This approach hasn’t changed much, even with social and technological changes, not to mention the pandemic and streaming programs. Grant funding might be the just thing to help buy technology for STEM programming, get a new service initiative off the ground, or complete a renovation. But applying for grants can be overwhelming – and that’s assuming you can even find one for which you qualify. This session aims to introduce you to the tools to make the grant application process more easily navigable. In this session, Kathryn will provide tips for putting your best foot forward when it comes time to submit your proposal. Handouts include a roadmap to success and descriptions of various sections of the application.

By significantly expanding access to eduroam* in community anchor institutions, such as K-12 schools, community colleges, and libraries, ConnectEd Nebraska has made an important impact on the state’s educational landscape. In addition, ConnectEd Nebraska is piloting innovative collaborations between school districts and local ISPs to expand access to eduroam in unique ways that go beyond traditional anchor institutions, reducing barriers to broadband access and enhancing educational opportunities. Attend this session to learn what eduroam is, where it's deployed throughout the state, and how your library can get involved.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

To return the device directly to a library staff member who will check in the device in my
presence, which may take a few minutes. I will NOT return to a drop box.
To not tamper with the electronic device, accessories, and digital books, alter software and
settings, or attach any equipment not included in the kit.
To accept full financial liability for the Electronic Device and accessories, while in my possession
and pay full repair and/or replacement costs should the e-reader or any accessories be lost,
stolen, not returned, or damaged in any way (e.g. water, extreme temperatures or excessive
tobacco smoke).
That the Library may use any appropriate means to collect the amount owed for fees ($2 per day
