2. A young teenage girl is first
introduced in the opening titles.
She is drinking from a large bottle
of Sunny D and then wipes her
mouth on her sleeve. This
introduces us to her laid back and
immature character.
Then the music begins and she
walks slowly swinging her arms
and swaying as she walks. This
backs up that she is laid back and
somewhat unemotional to her
surroundings.
3. The first scene is real life but after Juno wipes her
hand on her mouth and starts walking, the scene
becomes animated and uses basic pastel colours.
The animation connotes a childish theme to the film
and shows us that it is a light hearted and funny
film.
The Animation is quite jumpy and looks hand drawn
which gives an unprepared air to the film which
could be a forewarning of the events to come.
4. The music used in this clip
of the film is a very happy
upbeat (but not too
jumpy!) piece of music and
the lyrics in it connote the
storyline as it is a love song
but the relaxed and jokey
feel of the music sets the
whole tone for the film.
5. Due to the heavily animated and
hand drawn opening, the comedic
feel to the music and the way that
the character of Juno is portrayed
gives us the impression that this
film is going to be a laid back
comedy.
Also, due to the use of pastel
colours in the animation, this could
connote a young baby as the soft
colours are related to children.
