COMEDK is the “Consortiumof Medical, EngineeringandDental Collegesof Karnataka”todetermine
the meritof studentsinaneffective, fair, transparentandnon-exploitative testing procedure and
has beenfloatedbythe Associationsof Medical, Dental andEngineeringprivate colleges for merit
determinationof studentsseekingadmissionstothe MemberInstitution.Presently 14 Medical, 23
Dental andmore than 150 Engineeringcolleges, whomake available almost20,000 seats,are
affiliatedtoCOMEDKand utilize itstestingmechanismforeffectingadmissiontoUG Program during
the academicyear2016-2017. KPCFand KUPECA have entrustedCOMEDKwiththe responsibilityof
conductingthe entrance examinationandseatselectionprocess.
For the academicyear 2016 - 17, COMEDK will conduct UnderGraduate Entrance Test 2016 (UGET
– 2016) for admissionto undergraduate medical,dental and engineeringcoursesonSundaythe
08/05/2016.
For the firsttime COMEDK UGET 2016 entrance exam will be an online computerbasedtest and
will be heldat centersacross the country to facilitate the studentsto take theirexam closerto
theirhomesand to minimize the cost of travel and other logistics.
The saidtestwill be heldkeepinginview the triple testcriteriaof beingfair, transparentandnon-
exploitativeandtoensure meritbasedadmissionsthroughasingle common entrance testfollowed
by centralizedcounselingasenvisagedbythe Hon’ble Supreme CourtinTMA Pai FoundationVs.

ELIGIBILITYCRITERIA
Candidatesfromall overthe countrycanappearfor the UGET 2016 entrance examination.The
eligibilitycriterionforvariousprogramshasbeenaspublishedbyCOMEDKinitsNotificationdated

A) For UG Medical and Dental Courses
a) The candidatesshouldhave qualifiedinsecondPUCor10+2 or equivalentexaminationrecognized
by State / Central Government, the lasttwoyearsof studyshall comprise of Physics, Chemistryand
Biology(PCB) withEnglishasa compulsorysubject.

b) The General Meritcandidatesmusthave passedthese subjects(PCB) individuallyandmusthave
obtainedaminimumof 50% marks takentogetherinPCB(40% inthe case of SC, ST andOBC
candidatesof KarnatakaState).
c) The candidateswhoare appearingforthe prescribedqualifyingexaminationandexpectingthe
percentage of marksas at (b) are alsoeligibletoapply.
d) The General Meritcandidatesmustalsosecure notlessthan50% marks(40% inthe case of SC, ST
and OBCcandidatesof Karnataka) inaggregate inPCBsubjectsinthe COMEDK UG entrance test
2016.
e) Englishisone of the subjects, asinthe previousyears, tobe testedalongwithPhysics,Chemistry
and BiologyduringCOMEDKUGET – 2016. The General Meritcandidatesshouldsecurenotlessthan
50% marksinEnglish(40% in the case of SC, ST andOBC candidatesof Karnataka) inthe entrance
test.However, the markssosecuredinEnglishwill notbe addedforthe determinationof rankwhich
shall be decidedexclusivelybasedonthe markssecuredbythe candidatesinPCBsubjects.Further,a
candidate isnotentitled forarank if he/she failstosecure 50% or 40% of the marksas the case may
be in English. The paperonEnglishlanguage will be normallyof secondPUCor10+2 standardand
will testthe candidate’scomprehensionof the language,the structure of words, phrases, clauses
and sentences.
f) The candidate shall complete the age of 17 yearson or before 31stDecember(31-12- 2016) of the
yearof admissiontothe MBBS/ BDS course.
Note: The candidatesshall submitthe original markscard of the qualifyingexamination during
counselingforprovingtheireligibilityvis-a-vismarksscored as evidenced by the original marks
card.
THE FOLLOWING CANDIDATESARE UNACCEPTABLEAND HENCE NEED NOT APPLY:

B) For UG Engineering Courses
a) The qualifyingexaminationsprescribedforadmissionforB.E.issecondPUCor 10+2 Higher
Secondaryorequivalentexaminationrecognizedby State /Central Government;the lasttwoyears
of studyshall comprise of Physics,ChemistryandMathematicswithEnglishasa compulsorysubject.

b) The General Meritcandidatesshouldhave passedwithaminimumaggregate of 45% marks (40%
inrespectof SC, ST and OBCcandidatesof KarnatakaState) inPhysics,Chemistry andMathematics
and shouldhave passed thesesubjectsindividually.PhysicsandMathematicsare compulsory
subjectsalongwithChemistryorBioTechnologyorBiologyorComputerScience orElectronicsas
one of the optional subjects.However, changes,if any,inthe eligibilitycriteriabythe AICTEwill be
adopted.
c) Anattemptinthe COMEDK Entrance Testseekingadmission toEngineeringcoursesisconsidered
adequate forfiguringinthe rank.
d) Diplomacandidatesare noteligible totake the Entrance Testas there are no lateral entry
admissions.

C) For UG Architecture Courses
a) The prescribedqualifyingexaminationforadmissiontoB.Arch course issecondPUC or 10+2

othersubjectsora 10+3 Diplomarecognizedby Central /State Governmentandhavingobtainedat
least50% marks inaggregate (45% inthe case of SC, ST andOBC candidatesof Karnataka).
b) The candidatesshouldhave appearedforNationalAptitude TestinArchitecture (NATA)
conductedbythe Council of Architecture withaminimumscore of 80 out of 200 marksfor both
General MeritandCategorystudents.
c) There shall be no Entrance Testfor candidatesseekingadmission toB.ArchCourse.

b) The candidates who have claimedcategory such as (SC/ST/OBC) of Karnataka shouldproduce a
valid certificate at the time of Counseling.Ifthe certificatesare not producedor not valid and if
the candidatesfall under 40% criteria for lowereligibilityhis/ herrank will become invalidand he

c) The candidateswho have claimedMinority/ Hyderabad Karnataka status shouldproduce a
