The Dead Weight Compression Tester is designed to perform either as a single test to investigate the effect of deformation, creep, collapse or failure as part of a sequence of tests designed to measure the ability of a package, to withstand a distribution system that includes a compression hazard.
The Dead Weight Compression Tester may also be used to investigate performance under conditions of loading, as for example, when the bottom package in a stack rests on an open-decked pallet.
The Mattress Compression Tester is used to evaluate a degree of firmness common within the mattress
and foam industries, either in the laboratory, or on the production line.
This universal measurement of firmness and hardness is based on a physical property called the indentation force deflection (IFD) and is calculated by determining the force required to deflect the test piece a percentage of its original thickness using a circular indenter.
The circular indenter foot applies a force, while also recording the degree of indentation. To compare test results, test pieces must be of the same size and thickness. The whole article may be used if moulded shapes are being tested.

The Flat Crush Test evaluates the resistance of flutes in corrugated board to a crushing force applied perpendicular to the surface of the board. Low flat crush values may reflect poor formation of the corrugations, Substandard materials, or damage to the corrugations after they are formed.
The Flat Crush Test requires the use of the Flat Crush Test Fixture to prevent lateral movement of the upper portion of the test piece during compressions and also the Flat Crush Test Cutter which can cut through the corrugated structure, leaving clean cut edges at right angles to the faces.
The Edge Compression Guide Blocks are to aid in the determination of the resistance of corrugated fibreboard to a load applied in the plane of the board in a direction parallel to the flutes, i.e. parallel to the cross direction of the component sheets. This knowledge can be related to the compression strength of containers when constructed with flutes vertical in vertical faces.
The Edge Compression Cutter has been designed and manufactured to cut accurate samples from corrugated board for testing purposes. This method, which cuts the edges parallel, is the easiest and most repeatable method of preparing samples for Edge Compression Testing.
Two sharp, single bevelled parallel blades are in the pneumatically driven cutter head. The blades are moved at high speeds to ensure straight and parallel edges with square corners. It is one step; easy operation is guarded by a polycarbonate safety screen to protect the operator
This range of precision Punch and Die Manual Sample Cutters allow for accurate and easy cutting of paper and paperboard testing samples to a variety of sizes as per relevant international standards.
The Ruler Type Cutting Dies are used for cutting of plastic film, paper and rubber samples used for tensile and tear testing (dumbbell, trouser, etc). They are manufactured with a ply backed knife-edge and can be manufactured to suit various international test standards.
This instrument is used for determining the linear change of a refractory caused by a change in temperature and to ascertain the reversibility of these characteristics. It may also be used to determine the expansion and contraction characteristics of raw materials and refractories that do not exhibit reversible linear changes with increasing temperature.
The tests carried out on this machine give an indication of the risk of spontaneous cracking of the shoe of soles due to flexing in wear. The sole forepart is attached to an endless belt which passes around two
rollers, the smaller of which determines the severity of the flexing action. The endless belt usually accommodates up to six sole units.
The document describes a digital air permeability tester manufactured by IDM Instruments Pty. Ltd. It measures the air leakage of plastic films and has a sample opening of 5mm and safety activation switches. It determines air permeability, has a flow range of 0-50 LPM, operates on 220/240 or 110 VAC power, and includes templates for the sled and moving plane.

Harnessing WebAssembly for Real-time Stateless Streaming PipelinesChristina Lin
Traditionally, dealing with real-time data pipelines has involved significant overhead, even for straightforward tasks like data transformation or masking. However, in this talk, we’ll venture into the dynamic realm of WebAssembly (WASM) and discover how it can revolutionize the creation of stateless streaming pipelines within a Kafka (Redpanda) broker. These pipelines are adept at managing low-latency, high-data-volume scenarios.
DEEP LEARNING FOR SMART GRID INTRUSION DETECTION: A HYBRID CNN-LSTM-BASED MODELgerogepatton
As digital technology becomes more deeply embedded in power systems, protecting the communication
networks of Smart Grids (SG) has emerged as a critical concern. Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3)
represents a multi-tiered application layer protocol extensively utilized in Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA)-based smart grids to facilitate real-time data gathering and control functionalities.
Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion
detection in smart grids. The proposed approach is a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network
(CNN) and the Long-Short-Term Memory algorithms (LSTM). We employed a recent intrusion detection
dataset (DNP3), which focuses on unauthorized commands and Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattacks, to
train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
accuracy rate of 99.50%.

Electric vehicle and photovoltaic advanced roles in enhancing the financial p...IJECEIAES
Climate change's impact on the planet forced the United Nations and governments to promote green energies and electric transportation. The deployments of photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) systems gained stronger momentum due to their numerous advantages over fossil fuel types. The advantages go beyond sustainability to reach financial support and stability. The work in this paper introduces the hybrid system between PV and EV to support industrial and commercial plants. This paper covers the theoretical framework of the proposed hybrid system including the required equation to complete the cost analysis when PV and EV are present. In addition, the proposed design diagram which sets the priorities and requirements of the system is presented. The proposed approach allows setup to advance their power stability, especially during power outages. The presented information supports researchers and plant owners to complete the necessary analysis while promoting the deployment of clean energy. The result of a case study that represents a dairy milk farmer supports the theoretical works and highlights its advanced benefits to existing plants. The short return on investment of the proposed approach supports the paper's novelty approach for the sustainable electrical system. In addition, the proposed system allows for an isolated power setup without the need for a transmission line which enhances the safety of the electrical network
