4. Five Actionable Goals:
1 - Learn how to use PhotoShop.
2 - Learn how to read and create code.
3 - Obtain an Editorial Internship.
4 - Find a business mentor.
5 - Secure a job in my chosen field.

5. Goal One: Photoshop
Photoshop is a requirement on the
majority of jobs I’ve researched, and is a
huge tool for working within the digital
publishing industry.
By learning Photoshop and putting it on
my resume I could increase my chances of
being hired for an internship or full time
position exponentially.

6. Goal Two: Coding
If I want to work in the digital publishing
industry it’s necessary to have at least a
basic knowledge of code and how to
read/create coded content.
Having this skill would help me both secure
a job in the digital realm and could boost
my overall ability to create content for
the internet.

7. Goal Three: Internship
I’ve had other internships, but obtaining
one in the exact field I want to pursue
would be an infinitely helpful experience.
Through an editorial internship I would get
practical training as well as test out the
skills I’ve gained during my time as an
English Major and Communication Studies
Minor.

8. Goal Four: Mentor
Having a business mentor is quickly gaining
popularity because it’s a great way to
keep learning post-graduation.
Being able to talk to someone in your
desired field about how they became
successful is really helpful and can provide
insights to the business world that you
might not have known otherwise.

9. Goal Five: A Real Job
After taking the previous four steps to
better myself I hope that I will be able to
secure a position that fulfills my passions
and inspires me to work my hardest each
day.
Ideally my creative abilities and
professional aspirations will culminate into
a position that puts my education and
work background to use.
