Rationale
Self-reflection is a purposeful activity in which you exercise multiple skills, such as critical thinking, personal responsibility, adaptability, and more. When you debrief an experience, you reflect on everything including the process, the choices and discoveries you make, and the problems you encounter. The purpose of the self-reflection questions below is to inspire you to think about your learning journey. For example, how has this knowledge made you better? How can you apply your new knowledge to other areas of your studies? What is its significance in the real world?
Tasks/ Instructions
· Students should fill in all five reflective journal entries as provided by the instructor.
· In order to answer each entry, students should write clear, concise, and error-free sentences and paragraphs, minimum 100 words per reflection entry.

I. INTRODUCTION
In this project, you and your group will need to apply a theory of motivation from the course
textbook to a famous person of your choosing. This famous person must be someone who has a
motivation issue. You will need to 1. Explain this theory briefly, 2. Identify how this theory would
see the motivation challenge of the person you are studying and 3. Identify how this theory would
try to help this person with their motivation.
II. LEARNING OUTCOMES
The project addresses the following outcomes as defined in the Course Syllabus:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of motivational psychology through knowledge of motivational
behavioral principles.

Motivation is a critical part of a healthy and productive life. Overcoming challenges to motivation
plays an important role in overcoming difficult times and achieving one’s goals. By understanding
how to apply a theory of motivation to another person, you will have a better idea of how to apply
this theory to yourself.
V. DELIVERABLES AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
DELIVERABLE 1 (10%): CASE STUDY “MOTIVATIONAL ANALYSIS”
For this deliverable, you will need to prepare an analysis of motivation on the famous person in which you
apply a knowledge of motivation. Your submission must have one reference for each member in the group.
Your case study must follow provided rubrics and count 1000 -1500 words. You must include in-text citations
and a references in APA style. Your submission needs to have depth and to show that you have thought
through it well and researched it well. Where students only provide content that is common sense, quite
obvious, vague, simple, and lacking in depth (ie: Our famous person should motivate himself by being positive
and giving himself rewards), students will lose points. Students are welcome to encourage positive thinking in

The exploitation of colonial resources and indigenous labor was one of the key elements in the success of imperialism. Such exploitation was a result of the prevalent ethnocentrism of the time and was justified by the unscientific concept of social Darwinism, which praised the characteristics of white Europeans and inaccurately ascribed negative characteristics to indigenous peoples. THIS CAUSE is before the Court upon Plaintiff/Counter-Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss Defendant/Counter-Plaintiff’s Counterclaim (DE 6). Counter-Plaintiff OpenPeak Inc. filed its 1 Memorandum in Opposition (DE 8). Counter-Defendant Option Wireless, Ltd, replied. (DE 12). The Court has carefully considered the briefs ofthe parties and is otherwise fully advised in the premises. I. Introduction2 In July 2010, Counter-Plaintiff OpenPeak Inc. was producing a computer tablet product for AT&T. (DE 4 ¶ 5). Seeking embedded wireless data modules for the tablet, Counter-Plaintiff submitted a purchase order to Counter-Defendant Option Wireless, Ltd, for 12,300 units of the modules at the price of $848,700.00. (DE 4 ¶ 4). Section 9 of the purchase order, labeled “BUYER’S TERMS AND CONDITIONS,” provided that [a]ll purchase orders and sales are made only upon these terms and conditions and those on the front of this document. BY THE 1970s, psychologists had done a series of studies establishing the social power of groups. They showed, for example, that groups of strangers could persuade people to believe statements that were obviously false. Psychologists had also found that research participants were often willing to obey authority figures even when doing so violated their personal beliefs. The Yale studies by Stanley Milgram in 1963 demonstrated that a majority of ordinary citizens would continually shock an innocent man, even up to near-lethal levels, if commanded to do so by someone acting as an authority. The "authority" figure in this case was merely a high-school biology teacher who wore a lab coat and acted in an official manner. The majority of people shocked their victims over and over again despite increasingly desperate pleas to stop.
In my own work, I wanted to explore the fictional notion from William Golding's Lord of the Flies about the power of anonymity to unleash violent behavior. In one experiment from 1969, female students who were made to feel anonymous and given permission for aggression became significantly more hostile than students with their identities intact. Those and a host of other social-psychological studies were showing that human nature was more pliable than previously imagined and more responsive to situational pressures than we cared to acknowledge. In sum, these studies challenged the sacrosanct view that inner determinants of behavior--personality traits, morality, and religious upbringing--directed good people down righteous paths.
Missing from the body of social-science research at the time was the direct confrontation of good versus evil, of good people pitted against the forces inherent in bad situations. It was evident from everyday life that smart people made dumb decisions when they were engaged in mindless groupthink, as in the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion by the smart guys in President John F. Kennedy's cabinet. It was also clear that smart people surrounding President Richard M. Nixon, like Henry A. Kissinger and Robert S. McNamara, escalated the Vietnam War when they knew, and later admitted, it was not winnable. They were .

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. Rationale
Self-reflection is a purposeful activity in which you exercise
multiple skills, such as critical thinking, personal responsibility,
adaptability, and more. When you debrief an experience, you
reflect on everything including the process, the choices and
discoveries you make, and the problems you encounter. The
purpose of the self-reflection questions below is to inspire you
to think about your learning journey. For example, how has this
knowledge made you better? How can you apply your new
knowledge to other areas of your studies? What is its
significance in the real world?
Tasks/ Instructions
· Students should fill in all five reflective journal entries as

concise, and error-free sentences and paragraphs, minimum 100

I. Introduction - Describe what your topic is and why it is
important.
II. Literature Review– The literature review (background
research) tells what others have found out about your subject,
what other research has been done.
Scholars always begin by finding out what else has been done
on the question they wish to explore (or on a closely related
topic). You can’t really enter a scholarly conversation until you
have had a chance to find out what has already been said. This
will help you know what kinds of studies have already been
done, how they have been structured, and what questions remain
to be answered. Find articles and/or books that report research
similar to or related to what you plan to do. It is OK to plan a
project that simply replicates (perhaps in a simpler form and
with a more limited sample) a previous study. If nothing has
8. been done in the area you propose to investigate simply find out
what similar research has been done. Look for these studies in
scholarly books or journals. It is important that your sources not
be textbooks or articles in popular magazines. If your project
involves analyzing popular magazines as data, then the
magazines function as primary sources for analysis, but not as
any of the scholarly sources which you must also consult.
Research Questions or Hypotheses - From the literature review,
develop a logical argument that leads to the statement of your
hypothesis or research question. This should not take more than
a few sentences or a paragraph. For example: “Based on the
previous research, we constructed the following hypothesis…”
or “Based on the review of the literature, our study focuses on
the following research question….”
III. Methods – The methods and data collection section explains
how you went about collecting your data and analyzing it. For
example, if you conduct a survey, address why you decided to
survey the people you selected? How representative do you
think those persons are of the general population? Explain how
you operationalized your variables? (see class notes) Describe
any strengths, weaknesses, limitations of your research design.
(It is part of the scientific method to tell readers what the
shortcomings of the study are.)
IV. Findings – This section includes your data analysis and
interpretation. This is where you explain your analysis of the
data. For example, describe the demographics of your
respondents and any other information that helps the reader
understand who you surveyed (# of males and females, average
age, race, etc.) Describe your analyzed results. This includes
percentages.
Include tables, charts, or graphs. Be sure to discuss
tables/charts/graphs in the paper. Any material presented in a
table or chart should be described – including giving all
9. numerical values – in the text.
VI. Conclusion - Explain what your results mean in the end.
Was your original hypothesis supported? If not, why not? What
ramifications do the results have for society/politics? What
suggestions do you have for future researchers to expand on the
study?
VII. References: Sources should be included in a clear manner.
Use APA. (go to http://owl.english.purdue.edu/ for information
on how to cite sources APA style). Use scholarly sources, not
popular magazines or mainstream news.
