3. Boyhood Opening Sequence Short Analysis
The opening of Boyhood starts off with a black screen and the introduction of
music.
We then see the production titles and the film title.
Mason, the protagonist, is firstly introduced through a close up shot of his
face.
We are introduced to one of the main settings within the films which is the
school alongside another main character which is is his mum.
We are introduced more to the two characters and their relationship through a
sequence of their conversation though a car journey.
5. Juno Opening Sequence Short Analysis
Just like the beginning of the opening sequence of Boyhood, Juno begins with
music.
We are introduced to the film’s protagonist through a close up of her face
whilst she drinks juice.
She starts to walk and the opening sequence turns into a cartoon/ animated
style.
Through this we are introduced to the main locations involved in the rest of
the film.
Unlike in Boyhood,Juno’s title sequence contains no dialogue and we do not
learn much about the characters in the films.
