Editor's Notes

  • #6 Understands reuse, information model, consistency, style, cares about the quality, cares about the end user experience, is passionate about the content. Often has the best overall understanding of the product next to the sw architects or principle engineers. Know about reuse, traceability, translation, etc etc When they are good, they are very technically knowledgeable, Sometimes don’t know the product to the depth they need to, and in something like telecom, not possible. KEY THING – they are not engineers.
  • #7 Understands sw architecture, code libraries, cares about the internal user experience and peer experience, is passionate about the code. They know about a feature, a functional area, or some narrow slice of the product. The key thing is that THEY HAVE ANOTHER JOB Sometimes thinks they are focussed on end user when they are not – rebuilding the product rather than using it Sometimes great info engineers, sometimes not. When not, they might believe that consistency, style, reusability, is definitely not a good use of their time when they can do it all really fast in MS Word.
  • #8 Creation of a tool to facilitate collaboration across the entire organization 3 Driving forces From 2 web applications (based on java applets) to a single web platform based on modern technology (HTML 5 and Javascript)
