background of experience and that basis will give more difficult
for them to find a job.
In this content, the case upholds that the present condition of the labor forced is more aggravated
by the unconnected and inadequate response from the government. The author believes that in
this country, workers continue to work in difficult conditions without experiencing an
improvement in their standard of living, and they’re just forced to accept it as a linkage of their
life. Consequently, many Filipinos are drawn to go overseas, seeking enough money to improve
their economic status. They earned money, but the income they work for burden isn’t sustainable
because the supplemental income they gained is just spent almost on their consumption.
B. Data Gathering
In the issue regarding labor force is a serious subject matter and it needed to be done
through lessening contractualization, implementation of several work and increasing a higher
pay. Since, these are the insufficient and lacking of the government and perhaps the reason why
Filipino workers would prefer to go abroad and start a good career with a higher pay.
3. The issue of Contractualization was put under the spotlight when it was discussed
during the final presidential debate that was held on April 24, 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte
address and expressed his opposition against endo. Under this scheme, when the contract ends
and isn’t renewed, a worker no longer has a job that means there is no source of income and no
food to feed the family until another job is found. In this regard, it’s difficult not to connect drugs
and crime with poverty and unemployment. The reason why people sell drugs and do crime is
because they have no other option. This is why former President of the Philippines Rodrigo
Duterte against and assisted the support of contractualization.
Job opportunities or the job availability is the basic needs of an employee and the
absolute needs of applicants who are having trouble of finding it fits career. This is one reason of
struggled job creation to keep pace with an ever-expanding population. Another factor may be
the low quality of jobs available. Despite the rapid economic growth of the country,
unemployment remains a persistent problem to those people who’d spend the opportunity abroad
the country.
Salary increase is one the reason of an employee who’d just force to accept the given salary
just too gained money for their family and its needs, and being lack of any option just to have
work and stable job. In this regard, salary is one of the motivations of an employee to do their
task. It’s difficult to realize that the hardship you give to your work is not worth or equivalent to
the salary you received. Just like those workers who are force to take a deleterious job which is
more than important to recognize by the government about their effort just to have a stable job.
4. C. Analysis
The reality beyond labor forced is full of uncertainty. Yet, the job they keep will provide
their needs and to fill their stomach, but have they noticed the irrelevant and inconsistent if one
person is lock to a job were they don’t have interest to take that job or they’re just forced to keep
it as an alternative to their fits career. Furthermore, this issue remains persistent and the problem
provoked pointless and inharmonious.
However, if the presence of several jobs and the increase of salary with the absence of end of
contract, no Filipino workers are longer be an alien to their inconsistent and irrelevant appointed
job, who chooses to leave the country, faces their fate to a different bloodline and culture and
putting themselves to a lawful decision just to have self-worthy.
D. Conclusion And Recommendation
As a citizen of this country, it’s difficult to deal with the government system of employment
that you need to adapt the practice and scheme of every company here in the Philippines. For this
reason, Philippines isn’t modernize to the international standard when it comes to job
opportunities and salary standardization that’s why many Filipinos and future Filipino workers
are aggravated and discouraged in this scheme of the government and the reason of an existing
labor movement.
1. To be able to have a standard living among workers who are the concern of this
existing problem, government scheme of Contractualization should conclude to
the welfare of our workers it’s because they are individuals whose in needs and
without them no work will function.
5. 2. If we have enough availabilities of job with a good quality of career and the
satisfaction of salary, no employee is being urged to go abroad and perhaps the
reason why people sell drugs and do crime.
3. Labor issues are the reason why people make a protest and it’s absolutely
indefinite to the face of our country. Nonetheless, if we treat our people in a good
condition and hear the voice of the majority we will be having a peace,
satisfaction and patriotic people because they believe or we believe in devotion to
one’s country if people and the government have a sympathy relationship with
each other.
